So, ever since my bank caught fraudulent use of my debit card a couple of months ago my wife and I have been vigilant in checking our account online daily. Today we found three charges that were unknown to either of us and after talking with the bank trying to determine where the charges originated found out that all three of them were online purchases off of my new card. Fortunately the bank will block all three charges so I'm not out any money but it's unnerving that somehow I have been the victim of this twice in only a couple of months!!!!

I remember years ago when debit cards were pretty new everyone thought they were a great thing because it meant you didn't have to carry cash and risk losing money due to theft, it seems to me that going back to carrying cash might be the better thing.

GAAAAAAAAAGHHGH!!!!!!!!

Wow, Oncefallen, I'm surprised they didn't close the account completely and issue a completely new account with new cards?

That's what went down when my brother's credit card was stolen... but maybe it's different for credit cards?

I'm so sorry this has happened to you!

Hmm... I wondering if TinTin is referring to my age... :p
Woah. No! No! Not at all. I was referring to the ancient creatures from thousands of years ago. I love dinosaurs and a few people have posted pictures of them. Can't get enough of them. :)

I'm sure if the whole account was compromised they would open a new account, but only the debit card was compromised so they just issue a new card. I think the reason they go through the bigger headache with credit cards is that the card number is the account number whereas with a debit card the card number has no association with the primary account number.

Zero that number of notifications is insane! Do you save them up?

My Son is going through this I don't want to bathe phase. Tonight he smelled like I ran around all day 9 year old stinky boy. He STINKY!!!! He still didn't want to take a bath. It's like he's Superman and the bath water is his Kryptonite. I've told him, take a shower it will take less time. You would think I said, take a shower in acid it's good for you. The look on his face was sheer terror when I suggested that he allow clean water and some soap cover him. God forbid we smell good!

Fenner: Don't worry too much. If he survives long enough to grow up to the point where he notices girls, he will start taking a shower twice a day. Gotta look your best at that age y'know. ;)
