He forgave all my sin, and now i am repenting for love instead of fear
Romans 3:24-26American Standard Version (ASV)
[SUP]24 [/SUP]being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
[SUP]25 [/SUP]whom God set forth to be a propitiation, through faith, in his blood, to show his righteousness because of the passing over of the sins done aforetime, in the forbearance of God;

[SUP]26 [/SUP]for the showing, I say, of his righteousness at this present season: that he might himself be just, and the justifier of him that hath faith in Jesus.

the saving act is intercessory.

there is a baptism that saves, and it is Christ's - not by the hand of John, nor with any human hand.
He went willingly into to this pool for us, and was raised up again by no human hand.
so you are saying Jesus was not baptised by John....
Matthew 3:13
Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.

Matthew 3:16
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

they are one and the same gospel, the same that teaches that it is faith, not works, that commend us to God, and that it is God who has chosen us, not us who have chosen God, and predestined us to adoption and preordained us to good works, not us who by doing good & obedient works earn the promise.

you are presuming that one is working for the promise....but what does the scripture say about the promise?
Jesus teaching was to prepare us to receive the promise...and that preparation is ...repentance and remission of sins and this is the way he had ordained it to be done...
[SUP]38 [/SUP]Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
[SUP]39 [/SUP]For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

Luke 24:46-49King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]46 [/SUP]And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
[SUP]47 [/SUP]And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

[SUP]48 [/SUP]And ye are witnesses of these things.
[SUP]49 [/SUP]And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

i was hoping it might help us see that it is false to assume that because someone asserts that it is God and God alone who is responsible for our salvation, and
not our obedient reply to Him, that they "teach no repentance or remission of sins"
if that is the case then all men are saved and there is no need for obedience....
James 1:22
But be ye doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

i want you to know that it is for the glory of the One who is the Author and Finisher of my faith that i say "Christ alone saves" and disagree that "ritual baptism saves."
Christ alone saves but one has to get into Christ to be saved ...he has ordained a way to get into him....

it is also false to assume that i reject the commandment of God because i say H[SUB]2[/SUB]O baptism was made for man, not man for H[SUB]2[/SUB]O baptism, and that Christ is Lord of circumcision, the Sabbath, and also of immersion. what i am doing by saying this is asserting that Christ is the only one worthy of glory.
you are the one who made a quote about rejecting the commands of God...you agree Christ is the Lord of immersion and it was made for man....same as circumcision and the Sabbath....under the dispensation of those men were counted as enemies of God for rejecting those statutes...
is it different now that a man can reject a statute of God
Genesis 17:10
This is My covenant which ye shall keep between Me and you and thy seed after thee: every manchild among you shall be circumcised.

Genesis 17:14
And the uncircumcised manchild whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken My covenant.”

the covenant spoken of here was Gods covenant wiht the nation of Israel. Had nothing to do with anyones eternal destiny, Abraham was declared righteous long before he was circumcised.

Yes, some covenants.

God also has single covenanants. Called I will..

Jesus said he came so we may have life. He offers eternal life to all.

Does not mean everyone will take it.

and there is NO CONDITIONS. Just trust him..

And, no, when you say I am ignorant, I take it with a grain of salt. Because your the ignorant one. And I can not even say that, You have been shown truth, so your ignorance is long gone.

No doubt and this too they reject as they believe in works and water for salvation......Blessed is the man to whom the LORD imputes righteousness without the deeds of the law (the righteousness of Jesus) dia faith and based upon mercy and grace.....!

The word is spiritual in origin and is spiritually discerned, so no surprise that someone who trusts into water and works would have a total lack of understanding when it comes to the truth......faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of GOD.....maybe if they would open their eyes and open their ears to the truth they would actually see the light instead of following (Cain) and his dogma of works which took him to hell as the first lost man and then makes the list of false teachers found in Jude...funny...first on the list is one who teaches their own works for justification before God...gospel of (heteros) a different kind with no power to save and will lead to hell when following that gospel!

so you are saying Jesus was not baptised by John....
*sigh*

NO i am not saying Jesus wasn't baptized by John. why are you so myopic??

i am saying that Jesus being baptized by John is not what saves our souls.

“You don’t know what you are asking,” Jesus said.
“Can you drink the cup I drink or be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with?”
(Mark 10:38)

THIS is the baptism that saves. not the one done by human hands. the one in which Christ took our place and won for us our justification in Him.

Amazingly simple at the end of the day....The simplicity that is found in Christ and us not being removed from it is what we are called to for sure....

Thinking that blood needs to be mixed with water is ridiculous at best........kind of waters down the blood a bit.....and then throw in human effort which undermines the power and ability of Go for sure.....crazy!

what is a single covenant?.....do you you see no conditions....??? I see a covenant..."I will make with them" and lots of conditions
[SUP]15 [/SUP]Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
[SUP]16 [/SUP]This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

[SUP]17 [/SUP]And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

[SUP]18 [/SUP]Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

[SUP]19 [/SUP]Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
[SUP]20 [/SUP]By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
[SUP]21 [/SUP]And having an high priest over the house of God;
[SUP]22 [/SUP]Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

[SUP]23 [/SUP]Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

[SUP]24 [/SUP]And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
[SUP]25 [/SUP]Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
[SUP]26 [/SUP]For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
[SUP]27 [/SUP]But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

you know nothing of the abrahamic covenant then.

I WILL give you this land

I WILL make you a great nation

I WILL bless those who bless you, curse those who curse you

I WILL, through your seed, bless all nations.

nor do you know anything of history. God put abraham to sleep. God walked between the carcasses not both of them, it was an I WILL covenant.

the mosaic however, was conditional.

learn the difference between the two..

you did not post what Abram had to do....that is a condition

don't stop! the next verse is pretty good too!!

Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded.
Because of what law? The law that requires works?
No, because of the law that requires faith.

No, Your forgot the part, Abraham was declared righteous before he did any of this. His faith saved him, his work proved his faith was real (see romans 4)

You also ignored the historical aspect of the way in which God made this covenant binding (historically, both men walked inbetween the carcasses. this the covenant was bound to both parties. Since God walked by himself. the covenant is just bound to God.
We also see historically God has always kept his promise inspite of the sin of the children of abraham, which proves it was a one way covenant.

you really want to earn your gift don't you? Mock the grace of God. Sad, so sad!

he wont let go of his pride. He needs God to accept his works.. and he needs to think to himself he is worthy.

THIS is the baptism that saves. not the one done by human hands. the one in which Christ took our place and won for us our justification in Him.
Mark 10:33-38King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]33 [/SUP]Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:
[SUP]34 [/SUP]And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.
[SUP]35 [/SUP]And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.
[SUP]36 [/SUP]And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?
[SUP]37 [/SUP]They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
[SUP]38 [/SUP]But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?

[SUP]39 [/SUP]And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:
[SUP]40 [/SUP]But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.
[SUP]41 [/SUP]And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.
[SUP]42 [/SUP]But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.
[SUP]43 [/SUP]But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:
[SUP]44 [/SUP]And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.

bro you quote a scripture that is so way out of context it amazing...

this is what we were talking about...

Matthew 3:13-15King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
[SUP]15 [/SUP]And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

if it was necessary for him and it is necessary for us....since we are not going to be crucified like he was....(submission onto death)
water baptism is the submission of our death , burial and resurrection in him....

There is no such thing as faith only. If one does not have faith, they will not be saved, If they are not saved, they are not given the power of God to work (nor do they trust him to do those works.)

You faith plus works group have no faith, your faith is in your works, not the promises of God. Your works are false. and self centered, Not out of love for God and what he gave you freely.
