Why do we have "Christians" that don't act like children of God? Because they are in the flesh and cannot see who God has made them in Christ, in the Spirit. "two cannot walk together unless they agree"...those who have been taught the Holy Spirit is following them around, finding their sins...are not in a true relationship with the Holy Spirit and are not able to draw from the Spirit the power and life to overcome the weakness of their flesh. Its those who know the Holy Spirit is always there to justify and give grace that overcome the flesh and the lust in this world...

Basically a half-saved sinner will act like a half-saved sinner...
A righteous child of God will act like a righteous child of God!

Romans 8:5-8, "For those who live according to the flesh, set their minds on the things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit, set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against; (bitterly opposed to), Yahweh; for it his not subject to the Law of Yahweh, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are of the flesh cannot please Yahweh."

Isayah 5:20, "Woe to those who call evil righteous, and righteous evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"

Ezekiyl 36:26-27, "A new heart; mind, will I also give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the heart of stone out of your flesh, and will give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep My Laws."

This is His Commandment. To love as He loves us..all the law is fulfilled in one word. Love

Its the Holy Spirit that teaches us His love for us not how guilty we are... but that we are beloved children of God and this causes usto walk in love . "Those who are** forgiven much love much; those who are forgiven little love little"

Its the Holy Spirit that teaches us how much we are forgiven; not how sinful we are.

Deuteronomy 6:5, "And you must love Yahweh your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might."

Exodus 20:6, "But showing love to thousands who love Me by keeping My Laws."

1 Yahchanan 5:2-3, "By this we know that we love the children of Yahweh: When we love Yahweh by keeping His Laws. For this is the love of Yahweh: That we keep His Law, and His Law is not grievous."

2 Timothy 3:5, "Having a form of holiness, but denying the authority of it--from such turn away!"

right on all counts but there needs be a balance....

1 John 3:17-19King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]17 [/SUP]But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

[SUP]18 [/SUP]My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

We teach and encourage good works based upon who we are and what we have been given in Christ...In the Spirits power , not in the works of the flesh to attain.

You can follow the translations of the Pharisees that remove the Name of the Most High, and use that as a distraction...

The Encyclopedia Judaica, Volume 7 page 680
The personal name... written in the Hebrew Bible with the four consonants YHWH and is referred to as the "Tetragrammaton." At least until the destruction of the First Temple in 586 B.C.E. this name was regularly pronounced with its proper vowels, as is clear from the Lachish Letters, written shortly before that date. But at least by the third century B.C.E. the pronunciation of the name YHWH was avoided and Adonai,"the Lord,"was substituted for it.

The Jewish Encyclopedia Volume 9, pages 162-163
The restriction upon communicating the Name proper probably originated in Oriental etiquette; in the East even a teacher was not called by name. For naming his master Elisha, Gehazi was punished with leprosy (II Kings viii. 5; Sanh. 100a). After the death of the high priest Simeon the Righteous, forty years prior to the destruction of the Temple, the priests ceased to pronounce the Name (Yoma 39b). From that time the pronunciation of the Name was prohibited. "Whoever pronounces the Name forfeits his portion in the future world" (Sanhedrin xi. 1). Hananiah ben Teradion was punished for teaching his disciples the pronunciation of the Name (`Ab. Zarah 17b).

Exodus 20:7, "You shall not take the Name of Yahweh your strength to bring it to nothing, for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless who brings it to nothing."

Revelation 22:12-15, "And behold, I come quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work will be. I am the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. For outside are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and worshipers of gods and everyone who professes to love, yet practices falsehood."

Call me what you will amongst yourselves, these words are not mine...

Good Job Hiz, but what will we wash our robes in, our works?

The blood of Messiah cleanses us of all unrighteousness:

1 John 1:6-10, "If we say that we have fellowship with Him, but walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the alight, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Yahshua Messiah His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us."

however are you willing to know:

Yaaqob 2:26, "For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so the faith without works is dead also."

and the only works that are acceptable are:

Mattithyah 7:21-23, "Not everyone who says to Me; Teacher! Teacher! will enter into the Kingdom of Yahweh, but only he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day; Teacher! Teacher! Have we not prophesied in Your Name, and cast out demons in Your Name, and in Your Name performed many wonderful works? But then I will declare to them; I never knew you. Get away from Me, you who practice iniquity."

Might be, no, is of crucial importance to know EXACTLY what INIQUITY is, as I would not recommend that any practice it...

Mattithyah 7:24-27, "Therefore, everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat against that house; but it did not fall, for it was founded upon the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, but does not do them, is like a foolish man who built his house upon the sand; And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat against that house; and it fell, and great was the fall of it."

Hiz this where I differ, the only work that God will accept is the cross. If our works were good enough then there would be no need for the cross. I have no faith in my works none what so ever.

How then are we to live? Was not Messiah the One speaking to Moses? My Bible say He is, and He says listen to Moses and not the religious leaders. The preisthood changed, not the 10 Words.

listen, or hear in kjv...in Hebrew means hear and obey. I wonder if that's why so many do not want to know what Hebrew says. I was mad at the preacher when I found out, but mostly mad at myself for not studying like a Berean. Sure we need Messiah! duh! but we also need to obey Him. Why teach anything else?

Sis what can you do, keep law, no man has been able to do it. The new covenant is based on the cross and our faith in it. Does this mean we can sin,of course not, in fact it is higher than law as I have displayed many times. The only thing that can set you free from sin is the cross. The only thing that can lead you away from sin is the cross.

Without writing a book I will say this. By placing faith in the work of the cross allows the Holy Spirit to work in you and through you. If you place your faith in anything else such as works the Holy Spirit will back off and we are own our own and we fail. This all talked about in Romans and especially chap 7. For what I will to do I do not and what I will not to do that I do. Paul was trying to live by the law as he was well trained in it. Who shall deliver me from this body of sin? I thank the Lord Jesus Christ.

It is by the cross we live for God and not by church fads nor law.

Well your conscience should...and the Word of God should be judging the thoughts and intentions of your heart ...but its the Holy Spirit that tells us even when we blow it in the flesh that we are still righteous in Christ...that we are children of God. That tells us who we are and lifts us above the flesh and causes us to trust Gods grace.

OK...thanks I was hoping you were going there...

You are however, tip toeing very close to the false doctrine of perfection, because of faith and righteousness.

Is that an accurate description of a believer?

Or are we declared righteous in Christ?

-JGIG

We are indeed declared righteous. I should have worded my question differently

That exact principle is one thing that "learned" me to pay closed attention, honestly, all from this AMAZING passage, so precious!

Deuteronomy 18:18-19, "I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brothers, and I will put My words in His mouth, and He will tell them everything I command Him. Whoever will not listen to My words, which He speaks in My Name, I will judge him for it"

"listen" is word #8085 שָׁמַע shama` {shaw-mah'}

Brown-Driver-Briggs (Old Testament Hebrew-English Lexicon)
A primitive root; to hear intelligently (often with implication of attention, obedience, etc.; causatively to tell, etc.)

Hebrew Word Study (Transliteration-Pronunciation Etymology & Grammar) - 1) to hear, listen to, obey

and Yahshua says the same;

John 12:48, "He who rejects Me, and does not follow My words has One Who judges him. The word that I have spoken, the same will be used to judge him in the last day."

Especially when the Lord Himself said what it means to believe in Him;

Luke 6:46-47

And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them.......
