O, death, where is thy sting? O, grave, where is thy victory? THE STING of DEATH is SIN; and the strength of sin is the LAW.

Yes the wages of sin is death. Death can only sting people through sin and sin is only empowered by law because it is rebellion which kills. Without law a rebellious act cannot take place. Thus Adam died the day he rebelled and every person after him likewise died the day they rebelled.

Adam sinned willfully which resulted in spiritual death...yes or no?.....
Adam brought sin which brought death....yes or no?
People (according to the bible) will die (in their sins) and a lost state if not forgiven...yes or no?
To die in sin and not be forgiven equals an eternally lost state...yes or no?
Yet you were not in Adam when he sinned and you are not accountable for what Adam did. You are accountable for your own sin. Spiritual death was not inherited from Adam. We are all born alive to God for we have not turned out back on Him yet, just like the Prodigal Son was with his father in the beginning. He took his inheritance and left and that was when he died.

Psalm 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.....
Yes David indeed was shapen in iniquity and was conceived in sin. David is speaking about being born into a corrupt sinful world. He doesn't say "iniquity was in me at birth" or "in me was sin when I was conceived." You are forcing the text to say what it is not saying.

I was born in a hospital. A hospital was not born in me. I was conceived in my parents bed. My parents bed was not in me.

Why is that hard to understand? The Jews NEVER used Psalm 51:5 to prove Original Sin, in fact they never taught Original Sin. Isn't that strange? Original Sin wasn't accepted into orthodoxy until the Fourth Century with Augustine. It was from then that people began to search for Bible verses where they could force it upon the text.

However, there does seem to be an undetermined amount of time applied unto all children that keeps them safe under the blood until they have reached the ability to comprehend what it means to be in sin and lost before God in your standing before the throne....as LOST...

You just make that up to try and soothe your conscience because you believe that babies are born already spiritually dead and condemned. There reason that there is nothing like that in the Bible is because Original Sin is false and that babies are not born dead and condemned.

Can you see how one lie forces you to adopt another?

Born condemned and evil according to many who profess God is righteous and just.

Many believe that God wants to pour out His wrath on little children like these simply because they were born evil.

Absurd dogma leads to absurd notions.

So little babies are Totally Depraved and deserving of hell yet God will allow a child molester who is addicted to his sin enter the kingdom because he trusts in the finished work on the cross (ie. Penal Substitution view of the Atonement).

1 Cor. 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the [believing] wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the [believing]husband; else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. Infants and children are set apart by their believing parents or parent.

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. . . . For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

"Spiritual death was not inherited from Adam" - Did Adam physically die "for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die"? Wasn't Adam's connection to God broken at that time? Isn't that why we have to be reconciled back to God by Jesus Christ?

Is that true? Did Jesus Christ die in your place?
By "die in your place" is meant that in death Jesus suffered for us the wrath of God (Ro 5:9)
due on our guilt of sin.

If Jesus died in your place then why did Jesus teach that we must die?

Mar 8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Mar 8:35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but
whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
To deny Christ to save one's (physical) life will lose one's (eternal) life.
To follow Christ may cost the loss of one's (physical) life, but it gains one's (eternal) life.

Where is "must die" for my sin here?

The cross is an instrument of death.
Did Jesus die in the place of Paul?
Yes, in his death Jesus suffered the wrath due on Paul's guilt of sin.

Did Paul follow Christ's example and die with Christ?
Read Ro 6:1-4 again.

Dying with Christ is not a physical death.

Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Crucified is not a physical death, but

crucified the sinful nature (Gal 5:24),
crucified to the world, and the world to him (Gal 6:14),
crucified to sin, as Christ was crucified for sin (Ro 6:8-10),
crucified to the law (Ro 7:6)
crucified to slavery to sin and freed from slavery sin (Ro 6:7).

What is the correlation between loosing one's physical life to gain one's eternal life (Mk 8:35) and
being crucified to sin as Christ was crucified for sin (Gal 2:20)?

Skinski7ism does not make any Biblical sense.

Can you find anywhere in the Bible where it is taught that "Jesus died in our place"?
I can't. I can find where the Bible teaches that Jesus died on our behalf but not in our place.
Addressed in the first response above.

Did Jesus really pay the penalty for our sins? Where does the Bible teach that?
Egregious re-writing of the NT in the unbelief of Skinski7ism.

It is first found in the OT, in the sin offering, where the sinner laid his hands on the head
of the live sacrificial animal (Lev 1:4, 4:4), confessing his sin (Lev 5:5) and laying them on the animal,
who then paid, in the sinner's place, the penalty of death for his guilt,
whereby his sins were forgive (Lev 4:20, 26).

Then it is found in the NT in 2Co 5:21:

"God made him who had no sin to be a sin offering for us,
so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

The OT sin offering paid, in the sinner's place, the penalty of death for his guilt.

The penalty for all sin is the wrath of God on the guilt of the sinner.
Jesus saved those who believe in him (Jn 3:36) from that wrath (Ro 5:9)
by receiving it in their place (
Is 53:5; 1Pe 2:24).

How is a debt being forgiven when that debt is still being paid for in full?
If Jesus paid the penalty due for sin then God is not forgiving sin.
Look up the meaning of "forgiveness." (Gr: aphesis).
It is an accounting term (Mt 6:12, 18:27, 32, etc),
used in regard to sin (Mt 9:2, 5, 6; Ac 8:22; Ro 4:7, etc.)

It means cancellation of a debt by payment of it.
In accounting, a debt is forgiven when it is paid,
either by the debtor, or someone else who absorbs the cost of the debt.

What if. . .wishes were horses. . .then beggars would ride.

Scripture is not subject to "what if."

instead of Jesus paying a sin debt He was instead offering Himself on behalf of sinners as a means by which
people could approach God whereby sin would be actually forgiven and not paid for?
That is what the book of Hebrews teaches.
You can't know what Hebrews teaches if you don't know what "forgiveness" actually means,
and you don't.

The book of Hebrews goes into great depth about the death of Christ and His blood.
It says not a single word on Jesus paying the penalty for your sins.
So? Neither does Jude, or Phm, or. . .

It's all said in "God made him to be a sin offering for us." (2Co 5:21)
The sin offering paid the penalty of death for the sinner's guilt.

The NT couldn't be any clearer on the matter.

The penalty for sin is. . .spiritual death.
Nope. . .the penalty for sin is eternal death,
which is why the sacrificial animal had to die--to symbolically show the penalty for sin is (eternal) death.

"Spiritual death" and "eternal death" are not the same thing.

Spiritual death is no Holy Spirit life in one's spirit.
We are born in spiritual death (Eph 2:3), and are raised to eternal life in the new birth.

Eternal death is eternal separation from God and experience of his eternal "displeasure,"
because our sin has not been forgiven through faith in Jesus Christ.

Jesus never spiritually died.
Right, because spiritual death is no Holy Spirit life in one's spirit.
Only unregenerate mankind is born in spiritual death, and under the wrath of God (Eph 2:3; Jn 3:36).

God did not punish Jesus as a sinner. God would be unust if He did that. It is not justice to punish an innocent with the penalty for the guilty and then let the guilt go free. That is not justice.
Pure unbelieving finite human reasoning of Skinski7ism, with which

God disagrees in Is 53:5; 2Co 5:21.

Take it up with him.

Jesus was raised from the dead as a pattern of the new birth by which we overcome sin.
Not according to the NT.

Jesus was physically raised from the dead as the pattern of our physical resurrection,
as proof that he had overcome death, and as proof that he was who he said he was.

Spiritual life follows the death of the old man.
Nope. . .Holy Spirit life only follows belief in Christ.

Jesus did not give Himself to pay our sin debt.
God disagrees in 2Co 5:21; Is 53:5.

Take it up with him.

God freely forgives our sin debt
There is no free cancellation of debt, someone absorbs its cost.

If I forgive my debtor without his paying the debt, I am absorbing its cost, paying the debt for him,
and I am out the money of the debt.

There is no free cancellation of debt. Someone absorbs its cost.

And thus we have the egregious re-writing of the NT in the unbelief of Skinski7ism.

Elin,

For all your words you cannot post a single verse or passage which clearly teaches that human beings are "born" spiritually dead. Your premise is purely one of rhetoric upon which you quote a few verses as if they prove that rhetoric. You are simply unable to refute anything I have written which is clearly evident in everything you have posted above. Name calling is what you have left and is what you excel at.

Your religion is pretty much this...

1. God demands that people obey Him. God demands holiness.
2. People are incapable of fulfilling this demand because they are born sinful.
3. God condemns people for not doing that which they are unable to do.
4. God elects a few from these disabled people and enables them to trust him yet still leaves them in a corrupted disabled state.
5. God has pent up anger which must be satisfied in some way, so he sends his son to die and punishes him instead of those he elected.
6. God then pretends that the corrupted and disabled people he elected are righteous like his son.
7. Thus with the wrath issue settled and by pretending that the corrupted and disabled people are righteous he allows them into the kingdom when they die.
All, and more, previously addressed more than once, the latest in post #78, here, and in post #85, here.

You have not addressed Ro 4:5, nor Ro 8:7-8, nor Eph 2:3, nor Is 53:5, nor 2Co 5:21.
which completely give the lie in Skinski7ism.
