Coca Cola will actually remove corrosion from a car battery. We used it on mine. It worked. Now think about that next time you sip on a coke.

P.S. I love coke, but after we used it on my car battery I weened off of it.

If this was a Coke vs. Pepsi thread, I'd say Coke.

But I'm not supposed to have caffeine, so I drink neither. Faygo Orange is my fav.

Not sure about Coke being the Devil's temptation, I'd worry more about stuff you can't buy in a store...

Elizabeth, you have a good point. If it will remove battery acid corrosion, just think what it does to us!

Pssst...there's an even stronger solution of hydrochloric acid already in your stomach. And you know what else removes battery corrosion just as well as Coke? Vinegar. Uh oh. Better stop eating anything made with vinegar now. ^_^

One of my friends works as a nurse in the Gastroenterology department of a hospital in Sydney. Believe me, his stories are so gut-wrenching (yes, literally!) that they will make you stop drinking Cola for the rest of your life. It made me stop. He has had 16-year old kids come in with their intestines all burnt because of excessive Cola. These kids cannot (poop) normally anymore as their intestines are permanently damaged so they now poop in a bag.

My classmate used to be an excessive Pepsi drinker. All he had for breakfast, lunch and dinner was Pepsi and weed (no kidding!). Well within a month his body shrivelled. He had so many procedures and consultations done on him. Eventually he had to restart his diet all over again. Imagine a grown 26-year old guy being advised to start off with one slice of an apple a day! Then it went to two slices, then half an apple, then apple and a banana and so on. I don't know whether he has fully recovered, but I hope he has.

So, yes, Cola is just bad for you. But it's not a devil's temptation. You can pamper yourself once in a while but don't drink it daily and DO NOT drink it on an empty stomach.

^I'm guessing you are talking about an ostomy when referring to poop in a bag?

I only drink pop once in a while... Like if I go out to eat or hang out with friends. Luckily I don't feel the effects of caffeine and so never feel like I have to have caffeine. I like ice water the best. :)

It just takes self control... Instead of drinking pop, choose water or tea. Juice is ok but that has a lot of sugar too. After a while you'll get better at choosing healthier drinks... You decide what your hand gives you to drink... So yeah...

Do any of you drink Coca-Cola. I think it's fine to drink it.
BUT, I've been drinking A LOT of it the last couple of days. And I can litteraly feel how it's ruining my brain,
as in I havent been focused enough to read the last 3 days. ANd I always read. + Coca cola is an addiction.

What do y'all think about Coca-cola?
Just stick to green tea and lemon from now on. :)

Fenner. What did you do? Because Cola is no joke. I tried to stop many times, and do a cold turkey. but it never worked. Any advice?

I started drinking unsweetened iced tea with Stevia. I don't know if you have the liquid water flavor in your country, bit we have some good sugar free one's here, Crystal Light is one of them. I also drank flavored seltzer water, that helped because of the carbonation. I don't drink anything carbonated now and my stomach is much better for it.

Really?? I am shocked! Someone needs to start a petition to put caffeine in root beers!

Barks, I think that's how you spell it, has caffeine. That's why they call it the one with bite.

Yes, I meant ostomy (I think that is what it is! :p). Actually ice water is not good for your health. It has its own ill-effects. Drinking ice water will cause your body temperature to drop rapidly. To fight this, your body will overwork itself to generate more heat in order to achieve normal body temperature. This is not good for you in the long run. So you see, everything has its good and bad. Now what do we drink? Just water. Plain water. Life.is.so.fun. :\

I think soda can be a bad habit.
My general rule is drink 2 cups of water for anything else you drink.
Maybe your addicted to the caffeine, so start drinking coffee instead of coke, same buzz without all of that sugar. Too much sugar makes you feel miserable.

Also don't store any pop in your house. If its in the house its hard to resist. Lock yourself in the house, throw the key out the window to your friend and tell him to let you out when your weaned.:pc)

Hmmm. Maybe dilute it or something? To fool your brain to make you think you drink more than you do?

The chemicals!!!! Oh noes!!!!

All the chemicals are teh evils! Did you know that the sodas contain a chemical called dihydrogen monoxide that is often lethal if inhaled? All chemicals should totally be banned, because it's the Freemasons trying to brainwash us into joining the Illuminati!
OH NOES! You laugh! But this chemical has been the cause of many deaths these past few years!!
Its so addicting that cold turkey-withdrawels can be fatal.
You know the Illuminati is putting this chemical in planes and chemtrail spraying us and making this chemical fall down on everything!!!!!
Dihydrogen monoxide is so deadly that excessive exposure will cause your skin to go wrinkly and get all pale!
Even though small amounts cause hydration, if inhaled, death will occurr within minutes!!!
Its the illuminati! We all have to stand up and resist the chemicals!! We should petition in the streets to ban it!
I bet we could get plenty of folks to sign it. :p

It is all part of their turfunkulate plan. I will drink copious amounts. Maybe it kills pain too.

Then again, we don't go around drinking bottles of vinegar.

I don't like soda, since I was 5 or 6 I've had a negative reaction to the carbonation, though for some really odd reason I can handle a drink made with sparkling water. It doesn't bother me even a quarter as much as regular soda. I mean, I still don't drink it in large amounts and it'd take me 2 days to get through 12 ounces.

The caffeine and the high fructose corn syrup, on the other hand are probably what keeps you hooked. I'm not sure what different kinds of chemicals are in it, but I doubt we should be drinking it on a regular basis.

Pepsi tastes much better. (Then again, I barely ever drink either nowdays. I've switched to Appletizer),

Is that beverage like sparkling apple juice? Actually, I rarely drink pop. Next time I go to my local super Walmart I will see if Appletizer is stocked on the shelves. I will probably require a six-pack.

Take your pick of carbonated beverages, they will all clean battery terminals because of the carbonation (Co2), the higher the carbonation level the better it works. A solution of baking soda in water works the same way for the same reason.

Barks, I think that's how you spell it, has caffeine. That's why they call it the one with bite.

Actually it's spelled "Barq's". "Barq's has bite" actually references the flavor, not the caffeine. Most large name root beers (A&W, Mug, etc) have a smooth creamy flavor whereas Barq's has kind of a spicy bite.
