Are you kidding me?! Do you know how many youth groups praise and worship the Lord to rap, hip-hop and metal? All three of my (now adult) kids were actively involved in youth group & ministries for years and witnessed kids from all over come to their worship & praise nights and give their hearts to the Lord! They also had disciple teams, who helped these kids grow in Christ Jesus. These kids forfeited their weekends of partying for a night of praising & worshipping the Lord.
But if it was up to you, none of that should have happened because you don't approve of the music???
You posted a small part of one scripture, “Rightly dividing the Word of Truth.” But you omitted the rest of it, which reads:
2 Timothy 2:9-15
9. And because I preach the Good News, I am chained like a criminal. But the Word of God cannot be chained.
10. I am willing to endure anything if it will bring salvation and eternal glory in Christ Jesus to those God has chosen.
11. This is a trustworthy saying: If we die with Him, we will also live with Him.
12. If we endure hardship, WE WILL REIGN WITH HIM.
13. Even if we are unfaithful, He remains faithful for He cannot deny who He is.
14. Remind everyone about these things and command them in God’s Presence to stop fighting over words. Such arguments are senseless and can ruin those who hear them.
15. Study to show yourself that you are approved by God, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, cutting straight to the Word of Truth.
Paul is telling us to remind one another not to argue and debate God’s Word but to trust that Jesus is faithful in bringing people to salvation through ANYTHING. We are to endure whatever comes and know that Jesus remains faithful no matter what. Jesus will bring the ones He has chosen to heaven where they will REIGN WITH HIM. And even if you don’t believe it, yet Jesus will still do it because He cannot deny He is LORD.
Paul says that we are commanded to tell people to stop fighting about our own interpretations of the Word because it interferes with what God is doing in each individual life. We ARE approved by God because of Jesus Christ’s Atonement on the Cross. We don’t have to be ashamed even if someone says they don’t like the way we worship God. We know the Word of Truth because the Spirit of Truth dwells within us.
Ok? So this guilt-tripping and condemnation about music needs to stop now.
No one will feel guilty if they feel they are on the right road. I know lots of kids and adults listen to this. Wide is the gate that leads to destruction but narrow is the way that leads to life.

We like to welcome all to Christian Chat, but if anyone is not here for fellowship (or for wanting to know about Christianity), but simply for disrupting fellowship, offending people, whatever, then that person is not welcome.

People like this would rather crusade against music than go out preaching to the unsaved. They are generally closed minded, self righteous and inconsiderate. I don't waste my time on such people. I've yet to meet even one that has any real backing for their claims other than twisting scripture, using it out of context and opinion. In 25 years i've yet to hear one single valid argument that's even made me pause and reconsider my stances on music.

Amen!! And ya know what? When I was going through my worst spiritual battles, music inspired and strengthened me. I honestly don't know how I would have made it through without listening to my collection of hardcore Christian rock, rap, hiphop, even metal. The beats and the lyrics picked me up and propelled me forward. God used that music to lift me up and encourage me. It really agitates me when people try to burden others with their own hang-ups. Let people live free in Christ, ya know?

I had similar experiences. I would put on music and write to vent out the problems i was suffering with internally. The music helped me to channel my anger into healthier areas and vent out what i was going through.
I do rightly divide the word . Your name Rememberthesabbath day makes we wonder why you are online on a Sunday when you should be reading your bible , in church, visiting the sick, etc etc........

So what do I mean when I say Amillennial?
It’s kind of complicated, I’ll try to keep it simple though
The primary Scriptural passage for meditation
Is found in the 20th chapter of Revelation
According to the Amillennial interpretation
Christ’s death on the cross greatly hindered the works of Satan
Bound him so he could no longer deceive the nations
John 12:31- See the correlation?
Revelation 20 verse 4 explains the present
Reign of the faithful beheaded saints in heaven
And that’s the point- Christ reigns from where He’s at now
At the right hand of the Father since He sat down
Ruling in the midst of His enemies, they’re hostile
Extending His Kingdom through the spread of the gospel
But when’s the millennium? You might find it pretty stunning
The whole time between Jesus first and second coming
His first coming was the kingdom inaugurated
His second coming will be the kingdom consummated
And yes, there’s a rapture- still, this is clear
The rapture doesn’t mean Christians will disappear
It means they’ll be caught up, changed in a moment
The blessing of all who’ve been saved through atonement
His coming won’t be secret though and this is a fact
When Jesus comes back, it’s a wrap!

I like this song and video because it goes back to the roots of Christian rap. The best way to get the music into the right hands is by dealing it, like a drug dealer would. Of course, this music is not for the faint of heart or people who only see Christianity as the clean white linen and beautifully organized pews inside a church. Christian music finds people where they are at and brings them to the foot of Jesus so that they may repent and receive salvation.
