And so in a nutshell:

Galatians 4:29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.
Galatians 4:29

Living Bible (TLB)

[SUP]29 [/SUP]And so we who are born of the Holy Spirit are persecuted now by those who want us to keep the Jewish laws, just as Isaac, the child of promise, was persecuted by Ishmael, the slave-wife’s son.

Galatians 4:29

New King James Version (NKJV)

[SUP]29 [/SUP]But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now.
This verses are TRUE,of course, BUT, they don't apply here, unless ,we come to your house and throw rocks at you. Love Hoffco:confused:

Closing out Ch.9, Paul says that Israel, as a whole, were so self righteous, like the Jew in ch. 2 was so sinful and self righteous, that, they would not trust in JESUS alone for the righteousness of God; BUT the "elect" Gentiles did trust in Jesus alone for justification. the non "elect" Jews, would not submit to Jesus for sal., They wanted to earn sal,, They were offended with a crucified Savior. Correct.

You quoted earlier 1 Cor 12:13 that says "... baptized into one body..."

This one body is Christ's one church, the GROUP that God has predestined, foreknew and water baptism is the only means to get into this predestined/foreknown group.
Thank you, and pray for me and you, for us both to be in truth, trusting Father, Son and Holy Ghost to lead us as Christ was led here on earth
I personally do not think water Baptism saves, I think water Baptism is a good conscience to Father for Christ in thanksgiving and praise, for it is Father that does the Spirit Baptism, such as when Peter preached, the Holy Spirit fell upon them before any water Baptism, even though they got water Baptized afterwards, in appreciation, for they were already born again by Father thanks to Son's perfect finished work for us all to put Faith in
Do you belief this too or are you Dogmatic as Saul was, before he became Paul
No water Baptism, no saved, and if this is it, how did the gentile then get saved before water Baptism?

It is not possible for one to trust God without obeying God, in other words, the disbodient do not trust God.
Another twist, you are seeing it one way and I am seeing the opposite,
You are saying if I read this correctly, no works no Faith?
So what came first, The Chicken or the egg? Faith or works, which is to lead?
Did Christ do any of the works?

Yes Hoffco, they may say they have Faith and really do not, without Faith in the finished work of Christ, the Son, it is impossible to please Father period

Oh how I just laughed, thank you Brother, thank you, Rocks accepted as Stephen accepted them, I glory in troubles now, Evil does not understand glorying while in adversities and is befuddles just like in the days of King Jehoshaphat, he sent out the praise and worship up front and that confused those three armies and they killed themselves
Get it it's done, finished, Christ did do it all for us to glory in while in the midst of adversity, why because Christ overcame this world, and when one is in Christ the same is for you too, and all that do believe and won't give up their belief no matter what is in front of them,
Trust is Faith, and exercising this is full blown belief, and the enemy can't touch you. I am nothing Father through Son is everything

And I say all that in humility, for Father's grace through Son is sufficient for me, and I glory in any and all iniquities that try to take me back to a works salvation.

Yes, and have you ever considered this:
The Gentile been given freely without works, freely a new life to live in Spirit and truth
Have had by Faith gotten righteous clothes put on them Christ.
Has today gone over to the First Chosen and ripped off there ragged clothes of works salvation and put them on over the righteous clothes Christ by Father has given to us, via the resurrected Christ
I know what clothes I want on ever morning, and is why I agree with father through Paul to die daily to self at the cross of Christ, so that as I die deeper and deeper I see the new life deeper and deeper

[h=3]Romans 10[/h]New King James Version (NKJV)

[h=3]Israel Needs the Gospel[/h]10 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel[SUP][a][/SUP] is that they may be saved. [SUP]2 [/SUP]For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. [SUP]3 [/SUP]For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. [SUP]4 [/SUP]For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

One might say they believe, and really do believe, yet can they get caught up in works as is shown here by Paul, who once was Saul and caught up in them prior to seeing truth that set him free from the stress he was under working so hard to be saved dogmatically, not seeing God's love to all, without reservation, you think?
So I think I need to ask God to impute God's type of Love in me and trust God will do it, you think?

YES, I SAID IT, of course I have "CONSIDED" IT, I just SAID. I, Hoffco, trust in CHRIST alone for God's righteousness that only JESUS can give me. HE earned it, "IT IS PAID" in full, by Jesus alone, 100% God. But I am not justified until I trust in Christ alone, 100% me. God will not trust for me, I must trust in Christ myself, BY God's power that saved me, He gave me the new birth, 100% God. ONLY in the eternal MIND of God, am I saved before I am saved. Rom.8:29-30 is only in the eternal mind of God. Love Hoffco ps. Justification is only a (one) part of the big picture of SALVATION. Don't miss the forest by looking at only one tree.

The ch. divisions are not inspired, so I will begin a new section with 9:30-10:21. B. God sets Israel aside for judgment, and God focuses on the Gentile world. Israel is presently a disobedient and obstinate people, for the most part.. The New Covenant age, 9:30-10:21.
The Old Testament Jews, for the most part, thought they were saved because they were God's chosen nation and had the Law of God to follow. The most of them did not understand their sinful natures nor did they take their sins seriously nor did they understand the necessity of the sacrificial system in their salvation; They did not know ,the law was to bring them to their knees as helpless sinners and beg for God's mercy represented in the sacrifice, so they were lost. God never chose to save the most of them, therefore they remain in their lost condition. Or, they would just forget God and serve the pagan gods. This is the exact situation in the church today; people think they are ok and don't need God in their lives. They are saved by by "faith alone", or they really don't need salvation, they are good moral , they don't kill, rob or steal, they are ok. Please remember sal. is a total reversal of our lives. Love to all, Hoffco

We see in Romans that the saved people are those who are "elect" by grace and saved by God's powerful transforming GRACE. Love to all, Hopffco

NOW, in this section, chs. 9-11, the theme is: Salvation comes by God unconditional election by grace apart from any works, and received by faith and witnessed to by our reception of Christ as LORD. and the non elect are left to the judgment of God. and this is all to the glory of God. Love to all, Hoffco

SeaBass, Your biased mind will not accept the straight, clear words of God on one's individual's election to salvation as God spells it out in Rom.8:29-30 "whom He foreknew", meaning individuals, not nations. and Jacob and Esau were individually elected to sal., as with every other book of the N.T.. You falsely substitute your thinking of National election. You fail to see that ,your twisted thinking says that ALL of Jacob's nation would be saved and NO one in Esau's nation would ever be save; This is totally false of both nations. Rom. 9:21-24 speaks of all humanity as one "Lump" of clay and God who takes the "vessels" for honor and the "vessels" for dishonor from the same "lump" of lost humanity. In Rom. 9:25-33 God speaks of the Gentile nations as "not My people" as opposed to Israel who are God's chosen nation, "My people" ( but only nationally not individually). But, many from the Gentiles are "elect" to sal. so, they get saved, while most of "My people" are forever lost, non elect. The baptism in Rom.6:3 must be spirit bap. not water bap. homwardbound thinks you mean, Water bap. I don't know which bap. you meant. I think you meant Spirit bap.; then ,I would agree with you, We are Spirit "born again"/"baptizted" in to the body of Christ. This does not deny that our confession of Christ in water bap. is an essential part of our sal., Peter, says "it saves", water bap. saves, in that "confession" is necessary for sal.. Love to all, Hoffco

As already explained many times, those whom God foreknew, Rom 8:29 refers to the group Christian, the group that loves God, the called, verse 28.

Jer 18:8,10; 2 Tim 2:21, the type of vessels one is formed into depends if he obeys God or not. If you do not agree that obedience (or lack thereof) is the basis God uses as to how He fashions vessels, then tell me what is the basis? Or does God just randomly fashion some into vessels of wrath?

1 Cor 12:13 is water baptism. In 1 Cor 1:14,16 Paul, being a human, water baptized some of the Corinthians himself. Since ther eis one baptism, Eoh 4:5 then 1 Cor 12;13 must also be this one water baptism Paul batized them with.

Jn 3:5-------------------spirit+++++++++++++++water>>>>>>>>>>>>>in the kingdom
1cor12:13---------------spirit++++++++++++++baptized>>>>>>>>>>>>in the body

Both verse are about the new birth and say the exact same thing giving a clear reference to water baptism.

So those that obey the command to be water baptized are baptized into that one body - the predestined, foreknown body, the church, the group Christian.

No water Baptism, no saved, and if this is it, how did the gentile then get saved before water Baptism?

Mk 16:16; Acts 2:38; Rom 6:3-5; Gal 3:27; Col 2:12-14; 1 Pet 3:21 etc teach baptism saves. No reason for me or anyone else to think otherwise. These verses teach that water baptism is just as essential to salvation as Jn 3:16; Jn 8:24; Jn 6:47 teach that belief is essential to salvation.

No verse says baptism with the Holy Spirit saves, so Cornelius was still lost in his sins until he was water baptized for remission of sins. Acts 22:16 Saul was lost in his sins until he arose and was water baptized.

There is no twisting just a simple fact one cannot trust God unless he obeys God. How credible can one be who says he trusts God but will not obey God and refuses to do what God has commanded?

The disobedient:

Are you perfect or trying to be?

The disobedient, the ones that will not obey God's will.

1 Tim 1:9 "Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,"

This verse makes a clear contrast between the righteous man and the disobedient.

Do you know what makes the difference between the righteous and disobedient/unrighteous? Obedience to God's will. Therefore no obedience = no salvation.

And no, I am not perfect but trying my best to do what is my duty to do, Lk 17:10, but still an unprofitable servant in need of grace.
