I have said it, you have said it, others have said it and yet he remains blind to this...as well as the many examples he tries to twist into salvation. Bats are somewhat blind and yet have the ability by echo-location to (see)......this type of mentality even lacks the echo-location test...being totally blind for sure! Blinded by the god of this age as Cain believed in his own works and was the first lost man and ALL false teachers are compared to a man that teaches works...JUDE!

And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. Matt. 8:5-8,10,13
All of the above were healed by their faith . . .
My grandson just had his birthday - I gave him a gift - a free gift no strings attached . . . and I wouldn't have even thought about attaching a condition . . .
Is faith and trust a condition?
Now to him that worketh is the reward NOT RECKONED OF GRACE, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, . . . . for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness. How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision but in uncircumcision. And he received the sign of circumcision a seal of righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised . . . .Romans 4:4-6, 9b, 10,11a

They fail to understand quite a few things....like it is the PERFECT FAITH of JESUS that saves us and justifies us eternally before the throne of God....They faith to understand that saving faith is a free gift void of any human merit, work and or struggle...they fail to understand that the WORK has been completed from the foundation of the world.....they site O.T. examples that have nothing to do with eternal salvation and then twist it to their works for salvation heresy...they contradict themselves in the things that they say and promote confusion which comes from Satan himself...!
What you fail to understand about the whole Ephesians 2 quote is the simple fact that (THAT NOT OF YOURSELVES) is directed at THE SAVING FAITH THAT SAVES YOU.......IT is the FAITH of the SON of GOD (JESUS) that saves you....nothing you do can supplant and or over ride the saving faith of Jesus as applied to the simple acknowledgement of Jesus as LORD....the WORKS that follow such as the first act of obedience (IMMERSION) is a PUBLIC TESTIMONY of RECIEVING what JESUS has ALREADY DONE INWARDLY......so simple and yet your mind is like the Pharisees...closed to anything but your own hammered out theology and that which has been tainted by Campbellism!

What happened to Naaman is a type or shadow if you will of what happens to a sinner when he comes to Christ.
Naaman heard of a healer (Christ), he came to the healer in need (salvation), he came believing (faith). His dipping in the water represents his sins being washed away by the blood of the lamb.
The same thing happened in Acts 10. The Gentiles heard of a healer, they sent for one who had been with the healer (Peter), after hearing Peter and before he finished preaching the Holy Spirit fell on them by faith (salvation). They were saved before water baptism, because Peter said vs 47, "Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?"
These men were saved while Peter was still preaching. It was only their faith in believing that they were saved. They did no works of any kind, they only believed. Then they were baptized.

Nobody has to work for salvation, for it is a free gift given by the Lord our God.
Your actions show that you are saved and a follower of Christ. If no actions of good deeds or obedience are evident in your life it shows that you are not saved and a follower of Christ.
Even the Lord says those who are His sheep hear His voice and follow what He said.

i do not read of Christ rejecting those who believe Him, and put their trust in Him,
but i do read of Him telling some that boast of their works that He never knew them:
Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Many will say to me on that day,
‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’
Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
(Matthew 7:21-23)

that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life,

That is some seriously scary thinking. . .which is absolutely repugnant to the born again.
That you can even suggest it says more than you realize.
It reflects the human thinking of a selfish heart that knows nothing of God.
One cannot know God and think this way.
