THE number SEVEN has been called the perfect number. It is in fact, the SEAL of God upon His creative work.
Until recently, this fact seems to have almost evaded attention. Then an amazing discovery was made. Hidden beneath the surface of the Greek and Hebrew texts of the Bible, is the same seal, not merely in a few places but literally everywhere in the Bible, stamping it as the indisputable Word of God.
It was soon realized that both the Bible and creation bore similar identification marks, just as surely as various papers from a given mill bear beneath their surface the watermark of that particular mill.
Let us briefly examine, some of these watermarks or seals in creation. God’s dealings with man are marked all over with sevens and multiples of sevens. Each man’s physiology is constructed on a law of sevens.
Did you know that the development of the human embryo is in exact periods of sevens, viz., 28 days, (4 ~ 7s)? Ask your doctor to explain. You will be amazed at the accuracy of this law. Then the full normal time is 280 days, (40 ~ 7s). I shall enlarge upon this later.
In Genesis 2:7 we read,
“And God formed man of the dust of the ground.”
Science has had to acknowledge that the human body consists of the same 14 elements, 2 ~ 7s. Medical science today tells us the human body is renewed in every cell every seven years; also that the pulse beats slower every 7th day. In certain diseases, the critical days are the 7th, 14th and 21st, and so on.
Did you know the light from the sun is made up of seven distinct colours, viz, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet? The rainbow is a demonstration of the light split into its seven colours. Would you say this was design or accident? While we are in the air, as it were, let us look at our nearest neighbour - the moon.
Did you know that the earth is just 49 times larger, 7 ~ 7s, and the moon completes its journey round the earth on the 28th day, 4 ~ 7s, which is exactly in keeping with the development of the human embryo, which thought we shall now connect with another department of Nature - the wonderful bird family where we again find this definite Seal of the Creator, unchanging, unalterable by man.

Everyone knows that when you set eggs of the domestic hen, whether they are placed under the hen; or in the incubator, you look for the chicks on the 21st day, 3 ~ 7s. While on domestics, check your canary, 14 days, 2 ~ 7s. Hundreds of varieties of finches, and numerous other families of small birds like robins, thrushes and cockatoos have been checked at 14 days.

I asked you what do you gain by counting the number 666 in Revelation 13:18. One, you just ignored the question. Two, your telling me to read the first line in Revelation 13:18 is the answer to my question.
Jesus quoted the Word of God or the Scriptures many many times. For the Scriptures are divinely inspired by God. So the Bible are the very words of God (Christ). The numbers are a part of your Bible. The Bible repeatedly defines the meaning of a number based on the text. Take for example: 40 days and 40 nights. Noah was in the belly of the ship and felt every last one (of those days) because there was an intense storm outside. Noah was under a test or trial of being in the Ark for 40 days and 40 nights. Jesus fasted in the wilderness for 40 days. Fasting is putting yourself thru a trial or test.
Did Jesus or anyone else mention how there would be 66 books that make up the Bible? Is there any passage that talks about such a thing? No. The Bible does not have to specifically mention something in order for something to be true.
What disturbs me is that you say that numbers is a false religion which tells me that I am a part of a false religion. But I do not let numbers guide my life or let them consume me. I am not tempted in any way to go beyond what the Bible says about a number. The Bible explains it for me. That's what your not getting.
Yes, "Traditional Numerology" can be dangerous; But it has nothing to do with "Biblical Numerics." "Traditional Numerology" attempts to look at patterns of numbers so as to either guide your life and or to tell the future, etc. This type of numerology will look to numbers outside the Bible so as to make a religion out of it (Seeing numbers in in minor events of their life, etc.). "Biblical Numerics" is counting the number (Just like in Revelation) so as to gain wisdom. Counting and looking at the meaning based on what the Bible says and not some guy.
First, a good tree cannot bring forth bad fruit and vise versa. You said our study was going fairly well. That is because a lot of what I have learned was revealed to me by God. For there are many times I have asked for the Lord's help when reading His Word. Most people do not care to ask God for help in understanding His Word. They just think they are infallible interpreters of His Word. They rely upon their own thoughts and not God's thoughts. Second, I did explain certain numbers and their repeated pattern. Did you look at Number 17 in the study?
Okay, now your questioning Revelation 13:18? Also, I believe it is incomplete or incorrect to say that the Bible is just about the cross. Saying it is about the cross eliminates one having to say Jesus. For the Bible is actually about Jesus Christ. He said so Himself in John 5:39. What this means is that the numbers in the Bible and their meaning point to Jesus Christ.

My stepfather taught theomatics with deep conviction, but always only as a small part of Bible lesson plans, and slipped it in while teaching college courses, and used other things like it to reach hardened athletes. Explained by that teacher it is a powerful tool that appealed to extremely skeptical college students home for holiday and being a thorn in the side of preachers and teachers. They very often discard their Christian training once on campus and on their own. Ssssssad! it is too common that whenever a speaker on college campus refers to the Bible, that speech is met with derision. But include some correct and challenging science or math, they will consider listening. That's how Paul dealt with the scholars and philosophers at Mars Hill and other places. It is "safer" to just preach the word then get removed from the podium because of it, but a little wisdom from God will open doors closed to the pure gospel. Jerry Lucas was one such closed-door athlete. However, I have never taught it stand-alone, rather always being sure to deliver the Bible words. I am not good enough with math and statistical analysis to hold up to learned challenges in those fields.
In places like this forum we ought to be able to discuss such things and grow, keeping the good things that agree with scriptures, tossing out the dubious. Here we have a peculiar group of folks unlike most church members who won't visit these places. They will not open a Bible at home unless some tragedy has come. We are extreme learners here, should be capable of dealing with new perspectives. You, Brainfreeze, are equipped to filter useful teachings from false ones. New ideas we have not heard before are not automatically false ideas. That is why we should try the spirits of all posts, in firm gentleness.

Yes, you have ignored it. Revelation 13:18 tells us to count a number so as to gain wisdom and understanding. Yet you are not agreement of counting numbers as a part of wisdom or understanding. So Revelation 13:18 means something else to you.
I mean just stop and think for a moment. 40 days and 40 nights Noah was in the Ark while it was raining. It was a huge storm and Noah went thru the trial of having to deal with that storm by being in the Ark. Jesus Christ fasted for 40 days and was tempted of the devil (Luke 4:2). This was also a trial or a time of testing. I cannot understand how you cannot see it. This is just the tip of the iceberg, too. Do you put on a blind fold every time these types of parallels appear in the Bible?
I say this not so as to wound you, but in love so as to guide you into the truth (of What God's Word teaches).

Gemetria is testimony in itself that God's Word adds up, so to speak, therefore, can be counted on, even literally.
Ok, so after counting, please, I would love to know the wisdom you got from counting 6 scores and 66... Who's the beast?
If you haven't found this"even though you keep looking", why would it apply to the rest of Jesus's teaching?? It says to go spread the good news "the gospel".Why would I take one verse "about a beast in revelation" and apply that to what Jesus said, and spread numbers as truth, when it's pretty apparent ...it's not., I will still revert back to post #78
The number is a mark. It is the mark of the Antichrist. It is the number of the false Messiah. The devil tries to be like the most high. God is triune. So the devil tries to mock this. And I will still point out that you are ignoring that 40 days means a trial in Scripture. 40 days Noah was in the Ark as a trial. Just as Jesus fasted and was tempted for 40 days (Was a trial). That is what you are ignoring. Future believers are to be on the look out for this number (666). If one is not on the look out for it, one will accept a false Christ or Messiah (i.e. the Antichrist). But those true saints who are on the look out, will be beheaded for Christ in the End Times. They will die because they will only worship Jesus Christ in truth and in Spirit. But if you believe numbers that display a meaning are evil, then you have to ignore Revelation 13:18. You can't have it both ways. You can't except one verse telling you to gain wisdom and understanding from a certain number and then ignore the rest of the numbers in the Bible.

You are going to have a very difficult time with all scripture, not only the numbers, with a refusal to see symbolism in scripture. And even turning on it so you try to teach others not to see symbolism, too, seems like someone standing in from of some good food saying that you don't like it so everyone else shouldn't, either.

I am merely going off what you have said. You believe the meaning behind Bible numbers (As described in the Bible) should not be acknowledged (even though it is right there in front of us --- like with the number 40). Yet Revelation 13:18 says we are to count the number 666 to gain wisdom. Of all the numbers, this one is not a good number. It's the mark of the Beast. So why is it good to make an exception just for Revelation 13:18? Especially seeing that other numbers in the Bible give us added meaning or understanding?
The numbers point to Jesus Christ. The numbers are in your Bible in the form of words. Jesus said abide in Him and abide in His words. Numbers are a part of His Word. You can't rip them out of Scripture and declare they have no meaning or purpose anymore than you can rip out another word in Scripture and say the same thing.
Jason, it's at the end of the book for a reason,... Not to take that one scripture about counting the beasts number and relate it back to everything in the bible, you have nothing to say about John Dee I suppose?
