Khatru: Ayn Rand is hard to read, even for atheists, because they always find themselves agreeing with 96% of what she says, right up to the part where she says "So in conclusion, nothing really matters so we can be total jerks to everyone."
Which is ironic when one preaches egoism (if nothing truly matters, neither should a philosophy based on the pursuit and preservation of self interests).

Haha!

Every time I log into CC, it takes anywhere from 1 to 10 tries.
Enter username...
Enter password...
Try to log in...
Get kicked back to sign-in page...
Repeat.

It's like a game, guessing how many times it will take before I make it.

You do realize that we do this just for you don't you?
:p

Currently reading Anthem by Ayn Rand. Interesting novel. She was an advocate of egoism and collectivism, though. I mean, to each their own. I am about as interested in the two as much as I am for the Penguins of Madagascar movie: not very. :p But I do like the book.
Read one of her books (I think it was Fountainhead, but it was the one about the rebel architect guy) in high school for an essay contest. Thought her philosophy was evil but managed to write a good enough essay that the contest sponsors were willing to send me a free book all about her philosophy (but not good enough to win any of the cash prizes). Thought the book was evil enough I refused to let my mom sell or give it away, we might have actually thrown it in the trash.

Okay so... I may have seriously messed something up on my church computer (the program that runs the marquee sign) and I'm in a bit of a panic about it. Could you all please say a prayer that it would be a simple thing to fix? Thank you! :(

Unless you are a teacher, please don't try and tell me that $150 in books is cheap as Christmas presents. Excuse me, it's not, when you have to calculate in all the supplies you have to buy on a regular basis, simply because the majority of your students are poverty kids, including possibly taking them to the eye doctors for exams, and glasses. (Yes, one teacher at my school was about to do that for one our students.) Not to mention, all the things you are going to have to pay for, such as pictures for fundraisers to go on trips, that students themselves are too lazy to help raise money for. (78 students only have to raise $3000. Three teachers have to raise $6000. The teachers have raised about $2000, but all that is wasted, as the students haven't done there part, and so therefore technically as a whole, are in the red about $1400.)

Also keep in mind that said teacher also has to pay rent, tolls, car insurance, health insurance, gasoline, and all the other expensive, then yeah $150 in Christmas gifts can be expensive.

And keep in mind that the average teacher is generally paid less then most other positions. All because of the so called three month vacation, that is not really a vacation, considering they are quite frequently having to take Continuing Education courses, which they are paying for, not their jobs. And these courses are required to maintain their certifications every few years. And yes, it can add up expense wise, very quickly. Not to mention how much time they spend working, not just at the school, but also in their homes. During the school year, it's like 24/7 hour job. Literally.

So yeah, I'm a little ticked off, as you can guess, mainly because the other person is someone who has very little clue as to what teachers go through.

Grr.

Admittedly, $150 spread over time, is not much, but when this is sprung on you at the last minute, then yeah, it can be very expensive.

There's nothing like a kitten for the holidays.

I like mine with pineapple and brown sugar, and few cloves.

Strange... I don't feel evil. I think this is another stereotype, like "girls from India have unibrows" or "Americans are all fat, loud, obnoxious, they love hamburgers and shotguns." And like all such stereotypes, it should be ignored. Especially when my cat is curled up and purring in my lap. :D

Just a tad bit jealous since mine have been with since the beginning of November and still won't come out from under the bed, unless I'm gone, or asleep. Sigh, one day, ONE DAY, I say, we will be friends. So not use to smaller cats not liking me.

I think the world sometimes just wants us to be racist. I know that sounds bad, but sometimes I feel people are pushing me to that limit.
Because normally I don't sit at home and think about that kind of stuff , until people accuse me of it.. I'm talking mentally.

You've got to admit though. Shotguns are loud. So at least part of that statement could be true in an alternate universe somewhere.
