Between cultivating sourdough starter, mixing up bread, kneading bread, letting it rise, kneading it again and putting it in pans, letting it rise again, baking it... I've seen nobody on chat. Maybe I should pick movie watching back up, it'd be something to do while I'm waiting for bread to rise.
Hey, I've bounced through a couple of times to mock the kitty in between making a stew this afternoon and dropping a cheesecake in the oven this evening.

Our neighbour always gives us bread, one of them preaches in the church. They always go out of their way to help anyone and everyone in the community, bless them.

....hmmmm I'm extremely weary now, they were talking about the ol' kick up the back side, noooooooooo!!..... Just the the mentioning of it brings a feeling of terror upon me!!!

Being my supremely brilliant self, I actually thought the phrase "mock the kitty" was some sort of new internet slang term... and actually tried to Google it.

Yup. I'm about as bright as a burned-out Christmas light! :D

While we live here on earth we are a little lower than the angels. But upon entering heaven we will be sons & daughters of the Living God and will judge angels. I often wonder if we will then have the awesome ability to fly across the universe like lightning flashing across the sky. Woohoo! :D And then again, I'm certain that once I'm standing face to face with King Jesus I won't really care.

This is my forth day on the liquid diet before my surgery, two more to go. Well then for two weeks after. I owe a lot now, I know you all wanted to know that.

Man, did anyone else see the meteor shower last night? It was pretty awesome, at least it was at my latitude.

I pee a lot, not I owe. Auto correct drives me nuts.

Hey, that kind of diet is a great weight loss plan!! :p

An old friend of mine had surgery for esophageal cancer years back. He lost close to 40 lbs due to a straight liquid diet for a couple of weeks and a highly restricted diet for another couple of weeks after that.

Don't know if school will work out after the New Year's and I should probably start searching for a different job since the seasonal will be over some time in January. I wish I could say I like it, but unfortunately I cannot. I'm pretty sure they don't like me either, especially one worker that's sort of one up from the regular people who actually physically work, but I won't get into that.

I want to just 'do' something. Maybe it can be something I can do right for once (not saying this for pity, it apparently seems to hold truth). Perhaps something I can love or like at least. If it weren't the crazy hours my current (and temporary) job gave me I'd do some volunteer work and most likely it'd involve animals. They make me happy.

Note to self: Before raking the back yard for 45 minutes, put on gloves. Unless you want blisters. Which apparently you do.

(So painful)

Lynx will holler at me but since I can't hop on over to pick up a fresh supply of his sourdough bread, I bought a loaf of French bread from the Walmart deli today after church.

I'm melting the butter and mincing the garlic as soon as I finish this post... Fresh garlic bread for lunch it is.

Christmas shopping complete! Which is not all that big of an accomplishment when I've only shopped for three people, one of whom doesn't even understand about Christmas or gifts yet (she's getting a big pink ball, a doll, and a blanket I'm sewing from her old receiving blankets...and some bright, stripey socks). I tend to stress myself out over gifts, I hardly ever know what to get for anyone. I completely over-complicate it. Except I didn't this time, I kept it really simple. That's progress.

And hurray!!! It's snowing!

P.S.- Rachel, ouch! I've done that before :(

seoulsearch: Who's hollering? Wal-Mart french bread is useful. I used two loaves and two pounds of shaved ham to make a platter of sandwiches. Paint the bread with butter/italian seasoning/garlic, make sandwiches, slice in half, toast in oven. Everyone who tried them loved them.

MissChris: Don't worry, you can't overthink gift giving more than one couple I know. This is what happened back at Valentine's Day.

After nearly a week of no internet connection, I seem to be back on! :) Any and all posts have been either from my phone or from the library.

My modem went kaput. Apparently, they mailed me a new one a year ago. I went to Comcast to pick up a new modem. They gave me the confirmation that my old apartment manager who got fired for being disorganized signed for the package. I'm sure it got shoved in a closet somewhere and forgotten. I wonder how many other tenants did not get any packages.

Not sure if I should complain to my new manager and have the property management company try to track down my package or just let it go. Comcast does not seem to care that one of their modems is floating around somewhere.

I'm assuming the scatterbrained manager was also the one who accused you of not turning in your rent check when you already had?

Sure hope the new manager has it together a little better.

Yep. That would be the one.

The new manager is awesome. She gets stuff done.

...and appears to be about my age and is she is really cute, too!
