One thing all must realize, faith without works is dead, but this does not refer to the law, it refers to all good works of any believer. Prayer, waiting for the Lord, acts of love in genera, study of the Word, sharing theWord, and much more are works. Now our new man does obey the law for it is written on his inward parts and on the tablet of the heart. With this understoo, and knowing no man justifies himself in any manner exept by faith, we live in grace. Living in grae we may study the laws and we know which are and which are not to be obeyed because of Jesus Christ. We know to love our enemy. We know not to kill. We know to honnor our parents. We know if we find our enemy's property to return it. We know so many things.

If we see the law of not planting two types of seed in the same field, we think of the Sower and the seed He sowed. The Sower is Jesus Christ, the field is the world and the seed is the Gospel. He would not dream of sowing more than on gospel. The same hold true for not using two types of cloth togethr, our garments are our deeds, and we do not mix dirty with clean and so forth. There is much to be learned from the law given to Moses. Consider, he was given more than the oral laws that had been in effect since Adam, the additional laws concerned the promised land and the Temple. This would be the earthly, not what we await. Now it becomes clear as to just how many of the laws cannot be approached any longer since the Temple is no more, and we are not living in the physical Israel. It is a matter of reading the law and learning it in the light of Jesus Christ, with the veil removed. God bless you.

I Dont believe anyone would admit that's what. They are trying to do but according to Gods word that's exactly what folks under the law of Moses are trying to establish. Be sure many here are in great error and bound by trying to justify themselves by works of the law.

so how much work proves one faith is real. or proves one faith is dead? what is the cut off line?

That tells me if you have one work, your faith is not dead. because it says if you have zero zip dada works, your faith is dead.

so it would appear this is a faulty at best passage to support one must work to be saved, or if he stops work he loses salvation.

Sorry, But you claim it is easy to read, yet are you really reading what it says?

again.

faith without works. (no work included)

can a man who claims he has faith, but has no works. (no = zero zip nada)

that tells me there were no works whatsoever performed by the people claiming to have faith. Not some work, but not enough work. Or works for a time, but works stopped. To say this is to add to the scripture.

This demonstrates pure contentin for contention's sake. If a person does righteous works and then turns to a life of sin, and remains there, his works are null and voic, however should he repent and turn back to the Lord then he will be counted righteous for that in itself is works, however no one who has faith can stop at that, nor do they. Stop the contentionnow. Good night from this side of the sea. God bless all who are in Jesus Christ, amen

contention?

I asked about the passage in question, and you call it contention? you did not even prove me wrong in the passage. which shows you are the one trying to be in contention.

as for someone born of God turning to a life of sin.

The apostle john states that is impossible. your argument is with him.

And God bless you JaumeJ.

And God bless you JaumeJ.

God bless him?

So can you show how James said ANYTHING other than no works?

He slams me, does not prove me wrong, and you bless him?? WOW I have seen everything now.

by the way, you have not answered yet, Have you fulfilled the law? You know. the way God demands?

Again I must wonder at those who preach law and works and not love? When we know love fulfills all that God commands. Do you guys really desire to see true obedience or just legalism?

Love is the most natural and one of the first works of the new creature in Jesus Christ. There are so many works availed to those who love Jesus Christ. Unhappily none of us can do enough, for there is nothing that can pay for the Blood of the Lamb shed for us each, yet He sees our works as freewill offerings to Him because of our thankfulness. Thanksgiving is the only sacrifice we may give to God at this time...........

What part of fulfilling every commandment of God in love sounds like dead faith to you. As I have said again and again " nothing profits but faith WORKING by love.

My friend you seem to miss the point? Love is the fulfillment of all of Gods commandments those who do not teach love are not teaching true obedience to God!

And those who do not teach this...

1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments.
1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.

What do you suppose they are teaching?

In love, all of the law is fulfilled, but this love is an ongoing work. With some, sadly, love grows cold. We must strive to enter into the Kingdom of God. Please, if you keep saying others "miss the point," this iwill become your fame, and you aalready have been noted as missing many of the points not only made by me, but by many others.

Do not teach agains the law and the commandments of God, not even against the least of them, lest you be the least in the Kingdom to come.

It is because many do not know the teachings of Jesus ¨Christ before latching on to Paulian only that they are missing many points. It is Paul wh asks all believers "Did I die for you?" No the gospel he preaches is the same as that of Jesus Christ. thats strange.

you claim we could never do enough, or even do anything.

yet you think one can lose salvation.

those are contradictory statements.

that those who have faith in Christ, and a love and appreciation for saving them will do those things. (true faith produes true word)

what amazes me, is people claim they can lose salvation. when they born of God.

putting the law in its place is not teaching against the law.
in fact. those who claim one can lose salvation teach against the law. because they claim the law will not condemn them, because of their good deeds, but condemn others, because they do not have enough good deeds,

when the law states you break one command (no matter how small a sin it is) you are guilty of the whole law, and as paul and moses said, under a curse (death)

Who alive has been able to meet that requirement?

All the commandment s of God are fulfilled in one word love so those who are not teaching love are not teaching others to keep Gods commandments ... legalism is not love. And John tells us the commandments of God are to believe on Jesus and love as He gave us commandment. Its called the simplicity of Christ!

What? The commandment if Christ is to love as He loves us. All the Apostles taught love as the fulfilment of all the law.

Love, love, love. Explain how we love our neighbor.
