i have and have had a lot of cats, with all kinds of personalities. of the 9 or 10 i have, i can tell who's who just by hearing them meow, and each has a pretty big meow vocabulary.
all the dogs i've ever met seem to have one of maybe 3 different personalities, and i'm pretty sure dog language consists of less than ten words total.
some cats "pay rent" by bringing home various bird, bug, reptile and rodent carcasses.
no dog has ever offered to share his food with me.
with dogs you have to go to a store and buy toys and snacks.
with cats you just turn on a porch light and grab a couple moths. voila, toy and snack all in one.
no one will ever call the police on you because your cat is meowing too loudly in the backyard, keeping the whole neighborhood awake.
you will never develop tinnitus because the police made you bring your loudly meowing cat inside.
you won't get a second visit from the cops at 2am because even though your cat is now inside, it's still keeping the neighbors up.
