I am so very beyond blessed to be busy with a job that I LOVE and get paid adequately for! Also, I'm soon to have a new niece! My sister and her two kids ( soon to be 3) have been living with me since the beginning of summer. God has given so much grace during this time and has helped us both to grow tremendously! He taught me, time and time again, that I am not the provider for these 5 people, He is! And He is faithful to provide for all of our needs. And now...my sister knows Christ! :D
Just thought I'd update those of you who know me. Six months of being busy taking care of a family of 5 and loving them into the kingdom. You guys! Serve in love...that's what God's been teaching me. The kindness of The Lord leads people to repentance. :)
This! Is amazing news! I'm so happy for you and your sister and the whole family! Your grace and love toward her - I KNOW - was used by God to reach her. I'm doing a super happy dance! PRAISE GOD for this tremendous blessing!

I assume you are still talking about persimmons here? There are two types that are common in markets here, the Fuyu, which is short and squatty, and the Hachiya, which is taller and more...persimmon shaped.

This attachment looks like a picture of me and any one of my friends. Me being the "short and squatty" (not to mention squinty--that's a shoutout to Shour, Christian74, and DanPhu) one of course.

And for some reason I read "Fuyu" as "Furyu", causing me to think, "Furyan? You mean like Vin Diesel in The Chronicles of Riddick?! Cool..."

I need more sleep. Either that or some sick muscles (here comes the milk and squats) and a really cool weapon.

well, to be honest, I first read "Fuyu" as something else, too.

It seems like a lot of people are just itching to have an argument around here. Why they can't go to the Bible Discussion forum to do so, I dunno...I mean, that place is an argument (or twenty...or you know, more...) waiting to happen. Buuut, instead, totally harmless threads are getting all screwed up because people want to fight.

It's sort of tempting to start a thread in here that people can go argue in. But then...no. Just, no.

My baby is getting way too big... I need another one. :/
All in God's time I guess.... *sigh*
I'll admit, I'm a little impatient to have one more little one added to our little family, but why does God's time always take so long?

Hey there! Cheer up! It's gonna be okay.

"Father Lord we give blueorchidjd ino your hands. She seems to be going through some pain at the moment. But you are her Elshaddai. You are the One who can comfort her. Wrap her in your arms Lord. Hold her to you. Let her be comforted at this very moment. All this I ask in Jesus' name. Amen."

Take care sister. And cheer up!! :)

Where is everybody??? The forum is eerily silent for a friday night.

You may be on to something. Even if there is no argument, it is normal to disagree on occasion. Many do that via PM, but many think that since the post are public, the resolution should be public as well. A place to work those things out without major tangents, threadjacking, or derailing could be a good thing...

hmmm....

Name it "Outside". Then when people start arguing, you can tell them to take it outside.

I actually considered that name! You are scary!

Just brought the idea up in chat. Rethinking it, I think that those who are responsible for the discord would not follow the rules anyway.

I read a few links on people supporting pro-birth abortion. They share the same assumptions as pro-choice supporters. It's gut-wrenching to think how people who could not consider babies as persons who ought to be given the chance to live. While euthanasia is a different topic, the sheer argument that mothers ought to have the final say in their 3-year old kids' life is frightening to me! If you knew you could not afford a baby, when even have one in the first place? Where is the virtue of "responsible parenting"?

I really commend those single parents out here who have really braved the odds to bring up their children. If despite the struggles, your kids can look up to you and say "I love you Mom" or "I love you Dad", then you are worthy of the adulation! You all are doing a wonderful job in a world that is so messed up. I respect each one of you for the struggle you take just to give your kids a better life and a better tomorrow. Sometimes I feel bad that you have to deal with a lot of criticism from people around you for choosing to walk away from an abusive/failed marriage. And I accept that even some christians don't do enough to support you. I wish I could give each of you a hug but my arms are so short that they can't reach you and give you a hug. However I am praying for each of you. I hope and pray that when you are old, sitting by the porch, rocking on a chair, sipping a hot cup of coffee and reminiscing about life, you can pat yourself in the back and say "Good job! Well done!" :)

This goes out to each single parent who I know on this forum. You know who you are. You all are in my prayers and in my thoughts. :)
