newbirth, The Major Difference between the Old and New Covenant
is the movement from
The Old.....The External and Legalistic “water baptism”
The New... The Inner {Heart} and Personal..
this is the difference...
Colossians 1:27
To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
The Greater Glory of the New Covenant 2 Corinthians chapter 3
7 Now if the ministry that brought death,
which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory,
so that the Israelites could not look steadily
at the face of Moses because of its glory,
transitory though it was,
8 will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious?
9 If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious,
how much more glorious is the ministry
that brings righteousness!
10 For what was glorious has no glory
now in comparison with the surpassing glory.
11 And if what was transitory came with glory,
how much greater is the glory of that which lasts!
12 Therefore, since we have such a hope,
we are very bold.
13 We are not like Moses,
who would put a veil over his face to prevent
the Israelites from seeing the end
of what was passing away.
14 But their minds were made dull,
for to this day the same veil remains when
the old covenant is read.
It has not been removed,
because ONLY in Christ is it taken away. ( This does Not ADD "water baptism")
Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
15 Even to this day when Moses is read,
a veil covers their hearts.
16 But whenever anyone turns to the Lord,
the veil is taken away. ( This does Not ADD "water baptism")
Acts 2:41
King James Version
Then they that gladly
received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls
John 1:12
But as many as
received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit,
and where the Spirit of the Lord is,
there is freedom.
18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate
the Lord’s glory,
are being transformed into his image
with ever-increasing glory,
which comes from the Lord, ( This does Not ADD "water baptism")
who is the Spirit.
Acts 2:38
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,
and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
where else in the NT is the promise of the HS
newbirth, If Jesus Christ Knows your Heart
Then Why Do you Say that a person is Required
to be "water baptized"
FOR Forgiveness of Sins??
To Receive the Holy Spirit ??
because Christ commanded it in the scripture......
[SUP]
10 [/SUP]And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
[SUP]11 [/SUP]And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him:
for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]
And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,
[SUP]16 [/SUP]And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:
[SUP]17 [/SUP]That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;
[SUP]18 [/SUP]And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;
because thou hast obeyed my voice.
Proverbs 21:2
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: "water baptism"
but the Lord pondereth the hearts.
Luke 16:15
*And he said unto them,
Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; "water baptism"but God knoweth your hearts:
for that which is highly esteemed among men
is abomination in the sight of God.
Acts 15:8&9
8*And God, which knoweth the hearts,
bare them witness,
giving them the Holy Ghost, "GIFT"
even as he did unto us;
9*and put no difference between us and them,
purifying their hearts by faith. ( This does Not ADD "water baptism")
he did add water baptism....
Acts 10:47
Can any man forbid water, that these
should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
newbirth, Our Salvation is a GIFT from God Through Jesus Christ
Our CHOICE is to Accept or Reject the GIFT....
We ALL Fall Short of Gods Glory... SURRENDER......
WE Can NOT DO DO DO Enough to Deserve our Salvation...
through faith in Jesus Christ....doing is not to deserve...
Hebrews 2:3
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
“For there is one God,
and one mediator between God and men,
the man Christ Jesus;
Who gave himself a ransom for ALL.....
to be testified in due time.”
1 Timothy 2:5-6
and that is enough reason to obey Him...
