Where do you get this stuff from? You are trying to force a square peg into a round hole. Hello people!! Babylon is the Mother of all False Religions. Islam is the pink elephant in the room that fits every single description to a tee all the way back to its roots with Ishmael. The beginnings of Mecca are attributed to Ishmael's descendants. Islam is by far the world's largest pagan religion complete with a false god and a false prophet. They kill by beheading those who do not agree with them. They are enemies of Israel and Christians. When is the last time we heard of a Catholic priest running through a crowded place killing people?

Islam is so obviously it yet apparently none of you, except Kenneth, have eyes to see the obvious. I love you all but see that I am wasting my time.
lol. Islam is not even close.

Paganism was the false God israel commited adultry today. Islam is not pagan, Catholicism is.

Would not paganism be attributed to ANY false god that would/could be worshipped by anyone....all humanity is directed to worship the one true God....

Abraham's dad worshipped the Moon god SIN, it seems from history that the Moon god SIN was also worshipped by Muhammad before he through force, death and a change of name (ALLAH) established the Islamic religion....

regardless of the circumstances of ISLAM.....any worship of any false god by any people is paganism it would seem.....

Just a thought and not being mouthy......

No not me.......How has Mecca made the merchants of the earth who trade by sea rich? Since when do the kings of the earth meet in Mecca? What market is used in Mecca to trade all of the things on the list? Just to name three!

How ?
Because Saudi Arabia is the oil capital of the world, and they have to import pretty much everything they have including animals. All the precious metals, fabrics, animals, even foods have to be imported to there. People have been getting rich off of buying their oil and selling it to others, which includes America as our gas prices are determined off what Saudi Arabia charges per barrel. Our oil merchants buy from them then turn around and price gouge the American public getting rich off of it, and then pad the pockets of our politicians and so on. Plus like I said it is a barren land, so they have to import most everything else they have. For they very few commodities they have of their own.

no its cool. There are differing levels of paganism. If we look at paganism in Johns day, when he wrote revelation. WHo would look more like the harlot in Johns day?

Islam or catholicism?

Since catholisim is based on pagaism in romes day, and has many of the same false Gods. I would say catholicism.

think of every catholic cathedral, Hopital, School. and the money that it takes to furnish it, Keep it going, Power it, And so on and so forth.

I think if we added up the cost. More would be spend on the worl to keep catholicism going than saudi arabia.

lol..You are blinded by your preconcieved ideas, as usual.

The vatican has more wealth than most nations on earth.

The vatican makes money from almost every nation on earth

The vatican actually has ambassadores to almost every nation if not all. WHich means the kings of the earth look to her for guidance and suggestions

roman catholicism is actually a very large industry, which means they have to purchase alot of goods and services to keep her industry moving (making them rich)

I can go on and on and on. but you will not listen anyway. so why bother.

mecca has non of these characteristics.

That is the part you are confused on because Revelation does not say Babylon gets rich, it says the merchants who sell to Babylon get rich of selling to her. You have the getting rich part backwards...................

so is revelation talking about johns day. or a future time.
11 saying, "Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea."

why would he need a vision or a dream, if he was talking about his day.
how could he prove, anything, that was in the whole world,(ie map of the world, a map of the universe, etc etc etc )

Kenneth, No offence, but I don't buy the Saudi/Mecca dispute........and having said that...nor do I buy Rome either....I do believe the 1st beast/little horn A.K.A anti-Christ comes from Islam and I do believe the FALSE PROPHET is the last POPE of a UNITED Roman Catholic/Greek Orthodox pseudo religion......Babylon A.D. is IDENTIFIED 6 times as a MEGA CITY where the KINGS of the EARTH MEET and ALL of the characteristics found concerning that City do not accurately describe MECCA.....

Why just to the seven churches in Asia?
Couple of reasons.....

1. The seven churches represent the (types) of churches that will be found during the (church age)
2. Even though the events are world wide they predominately take place and or start in that part of the world

My view.....

lol.. I am proving she is not just a small city. that does not have anything. or did you not read the context?

Do you ever read what is being said?

I have proved she makes the worlds merchants rich in the rest of my posts. (what do you think she does with all that money) Try sticking to context.

Okay cool, you seem as unconvinced as myself on two of the three I am looking at (and saying to myself, nah... this doesnt seem to fit).

But you probably reject it with more knowledge then I would have because this stuff is not one of my strengths, so I am extra cautious where I am weaker in these things.

Oh I do?

the electric companies getting rich off supplying her electricity.
The workers getting rich of keeping her building in good shape (ever been around a cathedral? there is always some kind of work being done to keep it in tip top shape by merchants)
who do you think supplies them with all the wine and wafers for the continual masses they have every week?

and I have not even begun to explain how much money they spend on a weekly bases to people who keep that organization in power.

I think again, You can not read what people are saying, so you get confused. Because your one sighted. and assume you know what they are saying

John used language applicable to his day to explain what he was seeing. So when you interpret him, you must use the language known in his day, the type of speach, the things he would have known, etc, to interpret it.

Babylon in Johns day was pagan rome. So babylon today would RESEMBLE pagan rome.

it is called babylon, because that is where the art of paganism was born.

I had overposted you (boy you are quick, you type way faster then me)

I have heard of this view before, not sure I agree with it, but there does seem to be something in those Jews of Asia against Paul. Thats something I began looking at, he was given the worse time of it through these particular Jews it seems

I primarily stand with point one....and vaguely lean toward point two....

Actually it does because all the kings of the Muslim religion nations do meet in Mecca once a year on their main holiday, as well does 1,000's of Muslims from all over the world go their on this day to worship. We when reading prophecy must get over thinking all or all of the world actually means the whole entire world. For the bible mentions all and all the world multiple times when not actually meaning every single country in the world.
Remember when going back to Ezekiel 28-30, Isaiah, and Daniel the nations always mentioned to face Gods judgment in the later times are Muslim or mainly Muslim nations.
I know some of you don't agree with PlainWord but he has been giving some biblical definitions of Mystery Babylon that do seem to get overlooked. I do not agree with all that Plainword says because I do believe the Roman empire does play a role to, but I do not believe it is the main role persay. There are a couple of scriptures that show Turkey as where the man of sin rises out of, and Turkey is majority Muslim was part of the original Roman empire, and has the second largest military force in the U.N. after the U.S.
The ties between the U.S. and Turkey has been getting stressed the past couple years, along with the fact that Turkey threatened the U.S. and Israel if they attack Iran.
Daniel 2 also shows the 10 kingdoms represented by the feet with the 10 toes as Iron mixed with Clay.
Meaning a combination of two groups, and the Muslims do have big populations in or are the main population in some of the original Roman empire countries.
