The bible clearly states that we are to confess our sin to another. My biggest and most deep struggle is with my eyes. It seems there are pretty girls showing skin everywhere and I really want to look and sometimes do. I wish God would lift this burden from me. I wonder if it is the same thorn that Paul eluded to. At any rate, I have lust in my heart and I proclaim that in Christ I have victory. Any of you other men struggle with this?

Do not think such confessing to be good idea.

But if you like:
Last Friday I slept over with two drunk woman (two dummy marionettes who had been used by local secret police for certain prepared provocation).

Still it is truly one of the lightest sins which I have done already and which I will do.
Upon returning to home (in front of Lord's icone) I felt myself as a prodigal dog returned to his master.

Whats wrong with looking at women? They are all beautiful, nothing wrong with admiring beauty IMHO. Be respectful.

It's so easy on a forum like this, especially for those of us who have been walking with Jesus for a long time, to appear pious and without blemish, but in fact, the bible tells us in john 1:8, if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth in not in us. There are so many flaws in my character that I wouldn't even know where to begin. But what I do know is that the spirit that lives in me cries out for Jesus.

Are you a follower of Christ? Am I to assume you had intercourse with those two women?

Be sure, I am a christian (though a sinfull one).

Even do not know what you suppose to be "slept over" other than bodily intercourses

Is this common practice for you?

Such provocations (organised by authorities) are very rare occassions in my life.

But, why do you interested in other's sins???
And why have you put publicly, such sofisticated sin as inner lust after woman???
Had you done it for futher warming yourself by an idea that acctually you are a righteous christian "walking in the light"????

In last case you are a worst sinner than the rest, because of secret delight of illussion of own justness is a direct way to pharisaic pride.

The best way of confession of sins is church service.

What are you a secret agent man or something? What do you mean when you say provocation of authorities?

Just a key person in certain area (and it is only my own business).

But, you did not answered.

Do you consider yourself a good christian (even 'walking in the light') due to smallness of your own sins????

There is no such thing as small sin. There is sin and there is not sin.

Then if there was not sin in your "deepest strugle with your eyes" (as you have written) why you started such theme???

Truly, your observing of own righteousness, is a worst sin than mine.

Cause I understand that I am a prodigal sinner. While you suppose yourself not less than a hermit "walking in the light" (due to thoughts about your greatest struggle).

Thank you for your words. Maybe you are correct on that I have elevated myself in my own heart. I will surely ponder it.

"Looking" at beautiful women, or beautiful sunsets........whatever, is not the SIN. Now, the "lust" in your heart IS THE SIN. If you continue to have "lust" in your heart, how exactly do you "proclaim that in Christ you have victory?" Seems to me you are yet to have "victory" over the sins of the flesh.........Maybe something you need to work on.

As for me the thorn is my temper........and I struggle daily with it, but I have gotten so very much better over the years. It is a process.......we are not perfect creatures, we live in a fallen creation.....and there is surely one who "wars daily" against us to try and lead us astray.........Fix your eyes on Jesus..........

Thanks for your reply. Staring at a beautiful sunset doesn't cause me to question if there is something better than my circumstance. It's like telling an alcoholic it's okay to open a beer and then sit there with it in front of him. I could go into the reasons why this is the case for me but the short of it is that I have to guard my eyes and be very diligent about it.

it's almost like this post was for me. I posted for prayers in the prayer forum over sin and this is the first post I see in the bible discussion forum. yes I struggle and I feel absolutely disgusting.

Dude. This seriously brought a tear to my eye. Thank you for sharing. My only success with this is to ruthlessly confess it to my pastors friends and wife. There are programs for your computer that will email your activity to an accountability partner. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. When I am tempted I pray like this.....God, I love you and I give this struggle to you as my worship of you. Give me the strength to not act on this desire but to make you smile down on me as I have victory over it, in you.

Much love and blessings to you my friend.

I apologize for missing your point. Can you put it another way to help me understand?
