there where different laws given in the old testament which laws are you refering to i will break them down for you 1. The Ten Commandments 2. The religious ceremonial laws 3. The health laws 4. The civil laws. ? could you explain what laws your talking about . Christ of the new testament is the same god of the old testament god does not lie

Hebrews 6:18
18 so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us

John 14:155" If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. 16"I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;…

ok pleas tell me what is it these laws your talking about. ?
If you love Me, you will keep my commandments . . . . Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thy hear, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matt. 22:36-40
2. The religious ceremonial laws
God planned from the beginning that the religious ceremonial laws would cease at the cross, because Christ, the true Lamb of God was sacrificed. The animal sacrifices all pointed forward to Christ’s death on the cross. “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, . . .” (Daniel 9:27) For us to offer animal sacrifices today would be a sacrilege, saying that Christ did not die for our sins.

is it thees lawsyou speak about ?
I believe that in one of my post I specifically said the Levitical laws.
3. The health laws
These are laws that God gave us to keep us healthy and free from disease. The physics of the human body have not changed since these laws were given. The health laws are just as much a benefit for us today as they were for the ancient Israelites. Consider Exodus 15:26: “. . . If you will diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord your God, and will do that which is right in his sight, and will give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon you, that I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that heals you.” If people perfectly obeyed God and kept the health laws today they would NEVER be sick.
In the beginning: And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be fore meat. Genesis 1:29
After the flood: Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. Genesis 9:3
Now: For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, it it be received with thanksgiving. 1 Timothy 4:4

Things do change. . . . .

4. The civil laws

These were the laws governing the civil penalties for crimes within Israel.

Many of our civil laws today are based on these laws to some degree. God does not require these to be strictly adhered to today, because there no longer in existence, but they should be used to guide us in setting up our governments. When someone is convicted of murder, for instance, the murderer should be put to death swiftly in order to discourage others from this sin. “Whoever sheds man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed And blood defiles the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.” (Genesis 9:6, Numbers 35:33)

this last law here is done away with in some states but not all
Is it these laws your speaking about ?

. . . .Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's. Matt. 22:21
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men; For kings and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 1 Timothy 2:1,2

But of course, if we love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and love others as ourselves then we will obey the laws of the land.

and perhaps ivanco and eternily grateful and danschance and others can answer this question too and i think its awful and cowardly if you dont answer this especialy when you have all directly asked just-me who has quite clearly pointed out allready you are free from condemnation of the law if you believe in jesuses word.
Here are my answers to your questions.

In reference to the conversation that Jesus had with Nicodemus, it was only about 2 months ago that I saw this for the first time, even though I have read the Gospel of John several times. Get a load of this.

John 3:9-10 (KJV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

In other words, the law and the prophets spoke about being born again in context. It doesn't say that specifically, as we read chronologically, but by studying, and comparing spiritual with spiritual, I can see that the Old Testament relates to being born again. Amazing!! to say the least.
Yes,

Nocodemus did not see it yet. Because he still thought it was the law which made him righteous. By following the commands to the best of his ability.

WHo said I do not preach the OT. I teach and study it all the time.

Have no idea what this has to do with the ten commands. They were not even mentioned here.

Oh I do seem hesitant?

No I am not hesitant It did its job in my life. It proved I was a sinner. It did its job, Because I could not (I still can't keep them as required.

Galatians 3:10 [ The Law Brings a Curse ] For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.”

Well keep working it out. It is obvious you do not understand my belief yet my friend.

Ah yes, He sent the son to save.

Why? Because all the law (including the ten commands) can do is condemn.
you seem to have a somewhat very erm how can say this you seem to be very persuasive of your beliefs shall i say, like saying i was once like you and i changed and so forth is saying to a person in a nice way you must belief what i belief and you must ?

maybe you dont see this i do not know but i know that man can not force his beliefs God must reveal the truth to that person it is your job and others to plants the seeds but be careful you don't plant a weed ? im not saying you have but you can not say that following just one law is all you need.

To peacefulbeliever

As you quoted:

"For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious."

Haggai 2:6-9 (KJV)

[SUP]6 [/SUP]For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;
[SUP]7 [/SUP]And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts.

John 2:19 (KJV)
[SUP]19 [/SUP]Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

Mark 14:58 (KJV)
[SUP]58 [/SUP]We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.

Praise God from whom all blessing flow.
I just can't believe this - your trying to turn the context into the 'temple'. You know better!

Was Paul a minister of the new 'temple' or the new testament? you know the one 'written not of the letter but of the spirit' or was the 'temple' written not of the letter but of the spirit? [as you are trying to make it say] Was the 'temple' the ministration of death written and engraven in stones?

COME ON . . . . . . .

All I did was quote scripture in reference to the scripture you posted. God's words not mine.

I know, we have talked about this before, and we both remember. Only the physical can pass away.

Yes, there is a new covenant, but that doesn't negate the spiritual significance of the old covenant that contains the word of God. By saying the old covenant is "old and ready to vanish away" means that the words contained in the old covenant are also "old and ready to pass away."

With that said, Jesus said "man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. That includes the words in the old covenant. To say those words are ready to pass away with the covenant that contains them, is a contradiction of what Jesus repeated to Satan, that which He repeated was in the old covenant.

The old temple, at the time Hebrews was written, was "old and ready to vanish away."

3 times in Hebrews, "covenant" is added in italicized words when speaking of the old, and new temple.

and as we know jesus who is god also spoke these words in the new testement.. so this should clarify for others to ,, the god of the new is the same of the old

lol.. That is prety sad though.

Why does a person who has faith in Christ, and are following the law of love need commandments for?

Is it going to help them be better people? Or cause them to think on things they should not be thinking on, and worrying about doing what God wants them to do?

What is sad is you may not have heard these things. But you obvious have been taught many things, Because you make the same mistakes they make. (I was in your shoes once, and taught as you believe, so I think I know what you have been taught, You say the same things which I spent many a sunday listening to and based my christian life on. If only I knew now what I knew then. What more I could have done for god. I will never know. I can just pray God forgives me for being focused so much on things which could not help my Christian growth, and kep me from serving the people he placed in my life.

How are you serving people if you forsake God?

What's sad, is that not many people talk about how small a remnant is. If we were going to be very generous and say it is 49%, and according to examples in the Bible it is much much less than that..but let's just say 49% for sake of argument, because it is impossible to say it is more.

According to:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_population‎Wikipedia

The world population is the total number of living humans on Earth. As of March 26, 2014, it is estimated to number 7.153 billion by the United States Census ...

7.153 billion..7,153,000,000.

49% = 3,504,970,000...so this represents the remnant.
51% = 3,648,030,000...this represents 51%...which represents how many will be rejected from Messiah, because He don't know them.
.............at least.........3,648,030,000 will be rejected by Messiah, according to His Word.
Matthew 7:14

King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]14 [/SUP]Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Isn't it staggering, isn't it beyond imagination, just how many people? I find it sobering. I find it agreeing with Paul when he said "Work out your salvation with fear and trembling".

As for me, staying in God's Word means life. It is the only thing that really matters. Man's opinion doesn't count, only God's Word will stand forever. Give me the Words first delivered to the Saints, so I may know my Father's will, and so I may share it with whomever I find.

As for the ignore button, it is necessary at times to let others have the last word.

Acts 24:10-14 (KJV)
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Then Paul, after that the governor had beckoned unto him to speak, answered, Forasmuch as I know that thou hast been of many years a judge unto this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself:
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Because that thou mayest understand, that there are yet but twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem for to worship.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]And they neither found me in the temple disputing with any man, neither raising up the people, neither in the synagogues, nor in the city:
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets:

AMEN Paul. that's exactly what I think and believe.
I too believe all things which are written in the law and in the prophets - I am not UNDER that law though - This I do my utmost to obey: Thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

You need to take into consideration the next verse: 15) 'And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust' then go back and read Chapter 23 how the Sadducees and Pharisees got into an uproar over the resurrection v6 But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council . . . of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question. . . .So I don't believe the context of this is 'being under the law' -

Right you are. When anyone lists the 2 commandments I always like to ditto them with the law so that everyone knows how to love God's way, and see the principles of how to do that. Just so you know. I'm not meaning being facetious but the law is where love was defined first. It's "old" but it's good. That was facetious. Sorry

Deuteronomy 6:1-6 (KJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:
[SUP]2 [/SUP]That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
[SUP]5 [/SUP]And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

Deuteronomy 13:1-4 (KJV)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
[SUP]2 [/SUP]And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.

Leviticus 19:11-18 (KJV)
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Thou shalt not defraud thy neighbour, neither rob him: the wages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the LORD.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the LORD.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

Yes we have. . . .I didn't say the old covenant is 'old and ready to vanish away' God did - 'In that he saith, A new covenant. he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away'.

Now I know you will say that covenant is italicized so it's added - but if we look at the whole of Chapter 8 we will see that it is correctly added: v1-5 subject - tabernacle v6 a better covenant [not added], 7 - For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. [back to 2 Cor. 3:6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament (diatheke - same Gk word as covenant); not of the letter, but of the spirit . . .] Sound familiar? Covenant correctly added in verse goes along with what is said in 2 Corinthians [close context and remote context]. Covenant is used in v8,9,10, and all of a sudden in verse 13 subject changes - I don't think so.

I also still quote scripture from the OT - I am not saying the OT is not truth - the covenant, i.e. the law is fulfilled it's purpose. We have a new and better way, we have better covenant, not of the letter but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life - I didn't make up the scripture.

Thank you just-me. But as I said before I know the OT is a foreshadowing of the NT :) and a lot of the OT is reiterated in the NT - now we operate in the spirit and not by the letter . . . . .

you seem to have a somewhat very erm how can say this you seem to be very persuasive of your beliefs shall i say, like saying i was once like you and i changed and so forth is saying to a person in a nice way you must belief what i belief and you must ?
Not sure what you mean.

I used to believe as Just-me and other like her believe.

maybe you dont see this i do not know but i know that man can not force his beliefs God must reveal the truth to that person it is your job and others to plants the seeds but be careful you don't plant a weed ? im not saying you have but you can not say that following just one law is all you need.
May I ask why you did not respond to what I said?

And follow one law? What law are you talking about?

I just can't believe this - your trying to turn the context into the 'temple'. You know better!

Was Paul a minister of the new 'temple' or the new testament? you know the one 'written not of the letter but of the spirit' or was the 'temple' written not of the letter but of the spirit? [as you are trying to make it say] Was the 'temple' the ministration of death written and engraven in stones?

COME ON . . . . . . .

lol.

Considering the temple did not come until King Davids son. Many years after the law written in stone was given. Your right, this is a stretch.

This is crazy look all these scriptures wrote in the new testament look here
Mind if I ask you a few questions?

1. How good are you at keeping those commands?
2. Can those commands show you how to keep them? or can they just tell you have miserably you are at keeping them?
3. Moses was told to tell the people. Unless they follow every letter of those commands, they would be cursed. And they agreed (yet failed to keep what they agreed to) so unless you think you keep them all perfectly. What do you think it means when it says you are cursed if you do not keep them all?

Thank you just-me. But as I said before I know the OT is a foreshadowing of the NT :) and a lot of the OT is reiterated in the NT - now we operate in the spirit and not by the letter . . . . .
Got that right. The change that some cannot, or refuse to see, is from the physical to the spiritual. Jesus came to change us, not His Fathers words. In order to be subject to the law, one has to see it through the spiritual eyes of the Holy Spirit. Just by mentioning the validity of the "Mosaic law" (as some call it) always comes the statement of, "why are you trying to tell others to go back under the law?"

Those that fight it, and say it's no good for today because it's nothing but condemnation to the sinner, or that it is totally changed because of the Priesthood change, just to fit their defiant doctrine, fall into this category listed in Romans 8:5-8 (KJV)
[SUP]5 [/SUP]For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

[h=3]Revelation 14:12-20[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]12 [/SUP]Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
