A drunk bum called me beautiful today while I was taking the bus. So I guess there's that.

other places of CC are just...weird.

4 out of 5 times as I log in, the same person is chatting in the lounge. This is at different times of the day, even if I log in and out really quickly to make a comment. Does this person LIVE on CC? Does this person have a medical condition in which this person is bedridden? I can't wrap my head around being on chat for so long otherwise. I really wonder what this person's life is like. The chat kind of depresses me. Maybe I'm supposed to pray for this person.

There is always the Bible Argument forum, but....never mind.

In the family forum, it seems that if a woman is having marital problems, a lot of sympathy and support is given. If a man is having marital problems, he gets bashed for not being the right type of leader. If I remember correctly, the pendulum swung the other way a couple months ago.

**sigh** maybe I just need a break. Or at least I shouldn't venture out of singles for a while. But is avoiding hurting people the answer? I dunno.

Yuuup. I'm gonna try to sleep soon. Get hopefully 7-ish hours of sleep. Be more awake this time. Gotta stop being so sleepy at church.

I'm trying not to make drinking more coffee the answer.

Speaking of which, lil_christian, did you hear the latest research? Scientists have discovered that if you took all the people who fall asleep in church and laid them out end-to-end... they'd be a lot more comfortable.

Yes! I've seen those who seem to always be speaking in chat 24/7. I too feel bad for them. I've been here long enough to see that they never last more than a year or so before they either move on, stop talking or get banned. And they're always replaced by someone new who talks just as much. I noticed too that when they talk they're often not addressing anyone, just talking to the room in general.

I believe its time for me to fly...

I've been around for you
I've been up and down for you
But I just can't get any relief
I've swallowed my pride for you
I've lived and lied for you
But you still make me feel like a thief
You got me stealin' your love away
'Cause you never give it
Peeling the years away
And we can't relive it
I make you laugh
And you make me cry
I believe it's time for me to fly

I can readily relate to what you have written. I feel sorry for anyone who has made CC the central focus of their life for one reason or another. It seems that there will always be those who will take offense with you regardless of your personal stance on any particular issue. To avoid hurting people you would have to be removed from the world. It is true what is written in the bible in that the poor will always be with us.

Catherder, alot of people live on CC, or at least it seems that way. LOL. :) I log in several times a day, and yup, sure enough, all the same people are still yakking in the lounge chatroom. Some people here DO have medical conditions that require them to be home all the time. For others, maybe CC is the only support system/ outside contact that they have. For myself, CC is a daily blessing. :) Someone told me the other day, that for the number of posts I make in one day, that I must have no life. LOL. Well, I AM disabled, and home all the time, but yes I DO have a life. I don't sit here 24/7/365 and chat and post merely to be online.

I'm here to give encouragement, and support and laughter to people. Hopefully, I am accomplishing that for you all. :) I've had several people here pm me after reading one of my threads and tell me what an inspiration I am, and I always ask myself, "Little insignificant me is an inspiration to someone"? LOL. :) That thought truly always dumbfounds me..It just shows you that God can use anyone to do his work..even a little ladybug like me..

I LOL'd at the "bible argument forum." Lately, that's all that happens in there. I tend to avoid that forum, and hang out in singles, miscellaneous, and prayer requests forums. :) Avoiding people who are hurting is impossible, but you need not always necessarily speak to them to help. Maybe simply offer up a silent prayer for them instead. :)

A drunk bum called me beautiful today while I was taking the bus. So I guess there's that.

Hmmm... I remembered this - not the same but still.

Walking home one evening, some random person from behind me, made a kissing sound near my hair, way too close.
He clearly missed (praise God) but I still could hear that sick sound.

I stopped for a moment, shocked - but I could never tell who it was. Saw the back of a grimy man hurrying away.

I couldn't do anything about it, even if I wanted to.

The feeling I had was being angry and helpless at the same time.

Situations like that is why you should carry some mace (pepper spray) with you. You never know what other people will try to do to you. Spray some pepper in their face and they'll learn a lesson that they will never forget!! Or repeat, lol.. :)

Eek, that's really creepy! Glad it didn't get any worse, though that's quite bad enough.

I had a strange guy sniff me while waiting in line once. He got probably an inch or two from the back of my head and I heard this sniffling sound...ugh.

That kind of thing does bring out anger and a helpless feeling, because...they invade your personal space, violate it in a way
.

That's also really yucky MissCris :( Agreed people should respect personal space.

Also these incidents throw you off guard because they're so out of the blue and unexpected. If someone came charging at you from the front, you'd be prepared to push them off.

However when it is things like this, your mind draws a blank.

@ Blue LadyBug -

Agreed about the pepper spray. However, for this incident I couldn't do anything.

It was too fast and too sudden. Also I was a schoolgirl at that time. I was scared. I felt very ashamed that something like this had happened to me.

Anger, shame, disgust, fear and helplessness. That sums it.

The sad thing is that some people DO live on CC. In reality I was one of those people when I joined years ago. I was unemployed at the time but "job attached", in other words my boss wanted me back as soon as the company had work again so I was exempt from having to look for work. Anyone who has been on unemployment knows that what is received is barely enough to make ends meet so going out and having a life isn't practical financially. Many CC "residents" are physically or mentally disabled and their ability to get out is at the mercy of their caregivers and of course financial constraints since disability income is minimal.

Of course we also have those who's lives have been such that socializing in a "normal" fashion is a fear filled panic ridden task due to prior abuse/extreme bullying in their lives. CC becomes a fashion in which they can socialize with minimal fear of harm. Unfortunately for some it becomes an excuse to not take the next step and get out into the real world.

Or they are just stuck in the room and aren't really there...or they are a college student procrastinating in the best kind of way. I would know. I've been there :D Now, I have a life and I barely get on anymore in chat. It's so...weird.

Just to be clear, I was only talking about people who seem to be actually on the mic 24/7 in the lounge.
