This is something that people from both genders do, but I wanted to mention it, as someone recently really made my day (or week :)) by doing this :).

It's very helpful to be specific in one's compliments. This friend mentioned something I had done months ago that had helped him calm down, and I found it very motivational to be told that it had been helpful, though he had thanked me at the time as well. He mentioned another time that women help men calm down really well, and it makes me feel like my femininity isn't being wasted, for lack of a better way to phrase it. As in, my being female is still helping, even though I'm not married and could just as easily be male (easier, some would argue =P). Most of us like to know that we're assisting others in one way or another in life especially if it means that we ourselves have a harder time as a result.

Just a quick note: someone mentioned that asking Jesus into one's heart was false doctrine, and I'm not positive how she meant it, but He was very specific about "abide in Me, and I in you" (John 15:4), and Him being our Savior from sin (1 Peter 1:18-19, among MANY others). I'm ignoring some things that I disagree with, but I intend to defend the Gospel.
(raises hand and clears throat) I'd just like to go on record sayin' that Jilly here is telling the truth being as how I'm one of those things she disagrees with.

No Ken, no. You're one of those PEOPLE I disagree with.

I mean, seriously, you think women are prettier than men? Or are you going to deny ever having made that statement, and I'm going to be forced to show evidence?

With the exception of Bruce Jenner, absolutely yes I do.

I soooooo appreciate a gentleman who is unpretentious. To me, that speaks confidence and strength more than anything. Thank you, guys! :)

What I like about guys is they are kinda "what you see is what you get" you don't have to over analyse with them, everything is open with no hidden agenda and yeah I agree about the hands too.

Part of the process...when we are weak we are made strong :) Part of the process is a comparative thing between the sexes.
I've yet to notice a single woman do this. To see the good in someone doesn't require comparison. Only an awareness of the goodness. Observe.

One thing i like about women is how sensitive they can be in knowing when someone is hurting.

I love it when a guy goes out of his way to make me feel 'special'. It takes a special man of God to do that.:)

Sad that most of the men's comments involve putting men down in order to say something positive about women.
Who's putting anyone down? Women are better at some things, and I'm glad they are. Men are better at some things, and from the comments here some women seem to be glad they are.

i like how guys talk with sound effects, especially musicians. practice with the praise and worship music team is always interesting lol
I have never taken any real notice of this, but it is so true! Why do we use sound effects more often than women? I want to know!

Their ability to have the beauty, gentleness and grace of an early morning sunrise seen over the mid spring horizon of the ocean.

Their ability to warm a hard cold heart with just a look and a smile.

Their ability to make you feel like you've gained the world with just a second of their attention, and you've lost the world if they give you none.

Their ability to stay in your mind with one well placed word, yet their ability to stay in your mind if they stop speaking.

Their ability to convey pages of feelings with one vocal inflection, yet have the ability to convey no meaning with an endless volley of words.

Okay, here is a good one. Specifically a professional thing.

Where I work, women are generally better at throwing together events. Granted, there are some great men who know how to throw a party (specifically a party for men), but women are generally better at throwing together events for both men and women.

So yeah, if I need to create a social get-together out of whole cloth, that work goes to the nearest female intern.

I'm pretty sure this comment destroyed the loving and kind intent behind this thread.

Yep... I read it again and didn't see anything edifying in it at all. Try again Age. I know you can do better. Show us Christ. :)

Haven't we already covered that at great length... in excruciating detail... in pages and pages and PAGES... in a certain other thread? Wasn't that enough?

I think that implies a comparison? But anyway.....I agree what would this world be if not for the compassion they cause us to remember.

Angie, happily the intent was untouched, but yes, let's get back to the kind words for each other :).
