We've heard all of this nonsense before. The gap theory is absolute bollocks and just aims to line up the Bible with the long-ages perpetuated by people like Charles Lyell. Evolutionary theory adopted uniformitarianism to give it credence. Why do people believe this crap?
I am not sure how evolutionary theory follows from gap theory....all I am saying is that the bible begins with God CREATING the earth which then becomes a wasteland and is then restored before the creation of man...it has nothing to do with evolution. It is my opinion that the earth is much younger than science would have us believe, but much older than biblical timelines.... How do you account for dinosaurs and such like anomalies?

I don't know that I believe "this crap" or not, but I have always wondered why there was a land of Nod and how did Cain find a wife there. Yes, I know, she was a daughter of Adam that had left before Cain did.

No the gap theory and evolution are two different beliefs but the gap theory is only there to accommodate for the fossil records and geology that are believed to be millions and billions of years old. Dinosaurs were created just before humans. Easy. They're not an anomaly. There is no evidence for the gap theory. It's a load of nonsense inferred by reading a bunch of unrelated verses and coupling them together.

The Bible doesn't say Cain found his wife in Nod. In fact, it implies Cain already had a wife when God sent him away (as it mentions him making love to her and giving birth to a child).

[SUP]9 [/SUP]Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” And he said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?” [SUP]10 [/SUP]He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying to Me from the ground. [SUP]11 [/SUP]Now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. [SUP]12 [/SUP]When you cultivate the ground, it will no longer yield its strength to you; you will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth.” [SUP]13 [/SUP]Cain said to the Lord, “My punishment is too great to bear! [SUP]14 [/SUP]Behold, You have driven me this day from the face of the ground; and from Your face I will be hidden, and I will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.” [SUP]15 [/SUP]So the Lord said to him, “Therefore whoever kills Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold.” And the Lord appointed a sign for Cain, so that no one finding him would slay him.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Then Cain (no mention of wife here or prior)went out from the presence of the Lord, and settled in the land of Nod, east of Eden.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Cain (already in the land of Nod) had relations with his wife and she conceived, and gave birth to Enoch; and he built a city, and called the name of the city Enoch, after the name of his son.

the earth is billions of years old. Lucifer was the first in-charge before adamic era. He reigned of this earth for billions of years before the fall. The Bible said He was at eden(first eden prior to adamic eden.). There were two edens in the Bible. Science doesn't lie of this part that earth is much older than 6000 years but billions.

Ezekiel 28:13-18
"Thou has been in eden the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering the sardius, topaz, the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, the jasper, the sapphire the emerald and the carbuncle and gold; the workmanship of your tabrets and of your pipes was prepared in you in the day that you were created. You are the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set you so, you were upon the holy mountain of God; you have walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty, you have corrupted your wisdom by reason of your brightness: I will cast you to the ground, I will lay you before kings, that they may behold you. You have defiled your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities, by the iniquity of your traffick; therefore I will bring forth a fire from the midst of you, it shall devour you and I will bring you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all those who behold you." Here the scriptures confirm that Lucifer was in the garden of Eden before Adam and his wife were created.

The text does not say Cain found his wife in Nod. It merely says that he went to Nod and his wife conceived. The language suggests he already had a wife when he arrived in Nod.

can you explain why we have In Isaiah 45:18 we read: “For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain (tohu)“ but in genesis it says after the earth was created it was void (tohu) .... Personally I don't find any verses in the bible that are unrelated...that is the miracle of scripture

it is quite simple. vs 1 is the very beginning He created the start. On Day six after his "beginning" His creation was perfect.

every creation job has a start. it is always tohu until it if completed. not think of the universe as we see it. God created all that in 6 days, that in itself is a feat I am not sure we will ever comprehend on how it was done.

I must admit, I fell for it. Thank God for books like the genesis flood and the Earth's Catastrophic past to get me out of that way of thinking.

I remember the first time I read about the Gap theory, I was so happy. Finally, scripture and science could match. Typical human response. And as usual, God made human wisdom to no effect.

Ezekiel 28:13-18 has absolutely nothing to do with Lucifer. The subject of this text is revealed verse 12 as the king of Tyre, not Satan.

You also misunderstand who Lucifer was. This name is NEVER used in connection with Satan anywhere in scripture. In fact this name is only used one time the Bible and this is found in Isaiah 14:4-16 where God used this term to refer to the king of Babylon, not Satan.

I am on the same page with you on this. I don't know how this could be referring to Satan here.

hey bro. I am sure it will be asked, And in fact I am wondering myself.

How could the king of Tyre been in the garden of God when he was not born until after mankind was removed from the garden.

Just curious.

Yes, as I've mentioned many times before, I believe the passage addresses both the King of Tyre and his Master (Satan). There are too many verses that imply something other than what a human, even a powerful king, would experience.

Well, I certainly hope you're consulting more up-to-date texts than The Genesis Flood now, but yes, for its time, the book was revolutionary and it did get the ball rolling in the right direction.

LOL. Yea, I knew someone would ask. The language of this entire text like that found in Isaiah 4:12 is purely representational. The language is meant to paint a picture of the power, elegance and elevated status that God had given to those kings but, because of their arrogance and abuse of power, God took them down. Whether or not we are able to understand just how some of the descriptions apply really does not affect to text. God is very clear in revealing who he is addressing this language to. 12“Son of man, take up a lamentation over the king of Tyre and say to him..." This is further established in the closing remark of verse 16, "Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms."

That still doesn't answer why Isaiah said it WAS NOT CREATED tohu.... note NOT CREATED tohu..... but if you take Genesis to be the creation of earth.... the exact words are "Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void" .......... so if it's created NOT tohu, how come AFTER its creation... it is void (tohu) Contradiction.... isaiah says it was created NOT tohu, Genesis says AFTER its creation it was tohu....

ok you just made me look. I am sure you will be taken to daniel ten, where the king of media stopped the angel of God for 21 days. (at least this is what was used by the gap theorist form what I remember)

But two different hebrew words were used.

The one in daniel can be an angelic being. The one in ezekial is just a leader.

I still think it might be both, as tintin said, just to many thing no man could or has done.. But youhave me thinking, which is a good thing

And then we have :
Jer 4:23 I beheld the earth, and lo, it was without form (tohu), and void(bohu); and the heavens, and they had no light.
Jer 4:24 I beheld the mountains, and lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
Jer 4:25 I beheld, and lo, there was no man, and all the fowls of the heavens had fled.
Jer 4:26 I beheld, and lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all its cities were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.
Jer 4:27 For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be(haya) desolate; yet will I not make a full end.
