It's outrageous.

On wednesday when I went to church gas was $3.52. When I left it was $3.62. I said "Oh, Lord, we must not have been prayin' for the right stuff!"

I was reading last week about how wonderful it is for Iran that the wars surrounding them are driving up the old prices from which they profit.

Ironic how a country that makes money on oil, has a name like an activity that takes place on foot.

I am never buying a car in my life, or at least until hydrogen or other cars based on renewable resources are cheap.

I'm thinking a trusty pack mule is the only way to go--that would be my younger brother. When I went to visit him in Europe, we were late for a train and I was slowing down the process... so he grabbed my backpack, probably a good 50 lbs., was carrying his OWN pack as well, took off running, and I STILL couldn't keep up with him. Not bad for a skinny white boy.

Unfortunately, I couldn't convince him to lug around my stuff for the rest of the trip. And I probably couldn't get him to do it now, either.

*Sigh.* Second job, anyone?

Vegetable oil as a diesel replacer works miracles. Just not on your fuel filter.

We can all actually convert our cars to use water instead of gas, and it is supposedly not a complicated procedure. A pastor did this a few years ago and tried to promote it. There was a man who invented and patented the water-powered car and tried to promote it too in the 90's and he ended up mysteriously poisoned to death (see news article below). The media and the oil industry are suppressing this information. In Japan 2 years ago a company built a car that runs on water (see video below). It gets about 80km per liter! Thats close to 200miles per gallon (of water, not gas!). It is designed to be sold to the public yet hardly anyone has heard about it.

Last I checked, water was pretty expensive already :p
Plus it can't get me to my classes 75 miles away each morning. Nor can electric cars.

Now if the US actually utilized the oil resources we have just waiting for us to tap into, we can get our country quickly into energy independence. Sadly, the eco/green people are blocking a way to keep costs down in the US. When the Middle East is completely controlled by Islamic rule, they have all the means to deny the US oil, driving the cost up even higher.

Ok, now that I read the article, it says 100 miles to the ounce? Not bad... and better than that Japanese video.

When they get cars running on water to be efficient in power as well as consumption then we can talk.

Im currently trying to take a leaf out of the book of most european countries and put the sexy and affordable back into cycling.
Given that the city I live in is recovering from a major earthquake and well as enduring constant aftershocks. Our small city (over 300,000 persons) now has the worst traffic jams in the country and I tell you now there nothing more satisfying than travelling quicker than most cars lol. Im planning to update and get a mountain bike with decent tread on the tires.
Our roads are bumpy and gritty and dusty because of the earthquake repairs so I probably look less sexified with my dust mask and hardware glasses, and also Im usually sweaty by the end of a bike ride
HOWEVER
I am losing weight and my legs (especially my calf muscles) have gone from straight fat to pure muscle, and my energy throughout the day has increased.

I reccommend it :)

About 3.50 here.

I was thinking that this might be about the other gas :p. You know, the kind that's created by the bacteria in our guts... Lol.

Three and a half years later I can't help but wonder if Stilly suffers from saddle sores or badly calloused feet now. :p
