My point is whether it is a symbol of our obedience or part of the supernatural, water baptism is required by Christ. I should say it should be intended, many Christians were martyred prior to their baptism, but they all intended to do so, because it was commanded by God, which makes it a necessity.
You seem to me to be under Law and are doing in fear od not being saved if you do not do what is required.
Which makes void Christ:
Romans 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us
Romans 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Romans 14:9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
And any adding to what is done is maybe you think unbelief in the finished work, where his death cleansed us in front of Father as Holy, before you or I were born here on earth from the womb, the water we were made in and born through, born in the son of Adam, dead to the Spirit of God, in need of Life, the Life of God's Spirit to lead us into truth, truth that sets one free.
the works project is very clear in the Law given to the first chosen through Moses, where no one could eve3r be perfect, and when Christ came he revealed this imperfection of us all being born first in the flesh as Son's of Adam you think?
How can unredeemed flesh be perfect, whether water Baptized or not? Can it be, it is unredeemed right?
So what is better to be a Johnny do-good er and look at me and what I am doing, watch my smoke?
Or reckon oneself dead to self with Christ at the death of Christ, then might see the new life in Spirit and truth as Paul said in Phil 3
