is it odd that this person has started 6 threads in the last 4 weeks and not replied once on any of them.
Kat_6 is viewing this thread as I am writing this but is not responding to anyone after she starts the thread.

is that normal or is this one of those troll things.
No, it's one of those judgmental things. And from the vast amount of judgment flying around here, I wouldn't reply, if I were her. She's supposed to tell what the sin is, and to a perfect man? She's supposed to wade through the self-righteousness? I've seen some of her other posts and see reasons why she doesn't.

God has been so good to me, blessing me with a miracle as well as many other things, but I have let Him down.. again. I struggle with a particular sin that I can't seem to control.. Each time I hear the Holy Spirit speaking inside telling me to say NO to sin, but my flesh is weak and I always end up sinning. I talked to God about this weakness, I've confessed that I am unable to do this without His help. But with all the blessings He has given me, I feel like such an awful person for always sinning and leaving Him hurt. He deserves so much more from me, and to know I let him down time and time again when all He does is love me and bless me makes me feel terrible :( I don't know what to think or do.. I feel so guilty for hurting God this way.
You cannot hurt God. And you cannot let Him down.

It doesn't matter how much you fail, He loves you unreservedly and unconditionally.

He already knew what was going to happen. He's already made His mind up.

Jeremiah 29 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Having a sincere repentant heart is what the Lord loves & you seem to be sincere. Its just a matter of allowing yourself to take a stand again, to receive the Lords forgiveness. Let the Lord refresh you, make you like new. The Christian road is not easy, & I think we all stumble all the way into glory (heaven).( Psalms 51:verse 10 - 12) Create in me a clean heart oh God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your holy spirit from me. Restore to me the Joy of your Salvation, and up-hold me with a willing spirit....Amen!

What does it mean to cause the Holy Spirit to grieve?

Do not feel bad all if you are already repentatn, we all have hurt God. After all it is sinners who killed His Only Begotten Son. This memory is what keeps all who believe contrite in heart, soul and mind.

Jesus gave Himself for anyone who turns from the world to the Kingdom, His of course. God bless all who are in Jesus Christ, and may we all be shining lights for those still groping in darkness, amen.

What does it mean to cause the Holy Spirit to grieve?
Question: "What does it mean to grieve / quench the Holy Spirit?"

Answer: When the word “quench” is used in Scripture, it is speaking of suppressing fire. When believers put on the shield of faith, as part of their armor of God (Ephesians 6:16), they are extinguishing the power of the fiery darts from Satan. Christ described hell as a place where the fire would not be “quenched” (Mark 9:44, 46, 48). Likewise, the Holy Spirit is a fire dwelling in each believer. He wants to express Himself in our actions and attitudes. When believers do not allow the Spirit to be seen in our actions, when we do what we know is wrong, we suppress or quench the Spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:19). We do not allow the Spirit to reveal Himself the way that He wants to.

To understand what it means to grieve the Spirit, we must first understand that this indicates the Spirit possesses personality. Only a person can be grieved; therefore, the Spirit must be a divine person in order to have this emotion. Once we understand this, we can better understand how He is grieved, mainly because we too are grieved. Ephesians 4:30 tells us that we should not grieve the Spirit. We grieve the Spirit by living like the pagans (4:17-19), by lying (4:25), by being angry (4:26-27), by stealing (4:28), by cursing (4:29), by being bitter (4:31), by being unforgiving (4:32), and by being sexually immoral (5:3-5). To grieve the Spirit is to act out in a sinful manner, whether it is in thought only or in both thought and deed.

Grieving the Holy Spirit and "hurting" God are two completely different things.

God cannot be hurt.

He already knows what's going to happen.

He's already made His mind up.

Isaiah 58:6
6 “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free
and break every yoke?

Sin enslaves a person .

Fasting breaks the yokes of sin.

Grieve-->lupeo-->to affect with sadness, to cause grief, to distress and a few other choice words....

I did not say grieve and hurt were the same things.....Why did Jesus WEEP when the crowd expressed unbelief when he went to raise Lazarus? Why was God grieved that he had made man when the earth was full of violence and he had to move with wrath and flood the word?

Was Jesus God in the flesh? Did it hurt when they drove the spikes thru his hands and feet? What about when the plowed his back with the cat-o-nine tails or crammed the thorns down on his head......

There is a few ways to look at this my friend.....I think the intent was that of disappointment when one sins in light of what Christ has done for us........

That was Jesus. I'm talking about God.

Jesus is Jesus. God is God. When Jesus was being crucified. God was still in Heaven.

You cannot add anything to God and you cannot take anything away from Him.

You cannot "hurt" God. He does not feel pain like we do. Whether its physical or emotional. He knows the beginning from the end. He has already made His mind up on the outcome. Everything that is going to happen, He has already dealt with in His own mind.

Do you really think that you can hurt God? :)

No, Jesus is Gods Son. God is God. Jesus is Jesus, Gods Son. In essence, he was God only as far as He was the Son of God. But He is NOT God! In essence, you are your mom and pop. But you are not your mom and pop. You are you. And your mom is your mom and your pop is your pop.

But why are you asking me about whether Jesus felt physical pain during his tribulation when the topic on hand is whether we can hurt God or not "emotionally"?

Remember one thing in life, God can take you at any moment of the day or night. On earth we exist in a strange kind of flux, where reaching out to the Lord is real, because nothing is obvious. The struggles we have here are like a baby learning to walk, someone ill claiming they are well. It takes time, maybe decades, to move to a place of closeness with the Lord.

The problem with human nature is we can flip so easily, from good things to things running away with us. We want to claim so much and yet fall over on the first attempt.

Whether the person who started the thread adds more, the sharing of peoples struggles means so much, it is our common experience of who we are as sinner walking under grace, and the reality of our ambitions. Look at all the prophets and apostles, like us they struggled, failed, walked on. This is life and this is the Kingdom. So thankyou for sharing, it is very encouraging to see the complexity and amibition of the Lord and our walk with him.

The answer is in the Bible, as usual OP =). You said that no matter what you do, or how often you commit this sin, He is right there to bless you and love you. Yes! For the Bible says that "the kindness of God leads you to repentance". Rom 2:4

I was addicted to alcohol at a stage in my life. I quit several times. went 9 months even without but went back to it after a weak moment. No matte what I always relapsed. Never asking God to help, I thought I could do it on my own. I failed each and every time.

It wasn't until one night on January 12th, that I asked God to GIVE ME HIS STRENGTH did I stop drinking--the very next day. It happened! It was a supernatural healing and absolutely amazing.

I thought I dare not make a mockery of God's strength and go back drinking. To go back drinking would in essence be saying God is not strong enough to help me. God can do all, and so helping me with an addiction was NOT out of His strength. The urge was totally taken out of me to drink. ALL the temptations, which used to be so strong I couldn't handle it, were 100% and fully GONE. The next day I just breezed right on past the convenient store not even urged one bit to go in and grab some beer. I was so happy and felt so close to Him again. BACK in fellowship!

So my suggestion and prayer for you is to ask for HIS strength. You can't go wrong. If you rely on your own you will fail. But when you lean on and depend on HIS strength great things can and will be accomplished. But you must cry out and want it. If a part of you deep down wants to hold on to this sin you will keep doing it.

God Bless you and pray that He delivers you from this sin, I pray that God gives you HIS strength to conquer the sins in your life.

Depend on Him, Kat, it's the only way.

I think you should study more bro.....

The Father judgeth no MAN, but has committed all judgment unto the SON...

I saw the dead stand before GOD and the books were opened and the dead were judged out of those things written in the BOOKS.....

Since God has committed ALL JUDGMENT unto the SON and judges NO MAN....WHEN humanity STANDS BEFORE GOD to be judged they are standing before JESUS.......

To deny the diety of Jesus is to reject the truth about JESUS=LOST and on the way to a liquid deprived place with higher than normal temps!

Indeed! Correct!

I and my Father are One. John 10:30

Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, Iam. John 8

---------> doesnt get any more clearer than that ! Jesus is God, God manifest in the flesh. the Father is God, I AM is God!

I know, you are right I definitely should! I need to read my bible more. I do online reading on her and on my mobile but only have a really really old bible need to get a new one!

Thanks for being kind and standing up for Christ dc. I don't think I'm denying the diety of Jesus or rejecting His truth though. I believe like the demons believe fear and tremble James 2:19. Or do you have a meaning more for the OP of this thread and whats been said thus far? I do see the point you are making and it is a very beautiful one. One that to some people is very hard to believe, accept and get your head round sometimes! :) But its true and its as humbling as you can get. What greater love will lay down his own life for his friends!

Christ is our personal Lord and Saviour and He knows our hearts and will fill it with more joy and love than we can even imagine completely restoring mankind to Him through His Son Jesus Christ as part of His magnificent Holy Will.

That sir, you can take to the bank! :)

I do appreciate your posts though dc and always find you inspiring and rightly dividing the word of God passionately right down the middle! ;)

Letting people know that even though they have different thoughts, everyone will be put right and know the true full story one day. Even as we are known now.

Yes I believe that too. But even though they are one, meaning, well, they are one, united together. After all, Jesus is Gods seed. His offspring just like we all are. But He is Gods Son amen and hallelujah! Lets agree on that much.

But God is God. The Father. Our Father. And Jesus is Gods Son. Our Lord. Our Personal Lord and Saviour.

I guess you could say then yes, that Jesus is God in the flesh because He is of and from The Father.

But He is the not the Father though. He is our eternal Lord and Shepard, God in the flesh as Gods infinite and immortal Son. :)

I mean, what a guy!! Give all thanks for Him. Praise His name and write it on the tablet of your hearts! None can add and none can take away. He is Alpha and Omega come together as one before time began and to come. The eternal. I am.

Exodus 3:14 KJV And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

1 Corinthians 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

Revelation 22:4 And they (the pure in heart) shall see his (Gods) face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Psalm 27:4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.

Psalm 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

I hope the OP is comforted by us anyway God bless you all. Be awesome one to another as we will be. :)

Thanks bro.....I love the truth and get a little zealous sometimes...well ok..most of the time.... :)

An interesting concept is found in the name you posted..... I AM.......

Jesus said...

I AM...

The way, the truth and the life
The bread that comes down from heaven
The resurrection and the life
The door of the sheep
The good shepherd

ETC.....

All things were created by him and for him......and by him all things (consists)<----the Greek word means (stands together) awesome truth for sure......

Keep pluggin away bro. and when you get a new bible..get a theological dictionary in both Hebrew and Greek and it will really help with understanding the words and really opens up the truth and what the words really meant......

Thanks for the kind response brother!

I doubt you have hurt God!

And, yes, some things are sticky, like this:
