James 1:27 , Religion that is pure and undefiled before Yah, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. "

Psalm 82:3-4, "(You should) defend the weak and fatherless! (You should) maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed! (You should) rescue the poor and needy, and deliver them from the hands of the wicked."

This is what walking in/with Him produces outwardly, such beauty;

Galatians 5:22-23, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering; patience, kindness, righteousness, The Faith; Meekness; gentleness, humility, temperance; self-control--such things are not against any Law."

love, real love, by the standard of Messiah

joy, great peace and comfort

peace, a state in which there is no fighting

longsuffering, patiently enduring lasting offense or hardship

kindness, being respectful and gentle to others

righteousness, only Yah can define this in His word; right and Lawful acts in the eyes of Yah...

Faith, strong belief or trust in Yah and what He says

Meekness, humbly patient, as under provocation from others.

gentleness, not harsh or severe

self-control, the ability to exercise restraint or control over one's feelings, emotions, reactions, etc

Joh 21:9 As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.

Joh 21:15 So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest (agapaō) thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love (phileō) thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
Joh 21:16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest (agapaō) thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
Joh 21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest (phileō) thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love (phileō) thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

God is love.

Let’s look at how Yeshua brought Peter back from this place where Peter felt so ashamed and numb that he almost gave up his discipleship. The word used in John 21:9 to describe the fire is anthrakia. The only other time we find this word in the Bible is when Peter warmed his hands when he denied Yeshua (interestingly enough 3 times). In a way Yeshua took Peter back to this place of sin and show him love

Joh 18:18 And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.

Standard teaching is that agape is the highest and purest kind of love. It is divine love and is used to express the essential nature of God

Phileo is distinguished as being the more personal of the two terms and refers often to a brotherly love.

Yeshua took Peter back to this place of weakness and sin and He basically gave him a chance to repent. That is love, the will to forgive and the chance to repent.

beautiful. thank you for this. praise Yah.

kind of a little bit of "Peter" in all of us, and His patient love is there for all of us, amazing...

What is love according to the Creator? How do we love Him? How do we love our neighbor? If we are called to love should we not meditate on this?

love is humility. It is a total disregard for self. it is self sacrificing, it is all giving, it is something we have no power to do apart from God.

"we love because he first loved us"

ty for the post, these things are indeed love, and right principles to pray/think about/meditate on and walk in...

Beyond humbling.

"Greater love has no one than this: that one would lay down his life on behalf of his brothers."

................LOVE...............

View attachment 96787

Think about this part for a second;

John (Yahchanan) 15:5,13,14 "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, produces much fruit... Greater love has no one than this: that one would lay down his life on behalf of his brothers. You are My brothers, if you do whatever I command you."

He said; "Greater love has no one than this: that one would lay down his life on behalf of his brothers"

Now I do take that to mean that this is the greatest love a human can show another human, but was He (Yahshua/Jesus) talking about Himself? About what He knew was coming?

"Greater love has no one than this: that one would lay down his life on behalf of his brothers. You are My brothers, if you do whatever I command you."

"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, produces much fruit..."

"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, produces much fruit... Greater love has no one than this: that one would lay down his life on behalf of his brothers. You are My brothers, if you do whatever I command you."

What do you think?

"lay down his life on behalf of his brothers" (Is Yahshua/Jesus saying He is about to lay down His life for "his brothers"?).

"You are My brothers, if you do whatever I command you."

Using "The Great 2 Commandments" as a starting point I ask, what is love? No our hearts version of love, or out minds version of love. What is love according to the Most High and His sent One, Yahshua/Jesus? We are told to love YWHH and love our neighbor, I think it would be beneficial to dwell on this?

John 7:16-17 "Yahshua answered, them, and said: My doctrine is not Mine, but His Who sent Me. If any man will do His will, he will know about this teaching--whether it comes from Yahweh, or whether I am speaking of My own authority."

John 12:48, "He who rejects Me, and does not follow My words has One Who judges him. The word that I have spoken, the same will be used to judge him in the last day."

John 5:24, "Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word, and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and doesn't come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life."

Using "The Great 2 Commandments" as a starting point I ask, what is love?

Mattithyah 22:37-40,

"Yahshua said to him:

You must love Yahweh your Father with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.

This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it:

You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."

The bible states that "God is Love". This may be a bit hard for us to grasp, but nevertheless it is Gods word. God's very essence is "Love". The bible also states in Gen that we are made in His image and likeness, and also that we are His vessels. In fact, this is why even unbelieving man has a "love consciousness", albeit with limitations. We have a sense of love and even feel a need for love precisely because we are made in the Image and likeness of God,...who IS love. That's why it is God's eternal desire to get Himself INTO man to fill mans vessel, that even man could possess the divine love and even be filled with it. Without our vessel being filled with the divine love, we have no capacity to love others in the way God loves others, nor do we have ability to love God with all our heart. To illustrate, imagine a empty glove. It is made in the image and likeness of a hand, yet is void of the life of the hand. It only appears as a hand. It actually has no way to function like a real hand, until it is filled up with the hand. Then the glove has purpose, proper function and expression. You might insert something other than a hand into the glove such as piece of wood. This might even fill up the glove. Yet the glove would still be purposeless and not fulfill its designed function. We are exactly like this. We are made in the shape of God. That means we are made precisely to contain the divine love, even the divine personage of Christ Himself. That's why Jesus said "he who eats Me, shall live because of Me". This passage implies that something gets into us. Be receiving this divine Life (love) thru Christ, we can begin growing towards what God always intended man to be, that is to live and express the God-man living. This is Christ. Christ is the unique God-man, yet He is not to remain the only one. One grain fell into the earth and died that many grains could come forth. This is what it is to be born again of God. Thus, man can truly express the divine love, verses only the fallen and limited human love that is only a shadow of Gods love. This is also why it feels so good and right to receive Gods life in Christ. Because this Life..fits. The "hand" slides into the glove for the first time. This is what we are here for, this is why we were created. This is why the apostle Paul could finally state after coming into union with Christ: "for me to live, is Christ". May all of us come to this place, where we come into union with God in Christ and receive the divine love into our being that we could begin to grow in this Love by partaking daily of the rich feast we have in Christ.

"God is Love"

Great post, ty for these thoughts. Too much to comment on each part but, "May all of us come to this place, where we come into union with God in Christ" this, the basis of everything right, the entire plan of Salvation, the extended arm of the Most High, the highest calling known to man! praise Yah!

May we hold fast to this and keep it in our minds and hearts.

John 15:11(ESV), "These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full."

What is love according to God? Or what does Scripture mean by "God is love"? It comes down to one word "Agape". The pure sacrificial love of God. This is how we are to love God and love our neighbors. Agape!

yet that is not the only way love is described in the bible is it?

anyone want to know how to love.

Study Gods plan of salvation (he loved us when we were his enemy, became man and died in our place)

Study the life of Christ (he never once took for self, or thought of self)

Mans love can not come close to matching the love of God, thats why we need his love to shine though us, for it is the only way we can be a light in the world. and draw others to God.

Yeremyah 17:5-8, "This is what Yahweh says: Cursed is the man who trusts in man, who makes flesh his arm; strength, and whose heart departs from Yahweh. For he will be like a bush in the desert, and will not see success when it comes, but will inhabit the parched places in the wilderness; a salt land not inhabited! Blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh, and whose hope is Yahweh. For he will be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes. Its leaves are always green; it will not be worried in the year of drought, and never ceases to yield fruit."

Proverbs 1:29-31, "Because they hated knowledge, and did not choose to give reverence to Yahweh! Since they would have none of my counsel, and despised all my rebuke and warning. They will eat the fruit of their own ways, and be completely idled with their own devices."

John (Yahchanan) 15:4-6, "Abide in Me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot produce fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, produces much fruit; but without Me, you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away like a branch, and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned."

Is seeking obedience and submission to Him and everything He says a start to abiding in Him or is ignoring what He says abiding in Him?

Mattithyah 7:21-23, "Not everyone who says to Me; Teacher! Teacher! will enter into the Kingdom of Yahweh, but only he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day; Teacher! Teacher! Have we not prophesied in Your Name, and cast out demons in Your Name, and in Your Name performed many wonderful works? But then I will declare to them; I never knew you. Get away from Me, you who practice iniquity."

Mattithyah 7:24-27, "Therefore, everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat against that house; but it did not fall, for it was founded upon the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, but does not do them, is like a foolish man who built his house upon the sand; And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat against that house; and it fell, and great was the fall of it."

not sure what your trying to say here, or what this has to do with how to love your enemy, your neighbor, or God.

not being mocking, jut not sure what your trying to say.

I was using Scripture to illustrate our need to abide in Him and everything He says if we want to walk in love. That with out Him and what He says people are in error. It was agreeing with what you said, and posing the question of, "Is seeking obedience and submission to Him and everything He says a start to abiding in Him or is ignoring what He says abiding in Him?"

Yeremyah 17:5-8, "...Blessed is the man who trusts in Yahweh, and whose hope is Yahweh..."

In my view, Walking in love is abiding in him, It is allowing his love to flow through you. Anything short of this is not abiding in Christ, and in reality, is sin.

If we do this, we will always do his will. no matter what it is.

the problem is, we do not do this enough, our flesh is strong,, and we need a beat down from God every now and then..lol
