Are you dead to the law?
If you have been baptized into the Body of Christ,
then you died when Christ died (Rom 6).

Or are ye ignorant, brethren (for I speak to men who know the law), that the law hath dominion over a man for so long time as he liveth? 2 For the woman that hath a husband is bound by law to the husband while he liveth; but if the husband die, she is discharged from the law of the husband. 3 So then if, while the husband liveth, she be joined to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if the husband die, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she be joined to another man. 4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ; that ye should be joined to another, even to him who was raised from the dead, that we might bring forth fruit unto God. 5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were through the law, wrought in our members to bring forth fruit unto death. 6 But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that wherein we were held; so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.

7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Let it not be so. Howbeit, I had not known sin, except through the law: for I had not known coveting, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet: 8 but sin, finding occasion, wrought in me through the commandment all manner of coveting: for apart from the law sin is dead. 9 And I was alive apart from the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died;

Rom 7:9 is the monkey wrench in the Christian life verse!

1 Cor 15: "
The sting of death is sin; and
the power of sin is the law: but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

or keeping a day the POPE made
9he admits it)
in 321 ad

no one but pagan Roman Babylon sun worshippers worshipped on the day of the sun before 321
after 321 Constantine the demon possessed king
passed a law to have the WORLD worship on sunday and that aall who J
UDAIZE and follow the BIBLE INSTEAD should be killed.

that is where sunday came from

i love how sabbath idolaters call the pope a false teacher and a liar...and then simply -take his word for it- regarding the sabbath...

the truth is that christians...including direct followers of the apostles who certainly received the true teaching from them...were already worshipping on sunday over 200 years before constantine's edict...constantine only codified what was already widespread practice...

as i offered in another thread i can post quotations from early church writings to prove it if necessary...

anyway Satan acting like Jesus will say those who do not keep sunday are BLASPHEMING GOD and should be killed

wait and see
God will bring this very thread to your remembrance

there will be a world wide movement to kill all Sabbath keepers because they are daring to blaspheme GOD who THEY SAY changed Sabbath to sunday

this is more -projection- than anything else...

it is actually the other way around...the sabbath idolaters are the ones who have an interest in using legislation to force people to follow their sabbath keeping beliefs...for example in loma linda california the seventh day adventist cult made laws forcing its postal employees to make deliveries on sunday and not deliver on saturday...

Didn't we all touch on this subject many many times in the past? I, like some others, use my freedom in Christ to remember the Sabbath while you, like some others, use your freedom to do whatever you want. I don't accuse you being law breakers but you accuse me and some others of that? Do you always accuse of others who believe differently from you? Do you consider your understanding of the Creator is complete?

perhaps you yourself have not been involved...but i have seen -many- posts here accusing those who worship on sunday of being law breakers...i have also seen many more posts using the term 'obedience' in such a way that insinuates that those who use their freedom to worship on sunday are being disobedient...that is nothing more than stealth condemnation and many of us see right through it...

I look forward, D.V., to the perpetual sabbath in eternity when every day all day can be given fully to God (no night there, of course).

For now, many of us need to settle for only one Lord's Day per week. I work hard during the week. I am glad to take a break on Sunday and trust Almighty God to provide via work (and a little asset management) on the other days.

Although I am not saying that you are wrong for choosing Sunday as your rest day. You must know though that Sunday is not the Sabbath. The Sabbath has always been the seventh day of the week. Your dictionary will tell you which is the seventh day. You can also get this from Mark 16:1,2

"When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb[SUP]3 [/SUP]and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”

You can read from this that the Resurrection Day was on the first day of the week after the Sabbath.

Sounds good in print (ISLAGIATT) but there are three minor problems...

1) Christ was not raised from the dead on Sunday.

2) The Bible NOWHERE suggests Sunday worship.

3) The New Testament shows no examples of sunday worship.

If you check into history, you find that you can thank Constantine and the Council of Nicea for legislating Sunday worship.

another litany of false statements...

mark 16:9..."When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons."

this proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that jesus -did- rise on a sunday...

don't you ever get tired of blatantly rewriting the bible to fit your own whims?

worship on sunday is suggested by acts 20:7..."On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight."

the breaking of bread here is evidently the lord's supper and not just a common dinner party...because acts 2:42 lists the breaking of bread among the defining characteristics of the early church...

finally i refuted the false claims about constantine just a few posts ago...constantine only codified what the early church...including students of the apostles themselves...had been doing for over 200 years already...

I did and I am not found anything said otherwise Sabbath is one of things which are a mere shadow of what is to come.

The real sabbath is Jesus.

Your understanding of the Sabbath is deficient. There is both a ceremonial and a Sabbath which a moral requirement. The ceremonial Sabbath was taken away at the cross but not the Sabbath which was given at Creation and part of the Ten Commandments.

The Cunday cults make an idol of Sunday and it isnt even in the bible

a cult is FOLLOWING MAN

Keeping sunday is following MAN since it is not in the Bible AT ALL ANYWAHERE

why not keep Sabbath and being OBEDIENCE?

Obedience is REQ
UIRED for heaven no matter what the once saved always saved nicolaitians say.

God says all your righteousness (obedience to law) are as filthy rags.
And you say obedience is REQUIRED for heaven.
You or anyone else can't possibly get to heaven through obedience because filthy rags aren't allowed in heaven.
Even observing the Sabbath on Saturday the sixth day won't get you closer to heaven one bit.
If you have broken the least of these commands you have broken them ALL.
Before in OT, righteousness was works of the law it was something grasped for, something to admire, today in the NT, Jesus is that works of the law, something grasped for, something to admire.
We put our focus on Christ not on keeping the Sabbath.
Should we remember the Sabbath to keep it holy? yes. Can we? No. And the reason I say no is because even if you believe you are keeping the Sabbath law, your not, cause you aren't perfect and it's that simple. Only Christ can and only you can (no matter how perfectly close you think you are but aren't in all truth), through Christ.
You do what you do on the Sabbath, but don't confuse Sabbath with Sunday, and don't mock God by pointing fingers at anyone who worships God on Sunday. Worship and Sabbath are not the same or even close. Do you Sabbath God or do you worship God perhaps ON Sabbath!
How about this; If you feel in your heart that observing Sabbath is a good thing, do it by all means, but do it for the right reason, and to know the right reason first. And always question your teacher to assure accordance of scripture.
Do you feel following the law of Sabbath (obedience) justifies you for righteousness to enter into heaven? What other THINGS shall we say I guess you call it obedience requirement are you obliged to consider to enter heaven? I'm just curious.

In red italics is from Directline..

Are you teaching others to be disobedient? Why should the good laws be a burden to anyone who has been saved by grace? Yahweh says He considers disobedience the same as witchcraft.

It is very easy to say we do not earn heaven by obedience, yet it is written anyone who deliberatly sins after he is saved has no recourse.

Do not knit warm and fuzzy duds out of the truth, for we will all endure trials. Obeying the Father is not a burden for anyone who has received grace by the Blood of the Lamb.

Yes, it is a free gift, but after having received it one is expected to conduct his affairs accordingly.

Now if one is not obedient by design, by choice, he is the same as a witch. You do not want this, nor do I. I pray you follow the teachings of the Word, Yeshua, as closely as possible, and keep on the Way given you by Yeshua, amen.

It is written I would rather have mercy than sacrifice, It is written ALL sins are forgiven except the sin of speaking against the HS.

Boy, the whole world must not be saved yet according to your writings or everyone is going to burn. All have sined, whether deliberate or not whether saved or unsaved even today. Sad either way ...YOU ...look at it. I see a GRACIOUS loving warm kind affectionate sacrificing coming to us cause we wouldn't go to Him very forgiving MERCY FULL God.

should say, Saturday the seventh day....

Please try to relate to the post you are attempting to reply to, otherwise I cannot make much sense out of it. Saturday is part the Seventh Day, then it goes into the first day at sunset. The sixth day begins Thursday sunset and continues to Friday sunset. Please reply with understanding. Thank you, and may God bless you.

IT says shadow of things to come. future. the 7 day Sabbath of the forth commandment primarily points back not forward.

Where does it say in the bible that resting in Christ takes the place of the Sabbath?

Sorry, and I'll try to say things more simple for you to understand. You can't edit a post after 5 minutes so I put the edit on my next post from my last post which was post #188. Makes sense to me and I'm pretty simple minded.

Directline to I Am. You are skirting the points made in posts. If you wish to just address what is going on in your mind, please post a new thread, thank you.

I'm sorry, do you have a mental problem or something I should be aware of? Otherwise, could you kindly stop derailing and also causing me to derail? Or do you prefer I say it more bluntly?

Jesus said He is our Sabbath. i don't consider myself being in a cult, but i do idolize Jesus. He is my idol.

If Jesus picked corn on Sabbath, then i think its ok for me to pick corn on Sabbath. Jesus said if our donkey falls in a ditch on Sabbath, to pull it out. Then if my donkey falls in ditch on Sabbath i will pull it out. Have a wonderful Sabbath.
