I chose my user name because of everything that I had on my plate at that time in my life: full time job, single parenting, teaching piano, involved in the music ministry at my church. Sometimes, it's like herding cats!
I even joked about it at work - on Tuesdays, I used to work with an autistic young man with all sorts of behavioral issues. He was paired with a wheelchair bound young man with mild retardation and no impulse control. Barring safety concerns, I gave both these gentlemen a "long leash," letting the community correct them if they acted inappropriately. This was harder to do than to be a "control freak" like many in my field, but it was consistent with our organization's philosophy, and, in my opinion, best for the participants, as they learn more when the community calls them on inappropriate behavior than when I do. Anyway, I joked that when I was scheduled to work with these guys, that was my "Cat Herding" day.
