IMO, Elin is correct ...
IF God carefully chooses with foreknowledge who He will "make" born-again!
He knows the end from the beginning.
He knows peoples' hearts.
He knows everything.
He CAN know that everyone He chooses to be born-again WILL make it through!
IF this is the case, then we can say that no one can be unborn.
IF this is the case, then all of the warnings are just to help the chosen.

If you do not believe in OSAS then you also believe that God constantly changes the names in the book of life. This would also mean God is not Omniscient or Immutable as we can affect the outcome and change God's mind.

The bible also teaches that many are cut loose for the destruction of the FLESH that the SPIRIT may be saved in the day of redemption...
The bible teaches that THE spirit that is born of God does not sin, cannot sin and is eternally secure in Christ\
The bible teaches that after we believe that Christ cannot deny HIMSELF as we are saved, justified and secured by the perfect FAITH of CHRIST!
The bible teaches that a saved child of God will be whipped and chastised by God for disobedience even to the point of physical death yet still remain a child of God
The bible teaches that a saved child of God does occasionally sin, fail, fall and yet will not live a continual lifestyle of sin
The bible also teaches that those who go out from us were never of us to begin with........
Many verses teach ETERNAL SECURITY.....!

so you can be born again, reject and turn away from our Lord for the rest of your life, die yet be born again? whats the un forgivable sin?

I see a lot of opinions as I went through this post, but very little scripture usage.
We should let the bible which is the words of God speak for themselves, as here is a couple from Hebrews;
Hebrews 3:12-14
Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.
Hebrews 6:4-6
For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.

Don't think this is relevant to the OSAS argument (which my view is unsupportable)
But unforgiveable sin does exist. Mark 3:28-29 and Matthew 12:31-32. Blaspheming the holy spirit.
There is of course a substantial difference between sin that can potentially be forgiven and sin that is actually forgiven.
one is born into life and when life is separated from the body we say he is dead we do not say he is unborn....likewise if someone is born again in the spirit (saved)if they do not obey(follow) the spirit we do not say they are unborn...they are returned to their former state (unsaved)or spiritually dead....

why is it not relevant.....the very idea of an unforgivable sin refutes OSAS....to support OSAS one cannot also support unforgivable sin exist....

Someone mentioned not much Biblical passages used. No not a one from me because it all lies upon Omniscience, Immutability and Sovereignty. Who alone has all three or even just one of those attributes? Who alone created? Who alone is God! Who created you?

This does apply to the OSAS debate, because those who believe this no matter what they do they can not lose salvation. However I have seen some who believe in this, but then have an unforgiving heart toward others. And when told about that they have said I don't have to forgive them. However the Lord said if you do not forgive others, He will not forgive you. And the last time I checked having your sins forgiven and covered is a prerequisite for salvation, or your still enmity to God. Paul confirms what He said to;

“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.[/h]
Ephesians 4:32
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

I agree that a born baby cannot become unborn, whether physically or spiritually, but even a newborn baby can die if it does not feed off of its food supply.
The unforgivable sin is attributing the work of Christ to the power of the devil which is a permanent sate of unbelief....If you believe that Jesus did the work by the power of the devil as opposed to the workings and power of the H.S. then you deny Jesus and who he is....which is UNBELIEF!

I mentioned much biblical passages, exhaustively in my other thread. Tell me which will give a better insight to who God really is- the thoughts in your head, or the words from His mouth?
I suggest a re-evaluation as the unforgivable sin is a permanent state of unbelief which the Pharisees were showing when they rejected Christ as being from God and doing the work by the power of the devil!

Hmm I believe by having a look at who God truly is by actually studying His attributes will reveal much. If anyone disregards His Incommutable attributes in any way then they disregard God as God.

if someone came to me and asked me this cause they were worried about it, i would tell them the very fact that you are worried tells me your heart is guiding you in the correct direction so dont worry about it.
