back in february i was diagnosed with social depression, anxiety depression, and anxiety, I'm not taking any medicine for it cause i don't like taking pills. But im coming to think that i might need to re think that option. I just want ya to pray for me, i pray to God every night to lay his hand upon me and give me the strength and Guidance to over come this. I know its not easy and that its not going to go away right away. But i have faith that i'm going to get better one day.

My brother the pills they give are Spiritually called pharmakiea or in english, sorcery, they can throw the chemical balance of the brain way off and introduce many other harmful effects.

Prayer is key, but dont forget we are physical beings, our Creator created us in a certain way. Exercise can help a lot, a clean diet, and healthy hobbies. But again the is no comfort like that comfort that comes for Father Yahweh!

respectfully, may i ask why the medications for someone who is diabetic, such as insulin, are not considered sorcery ? or do you consider insulin a form of sorcery ?

also, what about someone who is bipolar who would be in jail or the hospital or possibly dead if they did not stay on their medication ? are they sorcerers because they take medication to keep them stable ?

what about someone who takes medication for high blood pressure ?

you may argue that two of these examples ( the last and the first ) are not directly affecting the brain, but what if the brain is not healthy or 'normal,' and needs the aid of medication to function properly ?

i respectfully disagree that all medications used for mental illness are a form of sorcery and i think it naive and dangerous to surmise this conclusion and share this assumption.

Do you feel trapped? You find yourself locked in habits you cannot break. You're a Christian and this sort of thing doesn't happen to Christians - or so you've been told. You can break free! The Bible warns repeatedly that all Christians will struggle against Satan. While the conflict is real, so are the answers. This solidly biblical book reminds us that our struggle involves more than sinful desires and psychological disorders.

This 3 part series of teaching by David Legge on audio and video is a very powerful message series that can set you free:

Prayers to those who struggle with depression, far to many people have to deal with this unfortunately..friends and family included all you can do is just love them through it, and be persistant about encouragement anyway possible. and remember no one is defined by there problems or condition, we are all beautiful creations whose lives are impacted by the weight of the world and the people in it, just remember Gods promises to you because he will not betray you as mankind can and so often has..my prayer is for all of us to overcome any obstacle that keeps us from being the full people that God would have us be..sincerely.all my best to you all!

Any person knows mental or body (physical) illnesses are NOT a form of sorcery.

"Sorcery" could be that -that I would use- when I like to change my normal brain condition to be "high" on drugs, when I drink coffee to be largely awaken, etc. What about viagra when a normal person DOES NOT need it to correct a normal function?

That was a legalistic and ill biased opinion, friend.

Get real fellow!

It's obvious you don't know a thing about what you are talking about, so I suggest you don't give stupid advice like the above!

I have been put in complete isolation by my elderly body, blind eyes, lack of hearing, family who has disowned me, and the death of all my close friends. That is a situation that often brings on mental illness, so my entire days are spent in coping, and keeping sanity.

I find that is a matter of being very practical about the Lord, and keeping His healing ways on my mind minute by minute. It doesn't really help to give myself platitudes I have to live them. When an 'ain't it awful" thought comes, it must be replaced with what the reality of God's care and love is. When wishing my family was there for me comes, I have to replace it with sending blessings, writing a history of our family so the family in generations to come can know roots, putting together an album of pictures with note on each, with actually doing something loving.

I find that every triumph I have over negative thinking helps in my fight against depression.

I feel your pain friend. I have struggled with depression, had it for years. I have good news, you can get rid of it, I did. I tried a few meds for short times...to figure out which one worked for me. I didn't like the effects and gave up on them quickly. I think that made enough of a change but the thing that helped me most was speaking with a counselor, she really helped me. Also there are natural ways that help like drinking milk, taking b vitamins, aromatherapy, music therapy (such as binaural beats and hemi sync music) also eat oatmeal it helps induce positive thinking and shower every day, maybe fit in a bath at least twice a week. I have also heard that St.John's wart helps too, although DO NOT take it if you are any other meds, ask you doctor first. I still have anxiety and have yet to curb it but these things that I have mentioned help with both anxiety and depression. These conditions are brought on by trying to be strong for to long...Strong in a way that is damaging to ourselves. Once we figure out how to be strong while being in peace with ourselves, and learn that we matter equally with everyone else and know what our triggers are THEN the healing truly begins. Take care of yourself before you help others so that you can also be strong for them. Get to truly know yourself.

Also take nature walks! I learned a big thing about these issues is that we become disconnected with what God created. What is natural to us. Being in buildings and the city takes a bigger tole on us then we realize. We need nature to clear our minds and body. If you cant get out for a hike at least walk of grass bare foot for a while.. studies have shown that the dew on the grass induces happy feelings! :D

I will take a barefoot walk in the grass. I do enjoy an occasional Mountain Dew, I attribute the resulting happy feeling to the caffeine.

I think lots of times something in our lifestyles causes us to get depressed. It's helpful to pray all day long, whether we are depressed or not.

There are natural Yahweh created ways to heal.

Revelation 18:23, "And the light of a lamp will shine no more at all in you. And the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride will be heard no more at all in you--for your merchants were the great men of the earth; for by your sorceries all the nations were deceived."

sorceries is word #5331 - pharmakeia
Strong's (Greek Dictionary of the New Testament)
#5331 - φαρμακει´α
pharmakeia; from φαρμακευ´ω pharmakeuō (to administer drugs); the use of medicine, drugs or spells

Thayer's (New Testament Greek-English Lexicon)
From G5332; medication ("pharmacy"), that is, (by extension) magic (literal or figurative):—sorcery, witchcraft

Greek Word Study (Transliteration-Pronunciation Etymology & Grammar)
1) the use or the administering of drugs
2) poisoning
3) sorcery, magical arts, often found in connection with idolatry and fostered by it
4) metaph. the deceptions and seductions of idolatry

Official Report: Psychiatry: Hooking Your World on Drugs

"Little surprise then that worldwide statistics show that a rapidly increasing percentage of every age group, from children to the elderly, rely heavily and routinely on these drugs in their daily lives. Global sales of antidepressants, stimulants, antianxiety and antipsychotic drugs have reached more than $76 billion a year... In fact, close study reveals that none of them can cure, all have horrific side effects, and due to their addictive and psychotropic (mind-altering) properties, all are capable of ruining a person’s life. Consider also the fact that terrorists have used psychotropic drugs to brainwash young men to become suicide bombers. At least 250,000 children worldwide, some as young as seven, are being used for terrorist and revolutionary activities and given amphetamines and tranquilizers to go on “murderous binges” for days. Yet these are the same drugs that psychiatrists are prescribing children for “learning” or “behavioral” problems. Understanding society’s skyrocketing psychiatric drug usage is now even more critical than ever. Internationally, 54 million people are taking antidepressants known to cause addiction, violent and homicidal behavior."

One of the best ways to combat depression is to exercise. Simple walking is wonderful. As often as possible - 30 minutes or more. Much less expensive than therapy or drugs. I am not saying therapy or drugs are a part of the solution, but exercise is SOO important to combating mental health issues (depression, anxiety...)

Some days every little thing makes me cry...even a snarky look from someone in a store or something..everyone just seems so mean and cruel and unfriendly. Dirty looks always bring tears to my eyes.. :(

Ask your doctor about low dosage therapy. It allows you to receive the medication necessary without being in a "medicated state" and at the same time. Wake up early, get outside more often, and work out more often. Staying inside and out of the Sun can cause a misrepresentation of time allowing for an anxiety attack, which often happen at night or in solitude. Also, working out releases serotonin which is a chemical that tells the body that all is well, as does exposure to the Sun.
