Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God [SUP]22 [/SUP]and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. [SUP]23 [/SUP]And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us 1John 3:21-23
[h=1]1 John 3:20-21English Standard Version (ESV)[/h] [SUP]20 [/SUP]for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything. [SUP]21 [/SUP]Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God;

and who is he talking to?
( this is a few verses earlier...)

1 John 2:3-6, "And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of Yah is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked." (ESV)

God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything.
1 Corinthians 4:4-5, "For I know nothing by myself; yet by this I am not justified, for He Who judges me is Yahweh! Therefore, judge nothing before the time. Wait until Yahshua comes, Who will bring to light the things hidden in darkness, and will reveal the secret intentions of men's hearts; and then each man will receive praise from Yahweh."

Love fulfils the law. As Paul said. Carry each others burdens and so fulfil the law of Christ
Do you not agree with Paul?

This point is made generally, and not specifically to you
Has not Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps the law. Why are you trying to kill me?” John 7:19

Now how many Christians strive to obey each and every literal command of Christ? And if some do, how many succeed?

It is better to say love God and love your neighbour than to stress what you do not succeed doing in your own life, or for the vast majority even attempt to do

Romans 13:9-10, "For the commandments: You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not bring false testimony, You shall not covet, and (G #2087 ) all other commandments are summed up ( #G346 ) in these Laws; namely: You must love your neighbor as yourself. Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law."

Hold fast to it for the sake of faith. “Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:17).

Hold fast to it for the sake of life. “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).

How come religion takes so much effort to make so complex what Christ and His Word, make so simple?

Heb 10:15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
You are, with all due respect, sadly 'shortsighted' to verse 17, the HOLY SPIRIT reveals that GOD will remember not the past sins and iniquities that HE has forgiven thee, due to punishment on judgement.

Make sure you obey everything that have been put in your heart, as you have quoted and believe that is the Living Truth, in verse 16, or else 'thou' will be declare by the LORD, 'on that day' as workers of 'lawlessness/iniquity'.

Verse 15, the HOLY SPIRIT, 'is also a witness to us' who also 'inspired' the HOLY BIBLE and everything written in it, not only what you have partially quoted in lack revelation partial faith.

GOD bless you in LORD JESUS CHRIST's name.

We should aim to love Yah and our fellow humans as explained by Yah...

using the word as the standard to test our hearts.

You see, reading the literal letter of commands does not make you love, but loving others brings you to live as God wants you to with your fellow man

The question is: does love really say that we don't need what is written in these "literal letters"? I do not see this dichotomy that is widespread in our day in scripture. Does not regeneration give us a will to do what is just and how can this doing ever be in conflict with what is written in the Holy Scriptures?

Three years ago, my mother whom I dearly loved was diagnosed terminally ill with cancer. My wife and I went to look after her in her own home at that time. I lived closer to the biblical ideal during that time than I have ever lived. I did not covet what was my mothers, I did not want to murder her, steal from her, lie about her, I honoured her. My happiness was in seeing her happy in the time she had left to live. My pleasure was in doing the things with her she so loved to do.
During this time, I never once had to think of any of the Ten Commandments in order to treat my mother that way, I never gave them a thought, yet I was obeying them. Why? Because I loved my mother dearly

So you had done your reading and believing what you read. No conflict there.

But there was a time you read it.
Oh yes, but as I said, I never thought of what I had read in order to live that way. What I had read did not even cross my mind at that time

I repeat. If a person has to read the literal words of the Ten Commandments to know how God wants them to live, they have a major problem in my view
Just for clarification,

What then is the standard by which we can tell if we are in deed in Grace or not.

If I tell my child its wrong to sin, Unless I tell her what sin is will she not stumble in darkness?

If I tell her to do right, Do I not need to explain to here and direct her in what right is?

Just curious.

Sin is transgression of the law. The law God requires a person to keep is placed on their heart and written on their mind at the point of conversion. Therefore through the law placed in your inward parts you have heartfelt conviction of your sin. Under such circumstances, why would you need to read the literal letter to be made conscious of sin? That would negate one of the two core components of the new covenant. But I would stress, that does in no way negate the importance of reading scripture. I was brought up in a fundamentalist church, the bible is of the greatest importance to me and I read it avidly.
The Christian knows the law God requires them to keep, for when they do not live as they should, they must have heartfelt conviction of their sin.
Has that fully answered the question you raised?

Thank you for your answer.

If this is the case what then would you say to a child that has been taught to trust Jesus for their salvation, Has been taught about their need of the Holy Spirit and they ask for the law to be written on their hearts Yet they still do not understand right from wrong.

Is not the law written on the heart and the mind, so intellectual understanding has to come into it does it not?
