Please do not misunderstand me my friends if a person who loves Christ wants to worship on Saturday that's great. If a person who loves Christ wants to worship on Sunday that's great too.
The important thing above all is we are born again through the precious body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The point I'm trying to make here for everyone is some are implying if you don't worship on Saturday you are lost.
Please point that person out so I don't feel like being falsely accused. Thanks

Heb 4:9 Therefore remains a keeping of a sabbath for the people of the God. - Diaglott

Actually, Sabbath keeping is mentioned.

I stand corrected. But..... it's talking about our resting in Christ, not the sabbath observance.
Matt. Henry Commentary
(4.) From the certainty of another rest besides that seventh day of rest instituted and observed both before and after the fall, and besides that typical Canaan-rest which most of the Jews fell short of by unbelief; for the Psalmist has spoken of another day and another rest, whence it is evident that there is a more spiritual and excellent sabbath remaining for the people of God than that into which Joshua led the Jews (v. 6-9), and this rest remaining,

[1.] A rest of grace, and comfort, and holiness, in the gospel state. This is the rest wherewith the Lord Jesus, our Joshua, causes weary souls and awakened consciences to rest, and this is the refreshing.
[2.] A rest in glory, the everlasting sabbatism of heaven, which is the repose and perfection of nature and grace too, where the people of God shall enjoy the end of their faith and the object of all their desires.

Are Jesus teachings not part of NT?
Do you not consider the four gospels NT?
Are Christians not to obey anything not mentioned in the last 23 books?

Jesus' teachings are in the NT, but His teachings were about the covenant He lived in....The old covenant. He did tell us about the New Covenant that was still to come, though. When arguing with the Pharisees, for instance, Jesus always used the old covenant.

What day did God rest on? After creating the world?
Heb 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
Heb 4:10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
Heb 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

it is clear

we are to enter into THAT rest that GOD rested on the SEVENTH DAY or we are unbelievers

it sure is talking about the sabbath seventh day

read the whole Chapter
Paul was trying to tell the Jews the Laws of sacrifice are over but there remains the law of love the ten commandments with the Sabbath day...

Any child can read this

Really? Then please explain this: Heb 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

What's unbelief got to do with resting on Saturday? How does one labour to rest?

Keeping Sabbath or sunday will do no good unless you ahve a relationship with Jesus.
Sabbath is the relationship day he promises to sanctify us on
this is worth everything.

Rom 11:20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:Rom 11:21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

talking about the Jews who did not keep the Sabbath and were cast off

Sabbathing is relationship of love with Jesus

they killed him

but they can be grafted in again.
if they repent and believe the bible

Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living word of God.

Heb 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

so to enter into the rest you must have

1. belief in the Bible as the word of God
2. Love for God
3. commune with God on Sabbath

everything else is unbelief

Lets not be ridiculous my friend.
Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

You are applying ridiculous, Pharisaical rules to the Sabbath that just are not there.

I'll have to disagree with you on this. Romans 11 have nothing to do with either the Jews or Sabbath. It gave the relational standing of Gentiles and the Children of Israel to God..

This post above was in response to john832 silly question. "OK, now would you say the same thing about murder? Adultery? Taking the name of God in vain? You free from these also?"

I am so done with this thread.

a. So what He said here has no bearing for Christians?
You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
b. Whom will He be declaring to on that day "'I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS?"
c. And what covenant was Jeremiah 31:31 referring to?
d. And why Paul used verses from "OT" in his letter to the Romans?

Really? Then please explain this: Heb 4:11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Six days you shall LABOR and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God....Exodus 20:9-10

you guys are misunderstanding the meaning of rest....you are thinking about it in a mundane way, which is not bad, just not complete.

to rest our flesh we restrain our feet from going our own way.

Jesus gave us many examples, first announcing the order of his priesthood, and so the disciples can do anything a priest could do. He continually shows by word and deed that it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath, including things that benefit another but require what the pharisees said was just labor, like healing someone or releasing a captive.

So the only reasons to not want to observe the Sabbath are:
You don't believe in God or accept Christ
You don't want to be marked as belonging to God
You have an addiction to sinning, which you give yourself up to instead of asking for healing from the Lord.

OR

You have a misconceived notion of what it means to observe the Sabbath.

And you can't take the Sabbath out, because the law doesn't only have to do with you, the law is for the land. This is why the Earth is being destroyed. The Sabbath also relates to release from debt, so if you are anti-sabbath laws, you are basically saying you enjoy the system of financial control that's presently over so many of us.

So maybe, it would be worth reconsidering.

Again, nobody in their right mind would say that any law is for salvation, so everyone who even mentions that, is just being derisive. If you don't like it, than stop being derisive. Salvation is by grace through faith. You don't need to keep bringing it into the discussion. It's not even like you are new Christians, who do this, innocently wondering how the law effects salvation. You know what scripture says, and you know the people on here well enough, to know that you can get a reaction. Well bravo. Fine don't rest....you go make that almighty dollar, and worship Ishtar on Passover and just keep thinking everything is a-okay.

Ironic considering you have as a country flag the Israeli flag with a symbol that isn't even Biblical and has questionable origins.

I had to choose a nationality. I haven't any here. Even though I am an american by birth, I have never pledged my alligience to anything, least of all a flag.

The country Israel isn't the real Israel anyway, it's the Jews.

From The Bible knowledge Commentary:
2:15-17. By fulfilling the demands of the Law, Christ disarmed the demonic powers and authorities (cf. 1:16; 2:10), triumphing over them (cf. 2 Cor. 2:14). As a result believers are delivered from these evil powers which inspire legalistic rules about foods and festivals. No one should judge you by what you eat or drink because Christians are free from the Law’s legalistic requirements (such as those in Lev. 11; 17; Deut. 14). God does not condemn those who eat everything (Rom. 14:1-4). In fact, God says that all foods may be eaten since they were “created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth” (1 Tim. 4:3). The teaching that forbids this, Paul wrote, is “taught by demons” (1 Tim. 4:1) whom Christ has disarmed (Col. 2:15). This liberation of believers pertains also to festivals such as a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath Day (cf. Gal. 4:10). Those who would bring Christians under the bondage of the Law make artificial distinctions between the “ceremonial” and “moral” law, and so they say the Sabbath has not passed away. That this is false can be seen from the following: (1) The Sabbath command is the only one of the Ten Commandments not repeated in the New Testament. (2) The early believers, following Christ’s resurrection and appearance on Sunday (Mark 16:1; John 20:1), met on Sundays (Acts 20:7; 1 Cor. 16:2). (3) The Bible nowhere distinguishes between the so-called “moral” and “ceremonial” laws (this distinction was not made before the 13th century a.d.) (4) This Colossian passage explicitly condemns those who command Sabbath obedience. (5) As Paul put it, the Old Testament Law (including the Sabbath) was only a shadow of the things that were to come. The reality or “substance” (sōma, lit., “body”), however, is to be found in Christ (cf. Heb. 8:5; 10:1). What the Old Testament foreshadowed, Christ fulfilled (cf. Matt. 5:17; Rom. 8:3-4). A “shadow” (skia) is only an image cast by an object which represents its form. Once one finds Christ, he no longer needs to follow the old shadow.

Now, it you want to make your claim of keeping the sabbath, you need to look at this first.

The year 2014, Gregorian calendar (ours) is the year 5774 on the Jewish calendar.

From Wikipedia:
Because of the roughly eleven-day difference between twelve lunar months and one solar year, the length of the Hebrew calendar year varies in the repeating 19-year Metonic cycle of 235 lunar months, with the intercalary month added according to defined rules every two or three years, for a total of seven times per 19 years. Even with this intercalation, the average Hebrew calendar year is longer by about 6 minutes and 25+25/57 seconds than the current mean solar year, so that every 224 years, the Hebrew calendar will fall a day behind the current mean solar year; and about every 231 years it will fall a day behind the Gregorian calendar year.

Anyone trying to keep the Sabbath on the Gregorian calendar isn't keeping it at all! One would have to take off of work in the middle of the week to keep it!
All laws & prophecies of the OT hinge on the Jewish calendar. Therefore, those fussing about changing from Saturday to Sunday is a "changing of times" is totally unaware it was changed already by the changing of the calendars! If Sunday-goers are sinning, so are the sabbath-keepers of the Gregorian calendar!

Then there's the rest of the laws concerning the Sabbath (seventh) day:

1. No work done at all (Ex. 20: 10; Lev. 23: 3; Jer. 17:21-22). No watering the lawn, no working in the yard, no hobbies, no surfing, no fixing flat tires, etc. By law if a person did not stop all types of activity in honor of the Sabbath, he was breaking the law. In Numbers 15:32-36 a man was caught collecting sticks on the Sabbath, and he was stoned to death.
2 No kindling of a fire (Ex. 35:3). No fellowship cookouts or barbecues. You can't go into a restaurant and get a hamburger that's been flame broiled, you can't cook eggs, or pancakes in the morning because you'd be kindling a fire for cooking. To drive a car would be to "kindle a fire" In the combustion chamber of your engine.
3. No traveling at all (Ex. 16:29). Later the Jews added to this law, allowing only a half mile of travel on the Sabbath which we see observed in the NT. But the pure law says "stay at home." Actually, If you kept this part of the law, you could not travel to your church gathering unless it was less than one-quarter mile away from home. If you had an emergency you could not drive to the hospital.
4. No trading (Amos 8:5). If you happened to need gas to get to church service, you could not "trade" money for gasoline. You would not be allowed to buy a cassette tape of that morning's message or a book at the store. There is to be No exchanging of money for goods. If you worked with stocks and you needed to sell you couldn’t.
5. No marketing (Neh. 10:31; 13:15,19). Make sure you do no shopping whatsoever. You can't buy any ice cream for dessert after dinner or anything else. If you run out of food or drink at home you can’t go out to purchase any, you can’t even by a stick of gum.
6. A holy assembly with double the daily offering along with the other offerings. In other words, you are to give twice as much on the Sabbath (Num. 28:9).Do we practiced this today In compliance with Old Testament law. Do Sabbatarian's really practice the law? I have yet to see people go to Shabbat and give twice as much each week.
7. New showbread In the holy place (Lev. 24:8). Of course this cannot be done today since there is no temple, so this part of the Sabbath cannot be followed by the church. The fact Is the Sabbath was not made for the gentiles, but for the Jews and their generations (Ex. 31:12-17). It's a law given between God and the Jews.
8.The last part of the requirements for keeping the Sabbath day law Is the penalty for breaking It. DEATH

So, which of you are keeping the Shabbat of the 10 commandments?

So here's how it goes........ Some say we can't keep it all but we're not perfect, so it's alright. Then others claim to keep the moral side of it but not the ceremonial, claiming there's a difference.

Then.......when I post this most of them skip right by it, I guess hoping they don't have to explain the Gregorian calendar, & the 8 points of why they're not keeping the sabbath in the first place. After that, they just go back & "discuss" why the Sunday-go-to-meeting christians are still breaking the sabbath.

No one can steer around this. Just like the law & the commands of Christ, you're either keeping the sabbath or you're not. There's no fence, no excuse, & no amount of repetition can cover it up.

The good news is this: No one has to keep the Sabbath anymore. Jesus is our Sabbath rest. He fufilled the law, & that's good enough for me. And it ought to be for you, too, because you can't keep this law without a Jewish calendar. You're obseving it on the wrong day just like the Sunday christians. Therefore you're guilty of death when you make your claim.

I'm not gonna sit here for the next 10 pages & try to prove myself or my points to anybody. I'm only responsible to tell the naysayers the truth. I'm not gonna try to make them believe anything. That's not my responsibility. I'm only a voice.

I can only speak for myself, but I don't advocate the Takenot Rabbinical laws, neither did Messiah. He said to keep Torah.

As for the "what day of the week is it really?" [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]It is sometimes believed that many calendar changes have taken place since the time of Yeshua. This is not true. There has been only one change. This change, from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian Calendar, had no effect whatsoever upon the order of the days of the week. Julius Caesar instituted the Julian Calendar in 46 BC. The month of July was named in honor of Julius. When Augustus Caesar succeeded Julius, he also wanted a
month named after himself, so he gave the month following July (originally Sextilis) the name of August. Since August only had 30 days, and Augustus considered himself as important as Julius, whose month of July had 31 days, Augustus took one day from February and added it to August. The changes made by Augustus did not affect the order of the days of the wee
