I once was alive apart from the Law.

Sin, receiving a start point through a law, deceived me and I died.

The command which I thought was for life, was for death. Oh, how that sin deceived me.

To those who are learning to know the Law, do you not know that the Law has dominion over (rule over, is lord over) one as long as he lives?

Through the body of Christ, we have died to that old lord and are now free to marry our new Husband.

To those who are learning to know the Law, do you not know that sin is dead without a law? Do you not know that sin is not imputed where there is no law? Why then revive sin by introducing your last husband, the law, into your grace filled marriage with your new husband, Jesus, indeed the Lord of those who have died to the Law.

Excellent post Brother

Maybe, what is happening is one swings too far one way and then too far back the other way, like leaves on a tree. The wind blows this way then that way, and people are like leaves and decide to stand on the branch and hold on, until the branch breaks and we are still lost.

So what does the tree itself depend on to be alive? The roots right? And the roots need solid ground and water to stay firm and solidly alive. So the leaves and branches need to depend on the tree, The tree is Christ, and the Husbandman is Father who sustains us all in Mercy and truth over sacrifice. So we by agreement just love all, whether we agree or not
God does just love us, today is the day to respond and maybe stop acting like a God and creating, we are the creation right? Not the creator.
I just see LOVE as the fulfillment of all Law, and if I do not love all, then I do not understand this unfathomable love of God through Son. Peter kill and eat, Don't call anything unclean what the Lord has cleaned, and the Spirit moved Peter against Law to the Gentile house of Cornelius, and entered into a Gentile house and preached the word, which was and is against Jewish Law is it not?
Freed from stress and worry to be free to just love all, get it I pray

And the Christ is from the stump of Jesse.
Let's not boast against the branches and the root.

Indeed He's the Word of God who spoke through Moses and again spoke in the flesh. The problem is,
some think He came and rendered what He previously said, at least in part, obsolete.
Some believe the word spoken to us by the Son in these last days (Heb 1:1-2)
through the NT writers which reveals that some is obsolete:
the Sinaitic Covenant (Heb 8:13),
the Levitical priesthood (Heb 7:11-12),
the law that was useless to make righteous (Heb 7:18-19).

Why don't you believe the words spoken to us by the Son in these last days through the NT writers?

However, in dealing with the seducer, He said "man does not live on bread alone but by
every word that comes from the mouth of God."
Every word.
And that includes Heb 7:11-12, 18-19, 8:3.

the root being...?

as Christians, we guard against elevating anyone or anything above the Lord, right? :)

Rev. 22:16
I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.

And the Christ is from the stump of Jesse.

If I am to boast in anything it is Yeshua and Yehweh, Yeshua crucified for us to give us new life in him, thanks
