You would not teach lasciviousness. I know you would not.
Let us all be honest with ourselves. Why wouldn't we teach that? Because, God's Will for us, His righteous path is still spoken about even under the New Covenant. Indeed, our Lord is Master and a Master seeks those who obey.
Let us see what that verse says:
Act 5:32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
As pertaining to Peter and the other apostles preaching the Gospel, to whom did God give the Holy Spirit too? It was to those who 'were submitting to His authority (G3980 (to be persuaded by a ruler, to submit to those in authority))'.
If our Lord (Master) has said what is evil in His sight, then shall we not submit to His authority and love as He commanded, seeing that love does inadvertently keep in harmony to His Will He has previously told us?
Consider, my friend, your words. If it is a free ride, then there is no need for a Lord. If there is no Lord, there is no One to submit to. If there is no Lord before our eyes, then where is our Shepherd (the Lord of the righteous path)?

The law is for the lawless. They could care less about obeying it. In fact they'd like it better if it just went away by any means they could make an excuse for. Thanks for your input brother.

Jesus made a vow to His Father, and he stated that vow to Pilate.

That's why He told the disciples that the cup (during the last supper) was His last drink until that day when He would drink it new with them in His Father's kingdom. He was obligated to complete His vow. (Matthew 26:29) This is why Jesus didn't drink of the vinegar at the beginning of His crucifixion, and then when it was done He drank.
Matthew 27:34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.
John 19:29-30
29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said , It is finished : and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
The vinegar is comparable to leaven in that it is fermented like yeast which causes bread to rise. The law of a Nazirite fits with the plan of salvation even though I believe Jesus never had long hair. Nevertheless, He didn't have a chance to get it cut from the time He entered Jerusalem 4 days before His death as the Passover was secured 4 days before being slaughtered.

*(Herbs) is not in the original Hebrew text from what I could find. It has been added in the KJV

What you have stated seems to be your "assumption" that the laws are burdensome and inapplicable to Christians today. The Word of God is for all of us (Jews, Gentiles, Muslims, and some) some people will get it and be able to apply it to their lives, some will not, just the same as you cannot feed babies meat nor feed adults milk to live upon. The laws are written as they are - and the gift of wisdom from the Holy Ghost will provide clarification to those hearts who need that particular food at that time. Man does not need to attempt to clarify the Laws or the Words of God that have been written. Be careful if you are going in that direction to make your own attempt to clarify and reword or make applicable to the Christians of today of the Laws that were written before. God does not like that - if he wants someone to know or be made clear of what his word says, it will be done.

Don't worry, Pen, I believe the same as you. As you spend more time here, you'll see that very few "Anti-Law" people will actually quote the commands of the Law. My purpose in posting the commands is the opportunity for others to actually see what it says, and the wisdom and application behind them, and that they aren't burdensome. If they can't be done physically, then there is a powerful spiritual application.
interesting construction, there...'to separate themselves unto the Lord'... my thoughts, here... this is something people do themselves... to me, it says that because of mindset or experiences, people will sometimes want to do something to make themselves more separate/holier to the lord... and God Will provide something they can do... will it make them holier? probably not... will it make them feel holier? probably... is there benefit in that? probably...
Good thoughts. I would also add that it sets them apart from "normal" life in a way that will be an example to others.

First, These laws were what God instructed Moses to tell the people how to pray - acceptable prayers - to him and how conduct themselves while there for that time and for where they were located to survive.
Also, these laws are important to follow now, even after Jesus made himself a sacrifice for all of us to have the choice - weather or not to live with him in Heaven when its all over - not only to please the Lord but, to keep ourselves free from disease, and future complications within our lives.
The Laws are important as they are the WORDS FROM GODS MOUTH to our ears and hearts. When the Father - YOUR CREATOR AND MINE - speaks we should all "obey" or "simply just do" what has been told of us to do. It is for our own good then, now and in the future.
If people decide not to do or "obey" these commands then its on them to suffer the consequences. So many people have a problem with the Old Testament and the New Testament who to listen to God or Jesus does the Law still apply after Christ died, so on and so forth, it's sooooooooooooooo annoying! GOD is the creator of us all including Jesus and Jesus didn't come here to make it more confusing and or complicated - he came here for you to understand that what he says and what his father says is the same - it's for our benefit - our good. Just do it!

The Laws are important as they are the WORDS FROM GODS MOUTH to our ears and hearts. When the Father - YOUR CREATOR AND MINE - speaks we should all "obey" or "simply just do" what has been told of us to do. It is for our own good then, now and in the future.
If people decide not to do or "obey" these commands then its on them to suffer the consequences. So many people have a problem with the Old Testament and the New Testament who to listen to God or Jesus does the Law still apply after Christ died, so on and so forth, it's sooooooooooooooo annoying! GOD is the creator of us all including Jesus and Jesus didn't come here to make it more confusing and or complicated - he came here for you to understand that what he says and what his father says is the same - it's for our benefit - our good. Just do it!

I think the question on these boards is, which commands are we obligated to obey.
(which Covenant are we part of)
But as regards your last paragraph...we are in Christ because of His perfect obedience for us,
not our imperfect obedience for Him.
He saved us before we had done anything good...at all.
In Christ God set His love upon us, cleaned us up (forgave us), and made us part of His Family.
While we were still sinners! ♥
And whatever 'good' thing I do will always be a mixture...never pure righteousness.
The ten commandments--all of God's Perfect Law-- are not a primer on how to be good.
They're a primer on how to be perfect.
The reason I say it's a free ride is because there's not one thing I could have done...
could ever do...that would be good enough to merit eternal life.
"My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness."
Not to discount obedience. But my imperfect obedience, even as a Christian, is not what gets me in,
nor what keeps me in the Kingdom.
The gift of Righteousness was costly to God, but to us it's free. And we had better thank God it is.
No way to earn it (we cannot). It's a gift. The Holy Spirit is given to those who obey the Gospel.
Believe and be saved. And even that is a gift.
"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us,
by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost." (Tit. 3:5)
He saved us...because Jesus was Righteous for us.
If it were up to any of us, we could never be saved.
So, in essence, it's a totally free ride.

Under this aspect, it is a TOTALLY free ride and to that I agree wholeheartedly.
All I wish to add to this already perfect explanation is that we are to walk with a single eye. That is, totally focused on God who is before us and leading.
