I don't look for love online. Never have, but sometimes
it finds
you. I don't like to PM. This is well known.
I don't like to cam either. Both of those things have led to situations I do not care for. I want everything I do or say online to be right out in the open for all to see, which is why I prefer the forums to chat. Anyone can see everything I type here at any time. If someone wants to be in a serious relationship with me they need to step up, ask me out and date me in person. Period.
Anyone I've ever met online and seriously considered dating has been given my personal/office phone numbers, business website listing my physical business address (I never, ever, EVER put my personal address online for any reason whatsoever) and has been free to contact me anywhere at any time of the day or night. And they have. They have sent flowers. They have spoken with my co-workers. They were given every opportunity to confirm I was exactly who and what I said I was.
Do what you have to do to protect yourself, but I've been working the Internet for a very long time and I do not recommend online dating at all. I've said this time and time again. If you want to date someone, do it in person. Meeting them online is fine, but date them in person. People can type or talk on cameras/phones all day long, but there will still be some very dangerous things you cannot see or know about them.
