27 As he talked with Cornelius, Peter went inside where he ·saw [L found] many people gathered. 28 He said, “You people understand that it is against our law for Jewish people to associate with or visit anyone who is a ·foreigner [Gentile].

22 They said, “A holy angel spoke to Cornelius, ·an army officer [L a centurion] and a ·good [righteous] man; he ·worships [L fears] God. ·All the people [L The whole Jewish nation] ·respect [speak well of; L testify to] him.

when someone can simply keep following a blind man, they both fall in the pit.

there's no known way to get them to love or to seek jesus or the truth - they've already lock-stepped in place with who they trust instead.
and jesus simply says 'the blind lead the blind, and they both fall into the pit; leave them alone'.....

even jesus did not give a solution nor a way to save the blind following the blind!

still, prayer may help..... it is the only chance they have, if yahweh permits.

Acts 5:29 “Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.”

Peter and all the other apostles and all the ekklesia including 'righteous' gentiles who the Jews respected,

kept the sabbath for a good five centuries after yahshua resurrected and ascended into heaven.

........................
they obeyed God.
.......................

then the roman abomination coming to power and joining with the heathen power constantine had, changed things some quickly and some gradually.
and they killed those who obeyed God.

In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: [SUP]

2 [/SUP]Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. [SUP]

3 [/SUP]For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]They will turn(have turned) their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

i thought you said the law was abolished.

nonetheless, why don't you love jesus then ? and why don't you love yahweh the creator ?

Well of course I do Love Jesus and His Commandment to love...and in this one word all the law is fulfilled....so no need for all this strife about the law.

Ro 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

I must admit I find this interesting reading what people say about the Sabbath.

I am confused about some things though.

How is it that by obeying God I am a legalist?

how is it that by resting one day a week, on the Day He made is it works?

.

You are following that law because it is a literal law written down, not spontaneously from the heart out of love for God. If there was no written commandment that said. ''Observe the sabbath'(Saturday) you wouldn't observe it. The born again person does not follow because the literal law says obey, they follow what is placed within them by the Holy Spirit at the point of conversion, for he brought rebirth to them:

You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. 2Cor3:3

Mr 12:28 ¶ And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? 29 And Jesus answered him,The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

You only do as you have testified above, because Christ said doing so is fulfilling the two greatest commandments. It is a literal law written down for you in the scriptures therefore you keep it. If there wasn't a written command from Christ telling you to do this you would not observe it. Therefore are you guilty of legalism, doing that which you claim only because it is a written law of scripture. Your just like us, and therefore there is no way you can be observing this command from Christ because you are born again by the Spirit. If we can't because the law is written, then you can't because what you say you are doing is also written as a commandment.

How about that, it turns out for all your defiance and accusation against those who obey God, you are guilty of exactly the same. I guess if you had never read the bible, then what you say you believe could possibly be true, but we know you have, therefore according to your own teaching you can no longer love God and man by the Spirit. We know it is all by the letter not the Spirit because you have not only read it, but quoted it to us many times. According to your own standard, you are condemned with us.

Ro 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Oh, there is that dirty word again, obey. Get a grip, faith comes by hearing the word of God. Obeying God by faith in His word is not at all what you suggest. It is just another twisted argument by those rejecting truth. What can you do but twist and manipulate the word of God, for you have rejected some of its testimony for what it plainly says.

Obedience is love...not legalism! Obedience is to Christ, not to Moses.

Joh 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

observe

there are sabbath keepers who live the new life in Jesus.

there are sabbath keepers who don't.

there are or have been some who live the new life in Jesus who don't apparently keep sabbath. (corrie ten boom, keith green, watchman nee, david wilkerson, e.w. bullinger, hutterites, amish, mennonites .... long possible list....)

it is a mystery to me but it rests with God Himself.

whether honoring sabbath or not, those who do not live the new life in Jesus are not his in any case.

all through the scripture is hundreds or thousands of very specific and also general descriptions of BELIEVERS LIVING HIS LIFE.

the sermon on the mount is 'famous' , and is true.

1 john is God's Word, and is rarely if ever read in chruches, and even more rarely lived and understood. (though it is simple)

1 peter is God's Word, and is rarely if ever read in chruches, and even more rarely lived and understood. (though it is simple)

Jesus said directly that few will find the road to life.

few. simple to see, read and understand 'few'.

but this means not many.
this means the majority, the crowd, the bulk of people around you don't find life. ever.

Wow Michael56 ...all good works must come from love ...excellent post !

Obedience is love...not legalism! Obedience is to Christ, not to Moses.

Joh 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

so obey Jesus.

he said to those standing in front of him that if they had obeyed Moses, they would be alive, but they refused.

he said if you won't listen to Moses, you won't believe Me (Jesus).

the lie tries to separate them - Moses and Jesus. Jesus upholds Moses. if you reject Moses, you reject Jesus directly.

So if you love like the bible commands you wont go around lying :)

Paul, James and others disagree with you. We are told to OVERCOME our nature. Out nature pulls us in the wrong direction...

Rev 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Albert Barnes has this...

To him that overcometh - Greek, “To him that gains the victory, or is a conqueror” - τῷ νικῶντι tō nikōnti. This may refer to any victory of a moral character, and the expression used would be applicable to one who should triumph in any of these respects:
(a) over his own easily-besetting sins;
(b) over the world and its temptations;
(c) over prevalent error;
(d) over the ills and trials of life, so as, in all these respects, to show that his Christian principles are firm and unshaken.
Life, and the Christian life especially, may be regarded as a warfare. Thousands fall in the conflict with evil; but they who maintain a steady warfare, and who achieve a victory, shall be received as conquerors in the end.

The Christian life is not a greased slide into the Kingdom. It is a life of overcoming, growing and becoming more like God every day.

everyone who loves God and who loves Jesus His Son also loves all of his children and also loves all of His prophets ,
love
is
not
an emotion. it is not a feeling. it is the attitude and life of by faith doing what God says to do. pleasing God.

always. doing the word.

doing what Jesus says to do. doing what Jesus does. instead of doing what hasatan does. instead of doing what the world does.

no one who says they love God, but walks in darkness, is telling the truth. Yahweh's Decree. Yahweh's Word.

so obey Jesus.

he said to those standing in front of him that if they had obeyed Moses, they would be alive, but they refused.

he said if you won't listen to Moses, you won't believe Me (Jesus).

the lie tries to separate them - Moses and Jesus. Jesus upholds Moses. if you reject Moses, you reject Jesus directly.

Yes a believer obeys Jesus by keeping His Commandment to love...and in love all the law and every commandment of God is fulfilled.

What? No what is clearly taught is that ALL the law is fulfilled in one word...love

1Jo 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

What? No what is clearly taught is that ALL the law is fulfilled in one word...love

1Jo 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

No, what is CLEARLY taught is that love is the brief summary of the Commandments...

Rom 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

What is CLEARLY taught is that keeping the Commandments is love...

Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

2Jn 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

Christ says keeping the Commandments is pretty important...

Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

So did Paul...

1Co 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

John also...

1Jn 2:3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1Jn 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1Jn 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
1Jn 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

In fact, that is what you will find the true saints of God doing...

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

So, Mitspa, perhaps you ought to read this verse and meditate on it...

Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Yes a believer obeys Jesus by keeping His Commandment to love...and in love all the law and every commandment of God is fulfilled.

Well, lessee here, do you love God enough to keep the seventh day Sabbath?

This is a very easy question, it has a monosyllabic answer...

yes or no?

what part of "all the law is fulfilled in one word" are you missing?

Ro 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

what part of "all the law is fulfilled in one word" are you missing?

Hmmm, what part of love is the summary of the Ten Commandments are you missing.

But just as I suspected, you love with your words but not with your actions. Do you love God enough to keep His seventh day Sabbath?
