Ji true the PURIFICATION is a process but the making Holy is ONE STEP.... It is the moment God fills us with the Spirit of GOD. I get the Bible this way.... The Holy Spirit LEADS us before He FILLS us.

Jesus said take up your cross and FOLLOW me... and the Bible says ... FILLED WITH THE HOLY GHOST... So obviously the Spirit of Jesus leads us to be filled with the Holy SPirit as HE WAS.

I read Acts 8 from verse 5 and I understand how God completes the work on a person to be a GOD-SENT man. A HOLY MAN OF GOD as 2 Peter 1:21 says. God completes by filling with the Spirit of God.

Holiness for the Christian is to follow all the commands and principles of God,F.S.H.S., and Jesus, for our age. The old test. has much for us to follow, today, as they were saved also by the GRACE of God as we are, and God is the same; They just had a lot of extra customs that made the Jews to be different from the nations of the Gentile ; That wall has been torn down for us to day. But, it is obvious to me , having lived in the Philippines for almost 7 yrs, I could not worship with the natives, the language is a big barrier . I must learn their language to be acceptable to the natives. I need to stay with the educated ones. I still have a great deal of problems with even the 2nd gen. of Christians here who speak English but were taught by foreign missionarys who did not know the word of God very good. False doctrines are world wide. Fundamental Christianity is more or less a cult today, world wide. Love to all, Hoffco

1 Th 4:3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:
1 Th 4:4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

Sanctification holiness is a continuous denial of sin and living righteously
hundreds of Bible verses

it is lifelong lifestyle of saying no to sin and anythin not according to the word of God.

sanctification is not ONE STEP
it is not ONE TIME

just like abstaining from adultery is not just ONE TIME but EVERY TIME

get it?

life long
NEVER AGAIN adultery never again lying never again cheating

day after day is holiness choices moment after moment
always the right choice

one time sanctifaction is demonic error

If God makes you holy it is ONE Step. Being SET apart in sanctification is LEADING you out of Sin. You obeying is just what it says OBEYING! God glorify a person when He Puts HIS Spirit in that person. To make holy is to make GODLY, and God can only do that to a PURE heart.

Pure hearts are only pure becasue THEY ARE SANTIFIED... but that does ot make them HOLY! A pure heart is not HOLY! It is PURE. To be HOLY god has to do something to that heart.... He has to put HIS HOLINESS in it. And that happens INSTANTLY. The moment God take away the STONY heart and puts HIS HEART OF FLESH in a person God also PUTS HIS SPIRIT in the person. And that is done INTANTLY. Look here how Samaria received HOLINESS....

Acts 8: Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
Act 8:15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
Act 8:16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
Act 8:17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Please note how the SPIRIT did not FALL on any of them YET... but then ...
And look here how God PUTS HIS SPIRIT AND HEART IN US... ONE STEP.... Ezek 36:26 and 27... A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Eze 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
Note now God CAUSE you to do His will, it is not you saying no to sin it is God CAUSING you to be perfect and holy EVEN as He is.

And look how Cornelius got it in an INSTANT.... Acts 10... While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

FELL ON THEM...

Please know this... ONLY the Holy Spirit is Holy NOTHING ELSE.... It is the Holy Spirit of God that GLORIFIES a person. It is obedience to FOLLOW the Spirit that Sanctifies.... The Spirit LEADS us in santification in the Word of God. But the BAPTISM of the Holy Spirit, is God POURING out His Spirit over us to FALL on us, and so hard that it surrounds us fills us and SATURATE us FOREVER.... God says HIS SEED REMAINETH IN US that is why we sin not and CANNOT sin.... NOt avoid sin, just NEVER be part of it... 1 John 3:9 1 JOhn 5:18.... Keepeth himslef .... The SEED keepeth himslef and the wicket toucheth him NOT!

God's holiness is only given by the FILLING of the holy Spirit, and that comes when God fills us ...OVER FILL us.. Living Waters will flow form our bowels... WOW! Now THAT is HOLY.

One more thing.. God CAN ONLY FILL PURE HEARTS... Not stony hearts... Every one that has this hope PURIFIETH HIMSLEF even as HE IS pure.... 1 John 3.

I can purify the stony heart but I cannot make the stony heart on of flesh... God has to give me that fleshly heart and HIS SPIRIT.. that is how I get Holy, NO OTHER WAY... I can seperate myself from sin, by the lead of the Holy Spirit in the Word, SANCTIFY... but I cannot make myself holy, Glorify... To make Holy is to make Godly and that is called GLORIFICATION and glorification comes AFTER we are SANCTIFIED FULLY.... That is FOLLOWED Jesus all the way to SALVATION... Jesus says....
They will hate you for my Name sake but he that endureth to the end shall be saved....

Endureth is to CONTINUE to follow Him until He present you to the Father... CLEAN (purified/sanctified) and ready for Baptism.... Ready to have the Spirit FALL on your pure heart,..... WOW!

Like all of what God tells us, holiness must be a balance of many things. People who do not know scripture use many words that distort scripture, like "focus" or "only". Truth is always a balance, never extreme. We are holy through grace, but grace isn't the "only" that applies. We cannot keep working against law and keep grace. Grace is never given because of works. We must be sanctified, and keep ourselves apart from the world, but we must not be unkind to those of the world. We must listen to law, but law must include as the center the Holy Spirit. Our focus must be on God with all these things God tells us about held in the correct balance.

The prob is right under our nose, and we dont recognize how weak we are..

Therefore is it a struggle...

No arguement there,its a balance...
why there is no like option?
you said the right thing..:D

Even if we don't do worldly things,if we condemn we lost the balance.
If we sin a lot, then we might not condemn, but we still don't have balance..
To be restored,we must Pray for keeping balance...

Things are not easy, and a struggle..
Hence Godly Humility Starts Growing in us which makes us sin lesser and lesser to the Glorious Day God calls us Home to Him to be with Jesus:)

Amen it is a STRUGGLE until God decides ENOUGH! My servant has struggled ENOUGH. Now I will give him VICTORY.... And look here is how God gives it.... To be BORN OF GOD....

The MOMENT GOD PLANTS HIS SEED IN YOU..... You are a champion and sinneth not nor CAN you sin. God calls it BORN OF GOD....
1 John 3:9... Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

NOW the struggle is not within ouorselves no more but this struggle... Eph_6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Tell me about painting. There is a portion of my living room underwent repair. I wanted to repaint with the existing color. Wife wanted new color which means repainting the whole room with a new color. We are undecided.
Back to the topic. Did He change paint for the living room or did He change the way the paint is applied?
first of all, I agree with the wife, paint it all a new color!:)

I've heard it explained like this:

You go to grandma's house for a special occasion, and she has the table set with her best heirloom china. Wow! We had better be careful with these. They are not the common/plain dishes, which we'd rather use, because it wouldn't matter so much if we chipped one. In fact, we don't really like the pattern on the fine heirloom china, they are not that special to us, but they are "holy" in grandma's eyes. Grandma loves those "holy" dishes, but they are not so "holy" to us.

(I didn't convey that as well as I heard it...sorry)

But the point is, how does God see us and our heart and actions. Even our thoughts..If we are to be holy in God's eyes we need to know God's/Messiah's attributes, and become more and more like that.

Here is something shortened,...
we sin a lot even when we doubt God...

Otherwise we would be out somewhere doing Missionary work...
That's how i detect it..
:D
God doesn't look at just one prob or sin,God looks at us and look whether we are ready for His Purpose..
Rest is assured as God becomes Bigger in us:)
Now everything is included there,...
Moses had to be prepared for many years before God started using him.Because Moses was not ready/prepared...
we see things the wrong way and confirm if i stay away from doing that and this,i will go to heaven...lol
That's not how God works..NT is way above our knowledge..

The things mentioned in NT are just given for starting our journey. If people who stood strong in Faith start testifying about Divine Encounters by which they were lead we are to Realize we have been given the first stepping stone in Faith through/in Jesus.Rest we must acquire so much that being sinless will be easy as we will walk in Spiritual realms more...
Its easy for me to say am having deliverance in such and such...and that i completely forsook many things too...
But am i walking with God as He Desires?..nope...

Will of God is not our thinking of staying sinless, its putting ourselves to death and Living Christ..
(worldly pleasures will not please us any more)
That is higher than staying sinless...its a life not conformed to this world..
Heavenly Life already starts then,...

i have uttered voices in Spirit and seen things way beyond my expectations..
shock of which i had for a long time,...because it was beyond my guess...
Walking a Higher Path with God is a Learning..
Now many will be having questions about my experiences..
no prob,...i am also sometimes doubtful...but i have Realized when God starts working on our surrendered lives,we just Realize God Leads,..its not about 100% attendance in church nor i don't watch filth any more attitude.Surrendering to God's Will Awakens the Soul..

yes,its a Revelation about the crooks(satan and his horde) that we get when we are Born as a New Creation in God..
The Life in Christ is a whole new view about life..

If before it was about 'how to become big in world', after Being Born again its 'How to Follow God Completely..'
Both views must contradict for a Christian...:)

Most probably such a person will be seen as a crack by the world, since worldly fashion will not be seen on such and a God freak is seen:D

You make good points and ask good questions. I agree that Jesus was God in the flesh, that He dressed Himself in our frailty in order that He would be the perfect lamb. And He was tempted in the same ways we are, but he resisted temptations in ways that I do not understand. Being both God and man, Jesus had a unique relationship with the Father that I cannot have in this world. Nonetheless, He is my example to follow and emulate. He is with me to lift me when I am down, counsel me when I am at a loss, and lead me when I am lost. He is my intercessor, my healer, by savior.

Can we ever live blameless and holy as He did? Where I work, we have adopted a guiding principle that says that all accidents and errors are preventable. This seems counter to what our logic would have us believe. But, you know, it is really a matter of perception. If we believe that all errors and accidents are preventable,, then we a re more likely to conduct ourselves in ways that prevent them. Maybe the question should be approached in the same way. "I can lead a, obedient and sinless life." If we believe this, then maybe we can do it. But that begs the question, are we then relying on our own ability, are we rejecting God in favor of our own efforts?
I do believe. Unfortunately it's always wrongly perceived by many as relying on our own ability. That begs another question: if the Holy Spirit is in us, don't we have the power to overcome? And if we don't, shouldn't we be examining our faith?

If you go by everything Jesus said, that's your boat you sail. It's not mine. Jesus said alot, and the Holy Spirit didn't tell him to say everything he said. I realize Jesus purpose. His purpose was to die to save us from our sins, of course the Holy Spirit had him do this. Jesus had a whole lot to say during his travels on earth. That verse has absolutely no relation to what was being discussed either.
But isn't He the spoken Word of God came in the flesh? Didn't He establish animal sacrifices in the past for unintentional sins against other men and the holy things? Yes I think what He said in Matthew 5-7 has every thing to do with holiness which incidentally equates perfectness.
On the other hand, wasn't His other purpose to show man could lead a sinless life relying on the Holy Spirit?

Amen it is a STRUGGLE until God decides ENOUGH! My servant has struggled ENOUGH. Now I will give him VICTORY.... And look here is how God gives it.... To be BORN OF GOD....

that struggle continues until you are absent from the body.

1 Corinthians 15
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”[g]

55 “O Death, where is your sting?[h]
O Hades, where is your victory?”[i]

56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Cubbena I will answer you with Scripture OK.... I pray God gives me the wisdom to relay His Word to you. Amen!
To understand holy I will use the description from the Greek word Hagios... It simply means SAINT.... A Saint is HAGIOS in Greek and the expanded meaning is.... Most holy (one), Spitiually pure, morally blameless. So it looks like this person is delivered by God into HIS HOLY PRESENCE....

Let me use a person in the bible that was BORN holy and you might see what it is that makes and keeps us holy. First you have to understand there is NO degree to holiness. It is either 100% or 0%. There is no inbetween. If you understnad this then the rest is really easy....

John the Baptist... God said to His parents that he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from his mother's womb. Now! I had my spirit or still have. And that is why I CAN sin. Not have to sin but CAN sin. Every spirit can rule over sin, but only one can be HOLY! And for you to become holy you have to be made ONE with the Holy Spirit. Then your spirit is made HOLY by the Holy Spirit. John the Baptist was ONE with the Holy Spirit from birth Luke 1.

Do you see that we can CLEAN our spirits by the work of Jesus, but even a clean spirit is not HOLY. Holy Spirit is the ONLY One that can make a spirit holy. And He ONLY makes clean spirits holy.

If you have any questions about this, ask me and if you need Scripture to confirm this I will gladly give you the Scripture. And even if we are HOLY, as SAINTS are holy, God is STILL not finished with the job on us. That is why God says in Eph 4:11 to 13... That God appoints the men in office for the PERFECTING OF THE SAINTS.... See Saints are still to be perfected... And that is the EDIFYINg into the Body of Christ and the UNITY of the faith....

Ask please if I have to show Scripture to prove how God makes us GLORIOUS in Jesus and Jesus can be glorified in us.... John 17.

God bless my friend.
you are driving me nuts here :)
Your post #38 said we are already made holy. So are you saying we can be in and out and in and out of holiness in our life time
The other question which I hope would not lead to another endless strife is, does the Holy Spirit in line with the teachings in OT (remember the Leviticus verses I quoted in post #1)?
