There is no conflict, the bible teaches one must do righteousness to be saved. The conflict occurs between the bible and the man-made faith only theology. Righteousness means right doing, and when one does what God said to do then he is right doing/righteous. God will not make righteous those that do not do what He said. Nor does Christ just randomly or for some unknown reason make people righteous.

Faith only contradicts all the verses that says man must do righteousness to be saved, as Mt 5:20.


2 Cor 5:21 "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him"

How does one get "in Him"? By right doing, not by doing nothing.

Righteousness actually means: RIGHT STANDING OR RIGHT RELATIONSHIP, not doing right.

Doing right comes from understanding position and love and has nothing at all to do with righteousness.

It means right doing. It's not possible for one to have a right standing before God by wrong doing.

How can "YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS" exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees if righteousness has nothing with 'doing'?


1 Jn 3:10 "In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother."

Obviously righteousness is something done. and Jon says he that continues to not do righteousness continues to not be of God. Therefore one must DO righteousness to be of God.

Psa 106:3 "Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times."

Eze 18:24 "
But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die"

John is stating those who do not acquire or are made righteous are not of God. Only God can give you righteousness....

Rom 10.3 is about the Jews rejecting Jesus who became SIN for the Jews and in return the Jews would have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, but instead they chose to ignore the righteousness of God and went about to establish their own form of righteousness<<<<<<<<<<which was obeying God's Law and commands

You need to add Vs. 4-10 to VS.3 for proper context. I wonder if you omit VS. 4-10 because it completely refutes what you have been saying.

The word practice translated form the Greek here means to Make or Made unto, and has zero to do with the English meaning of practice which is repeated exercise in or performance of an activity or skill so as to acquire or maintain proficiency in it.

So with proper study we could state:

… let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous” (1 John 3:7)

AS

… let no one deceive you. He who is made righteousness is righteous” (1 John 3:7)

The NASB uses practice and the KJV uses doeth and they both mean to make, or made unto, or rendered.

God has told man to do righteousness to be saved. So if man cannot do God's righteousness then there was no sense in God telling men to do righteousness to be saved/enter the kingdom of heaven.

Rom 3:10-12 is not an indictment of every single person as can be seen from Psa 14 which Paul quoted.

Rom 10:1 Paul says the fleshly Jews were lost. And in verse 3 Paul tells us why they were lost for they went about to establish their OWN righteousness. They could be saved if they would submit/obey the righteousness/commandments of God.

You said yourself those Jews ignored the righteousness of God. They did ignore God's righteousness/commandments as seen by the fact they would not submit/obey the righteous commandments of God.

I find it interesting you never talk about Jesus.....He is the way, the truth and the life and he knew no sin, but was made sin, so you could be the righteousness of God in him.

They would have been saved had they would submit and accept Jesus as their high priest, but they rejected him and continued to follow their own self righteousness.

Submitting to God and obeying his commands do not save you...

But, good works ALONE do not prove anything (except the person is not saved).

P.S. IMO, the easy-belief and easy-grace verses assume that ...
the believer's great appreciation will result in his/her faith enduring forever!

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Your insistence that James 2 be added to the above scripture is false.

Submitting to God and obeying his commands do not save you...

Heb 5:9 "And being made perfect, he (Christ) became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;"

Lk 6:46 "And why call ye me (Christ), Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?"

J 14:15 "If ye love me (Christ), keep my commandments."


In Rom 10:1-3 those Jews would have been saved if they would have "submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God."

"Submitted" carries the kdea of obeying.

"righteousness of God" is God's commandments, Pas 119:172 > "all Thy commandments are righteousness"

Therefore the Jews were lost for they would not obey the commandments of God. These Jews would not believe with the heart or confess with the mouth, i.e., would not obey the gospel, Rom 10:9,10,16.

So not "submitting to God and obeying His commands" is the very reason why the Jews were lost and why they remained lost.

1 CORINTHIANS 6:9-10

9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
Thieves or covetiousness? I was thinking about that 'pastor' that lied to his people about tithing in order to bilk them. Naah! Never mine!

you COC's believe in works and obedience lead to salvation and that is 100% contrary to the word, you do so at your own peril...

Paul spells it out very plainly those Jews were lost for they have NOT submitted unto the righteousness of God.

Paul also said in Rom 6:16 "..
..obedience unto righteousness..."

Those that will not submit to God's righteousness are the ones at peril.
