Like Adam and Eve in a way. Does God have a significant other prepared for everyone? Someone who will push us to pursue God all that much more and will pray with and for us? I've read somewhere that marriage isn't for everyone, and that there is a blessing of being single for some people? What do you think?

No, as the bible shows through the words of Paul that some have been chosen to walk a lifestyle to stay celibate.
Apostle Paul even says that he wishes all would be this way like he was, but then also stated that it is not a command.

you may be thinking of 1 Cor 7?

and clearly, no, there isn't 'someone for everyone'.

some people are called to be single, imo it's a very small amount...I think there are many people that a person can be happily married to... marraige will definitely stretch you spiritually, no matter who you're married to...

If that was the case (just for me) I beg He searched deep in my mind (and body) to make her in such a way I may say like Adam said:

"¡Mamacita!... <3

I want to marry you"

no God does not have someone lined up for us (at least not from the beginning). If we feel it necessary to marry He calls on us to choose wisely from those who are available, seeking His guidance and checking their spiritual qualifications. But He puts us under no pressure (although our own desires might)

How did you get that to post without 10 characters......write some letters in white ? HAH

LOL!! I would never have thought any thing of it unless you said something. I hadnt even thought of doing that (I will steal that from Willie-T now)

I used to do that with aligning certain posts (and lose the lines on a white backround) I had never thought to use it for this.

Yah! I love learning new tricks, this dog is not too old (yet) lol

Willie,

Even if you are right (and I disagree with you) there is not much teaching there.

Kat,

I believe that the indwelling Holy Spirit can only lead us into all truth

(Jn 16:13
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
KJV )

if we are willing to consult Him. I believe that God wants us to consult Him, not only on big decisions like marriage, but even on little decisions like shopping. He, the Spirit of Truth. will speak to us; but to benefit we must listen.

That is true, that even if there is no significant other for us (maybe) in this lifetime the Holy Ghost is that, and the disciples did say it was not good to Marry if certain was the case between husband and wife and Paul of widows speaks of them being happier if they abide (if that is given to them to).

It would seem that is given to see single life as better then married life (or at least that is how it reads to me).

Bottom line...there is one needful thing (luke 10:38-42)which does not include a marriage partner according to the flesh. But it is better to marry than to burn. And burn with passion is not a correct interpretation according to...

to burn with fire, to set on fire, kindle
to be on fire, to burn
to be incensed, indignant
make to glow
full of fire, fiery, ignited
of darts filled with inflammable substances and set on fire
melted by fire and purged of dross

I really don't try to do much "teaching" if the subject isn't too important. After all, as you should well know at your age, there is almost nothing that cannot be "proven" or "disproven" by selective application of carefully extracted verses.
