I feel like it's not quite in full swing up here. We only have about an inch of snow, and Christmas is just around the corner. In fact, we still had green grass up until the week of Thanksgiving.

Who stole all our snow? >.>
*hides a handful of snow behind his back*

Not Australia! I mean, not me!

Then how DID you get snow in the middle of your summer, hmm? >.>
We had uh... a freak storm and a large snowman fell out of the sky. I collected some of his corpse and piled it all beneath a shady gum tree.

Sure. We believe you. Uhuh.

In local news, my family wanted to make a CD, their first album ever, to give to friends at Christmas. Aunt Diane, Uncle Fred and Aunt Lucy have sung as a group for a while now, but never done any recordings. So last Friday night they went to church, I connected my multi-in audio interface to the soundboard and I recorded them in separate channels for editing later.

Please, please, if any of you ever do a music recording... KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT when the last few notes of the song are playing! Just because you are through singing doesn't mean the song is over, and you clearing your throat, or making an offhand remark, or sighing, it gets in the audio.

Yes I can fix this. Just mute the channel (audio envelopes are lifesavers) for the last few seconds of the song. On three mics. After EVERY FLIPPING SONG! It gets really, really old.

That is my ranting for the day. Now back to editing audio tracks.

Stepped back what could have looked like an inappropriate scenario our of respect for myself and the young man I was talking to. Nothing happened, nothing was going to happen, nothing was intended to happen, but I stepped back anyway in respect to my own image and the man's. The man did not like this. Still hasn't talked to me since

Good for you. It can be really tricky to know where exactly the lines are, but this shows wisdom and maturity.

I realized after I left the gallery yesterday that I want to ask the lady out who sold me the painting. I have a good excuse to return since I will be making layaway payments. She had no ring and was really down to earth for someone who works in an art gallery. I'll ask her out when I make a payment after the holidays.

Do the "holidays" include New Year or do they stop on December 26th? She might be taken if you wait until January 2nd.

(That is, judging by how fast people are hooking up around here lately...)

I'm going to say this now to give everyone a head start, and I'll say it every day until Saturday just in case it makes a difference... Saturday I'll be making bread, so I'll be leaving the chat room open on this computer just in case someone comes in to talk to. There's a lot of waiting in sourdough bread, so I really, really, really hope to see you there. I have a lot of bread to make for Sunday.

Boss gave me a giant data project in excel that he expects for tomorrow...looks like im not sleeping tonight...I guess the bright side is that its a compliment since he finds me reliable enough to finish it without "milking" the overtime and such...sometimes I wish there were other reliable people at work

For church. I've fallen into the habit of giving certain people at church a loaf of bread for Christmas. Said people are those who have mentioned in the past that they liked my sourdough bread. The list is a bit longer now than it used to be - I'll be baking 22 loaves of white bread, and I already made some whole wheat last week and put it in the freezer. (Whole wheat freezes better so I'm making the white bread the day before.)

And no Tintin, I'm not even dating anyone. Only thing I have in the oven is sourdough bread, or maybe a batch of chocolate chip cookies or an egg custard pie.

"Hey uncle Jeff do you have any kids?"
"Gosh no Calvin, I'm not even married."
"Oh... what's that got to do with anything?"
"Kid watches a lot of TV doesn't he bro."

Oh, I know this story well (I'm not an uncle but a primary school teacher - relief at the moment). I tell children God planned for people to marry prior to living together. I often receive weird looks and responses from them, but that's okay. To think that, as a child, I believed even animals had to marry before having babies! We've come a long way.
