It would appear not all have learned from the Master that He and the Father are One. Perfect reasoning. God bless you always..amen

C'mon my friend, you know WHO gave the Law at Mt. Sinai. It was Christ. How many different versions of Law do you think He has?

thats ridiculous, Jesus is the God of the OT, everyone knows this, that was not what was being discussed.

in John 15 Jesus refers to THIER law. also, as I posted in another thread, the law came through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus. in other gospels, Jesus refers to what Moses commanded.

Jessus teaches of the original Flock and the other to be brought together with that original. Jesus teaches of the faith of Abraham, our faith, and this is sthe only true name of the faith for anyone who believes Him He is Messiah. The believers were first called Messianic at Antioch, Hellenized that word would be Christiian. Jesus Christ teaches the law will not change, and anyone teaching agains the least of the lws will be least in the Kingdom of heaven. And we must always remember when vainly attempting to refute that Jesus Christ and the Father are One, the first chapter of John which teaches us plainly that Jesus Christ is the Word and the Word is God. Yes, He gave the law to Moses to write down. Until that time the law had been orally preserved as tradition, however man had drifted far away from keeping it.

so are you sinless?

ps. John 1 also says Jesus was with God. you forgot to leave that out.

If your Bible says...

Exo 20:1 And Moses spake all these words, saying,
Exo 20:2 I am Moses, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

Then run, don't walk to the place you bought and return it, it contains heresy. Here is what the Bible says...

Exo 20:1 And God spake all these words, saying,
Exo 20:2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

so have you fulfilled, what gb9 says, was given THROUGH moses? Ps, I hope you got the pun, gb9 did not say it was given by moses, but through him, maybe you missed it?

Luke 5 14 any version you choose. John 15 25 any version you choose.

No, I did not miss it. I find it interesting that if one can attach Moses' name to it, somehow it is suppose to carry the same weight as if it is the Law of God. Moses Law can apparently be changed, done away with, abrogated, whereas the Law of God is more important. The Torah is not the contrivance of Moses, it is God's revelation of His Law.

You keep skipping the question.

Have you fulfilled that law given by moses. It was given for a reason, have you fulfilled that reason?

Luke 5 14 any version you choose. John 15 25 any version you choose.

So,

Exo 16:4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.

really meant Moses' Law?

The thread title is God's Law and if we can somehow denigrate the Ten Commandments, the Statutes and the Judgments and make them of some man, we do not have to recognize them?

non of this matters, if you have not fulfilled that law. Because that is what that law requires.

have you fulfilled it? Has anyone other than Christ fulfilled it?

The Law of God includes all that was written in the Book of the Law of Moses. That is the Torah. All of the Old Covenant law was given by God through Moses -- so the law is called the "Law of God" in once place and the law is called the "Law of Moses" in another place. They are the same thing. The Bible agrees with this. Any Bible dictionary you can point to agrees with this. Three thousand four hundred years of Jewish tradition agrees with this.

When Deuteronomy 4:44 introduces a review of the Law of Moses, what are the very first laws Moses reviewed? The Ten Commandments (Deuteronomy 5:1-22). It is inescapable that the Law of Moses includes the Ten Commandments.
The review ends in Deuteronomy 31. Everything in between is without question included in the Law of Moses (and that most certainly includes Deuteronomy 14). In Joshua 8:31, Joshua quotes from Deuteronomy and calls it the Book of the Law of Moses. But it's not just Deuteronomy that comprises the Law of Moses, but the entire Torah!

Even so, I know from experience what little evidence it takes to convince someone who wants to believe a thing, and what overwhelming proof and time it takes to convince someone that what they hold dear is false. So, a quick reference for you to begin studying and realize that what you've been taught is absolutely wrong.

  • Nehemiah refers to Ezra's reading of "the book of the law of Moses" in chapter eight, verse one, and then just seven verses later calls the exact same book "the Law of God."
  • In verse 14 of the same chapter, he again identifies them as one and the same, writing "the Law (Torah) which the LORD had commanded by Moses."
  • In 2 Chronicles 35:6, it is recorded that the command went out to Israel, ""Now slaughter the Passover animals, sanctify yourselves and prepare for your brethren to do according to the word of the LORD by Moses."
You are advocating what I call "Armstrongism," which claims to strictly follow the Law, including the Jewish high holy days, but refuses, for example to build booths for the Feast of Booths. The who approach to the Bible from this perspective may not be heretical, but it isn't sanctified Christianity, either. You need to abandon for rational faith, worship, and practice.

come on john, I want your opinion on why in these verses that Jesus made a distinction that was not made elsewhere?? could it mean that you know, since he is God he can dertermine what law to keep and what law to change?? how about the times he says you have heard it said, but I say to you. this is why we have a NEW TESTAMENT not a continuation of the old.

You can call it a space shuttle if you like, I have quoted from scripture.

You know the really cool thing about it all is the simplicity of Christ that all the law is fulfilled in one word love and that is His Commandment. So any honest person can see that love fulfills the law not legalism! :)

How do you love your neighbor? Got any guidelines that would help me understand what to do?
