There is nothing wrong with either......and to distinguish between the two is fruitless and bias.....there is nothing wrong with occasionally hanging out witht the lost who need Jesus regardless of the fact of where they are..be it a bar and or backyard cookout!
Are you implying that I don't have the milk teaching? If that is so, then what exactly is the milk teaching according to what you believe? Do you also believe future sin is forgiven a believer, too?

What? It most certainly is wrong to think that a believer is not bothered by the sinful habits of others. Even Lot was vexed by the people's filthy conversations in his own town.
Scripture says, have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
In other words, lets say Bob struggled with drinking, and after meeting Jesus, he then decides to go to a bar to hang out with his buddies who drink. Not a very smart idea if he still could be tempted to drink again. Oh wait. But that's okay. Bob can go back to being a drunk if he wanted to. It really doesn't matter in the grande scheme of things. For once a son always a son, right?

Again, I believe you are avoiding in discussing the issue because I believe you honestly cannot actually explain away what the Bible says in these passages. But continue to make smart remarks if you like.
No offence, but your views mean nothing to me and carry about as much water as the dish drainer....Jesus was not offended at the peoples sin and went to where they were in order to lead them to the truth and Paul became all things to all people that he might win some....The command to disassociate is aimed at believers who are contrary to the truth......
And Lot lived with it day in and day out...key word OCCASIONALLY which you seemed to ignore....

I want to understand what you believe. Are you actually saying you believe Jesus just hung out with sinners... got them to believe in Him... and yet He did not require them to stop sinning as a part of having a right standing with God?
He was not implying that at all. Offering milk and cookies is a euphemism from the Speak Your Mind thread. It means to 'chill out'.
There are four theories of salvation (restrictive, wider hope, universal, unitarian),
three theories of the security of the believer (eternal security, continued faith, faith & works),
two theories of the destiny of the saved (soul present with the lord, soul sleep)
and three theories of the destiny of the lost (conscious everlasting punishment,
temporary purgatory, total annihilation).
No where did I imply that he did not require them to stop sinning in order to have a right standing with God....why do you always read into what people say? The point is simple....Jesus was not offended by the people's sin and went to them where they were in order to have the opportunity to witness and or teach them...Paul done the same thing....He became ALL things unto ALLmen that he might gain some.....there is nothing wrong with going to a bar with friends and or going to a back yard cook out with lost neighbors.....it does not mean you have to drink and it gives a perfect opportunity to explain why you would not drink......you cannot win the lost if you never go where the lost are.........this does not mean you have to partake of their sin and or the things they do that are contrary......
I am not sure what is in that document, but what scares me is if you will teach them about Once Saved Always Saved or that future sin is forgiven them. Are you teaching them that now?
Another thing you need to get over Jason......Jesus either paid your entire sin debt almost 2000 years ago or he paid none of it......and to say that he did not pay for every sin you would ever commit rejects and denies the fact that where sin abounds GRACE did much more abound...Christ died unto SIN once and paid the entire sin debt of humanity except for unbelief....
I was asking a question so as to what you believe and wanted to confirm it before making an assumption. Now, I know. By your statement here, it sounds to me like you believe that Jesus did not require people to stop sinning to have a right standing with God. I just wanted to make sure you do believe that. Because to me..... such a teaching is pure evil because Jesus would be condoning people's sins if he were to do so.
Then you have not either read or you forgotten about how Jesus was angry (and offended) at the Pharisee's sin of hypocrisy then.
Yes, I realize that we can go to a family event or go to an unbelieving friends house to witness to them. But just to hang out with them to enjoy ourselves is not what God calls us to do. We are amongst them to witness to them. There is no other reason. We are bought and paid for with a price and we are not our own.
