Perhaps you did not read my comment carefully. It states a person must believe Christ to be the Son of God to be saved. Are you querying that?
The way you worded it, sounded like you were thinking He was the offspring of GOD.
Besides "BELIEVE" in the Jewish way of thinking means MUCH MORE THAN JUST acknowledging a fact.
It carries with it a complete TRUST and Commitment to acting on what you claim to BELIEVE; and anything less is NOT Believing.
If it was only acknowledging WHO Jesus is, then the 2000 Demons He confronted in the two demoniacs at Gadera would also be Saved:
Mark 5:7 (HCSB)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] And he cried out with a loud voice, “What do You have to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You before God, don’t torment me!”
I do not believe there is SALVATION apart from genuinely mourning one's utter sinfulness and repentance; and WILLINGLY receiving Jesus as LORD, which is complete submission to HIM as MASTER. Anything less is what the Demons in the verse above did.
