What does osas stand for?
Once saved always saved it's a highly debated doctrine that has no end. Personally as far as once saved always saved I believe that if one has truly fallen in love with God and has made that intimate and loving bond with him then it is simply impossible to not continue falling deeper and deeper in love with him. However I also believe that if ones love with God and for God is either not legit or is not strong enough then satan can break that person down and eventually make them lose their faith

just in reference to this one post only, and not to any others,

you have just described Jesus preaching in the BIBLE. (except JESUS did not interpret scripture)

(and most people never understood or accepted JESUS or HIS MESSAGE)...

Just in reference to this one post only...Jesus brought a message of generosity. That generosity is the answer to where true joy is found. God was generous with us and sent his son to die for us. Jesus asks us to be generous with our time, our money, our things and most importantly with our love. Jason is trying to build a "bigger barn" for himself with all his knowledge. What did Jesus say to the rich dude who built bigger barns instead of being generous with his grain?

This came to mind when I read your post, Jason and I had to share with you all and I feel that it goes right along with your analogy.

Matthew 5:30
"If your right hand makes you stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to go into hell.

Just because we don't want to associate ourselves with certain people because of their personal issues of breaking the law does not mean that we cannot love them because we can love them and and reach out to them because of the love Christ shows us.

Yes, we are to reach people in love; But we should never break the Law and be an accessory to their crime by allowing them to live in your house, though. We are commanded to obey the law of the land if it does not conflict with God's laws.

Jesus came to heal the sick. The healthy don't need a doctor. I love it when my church is full of sinners hearing about the love of Jesus. The picture that you have painted here of Jesus is one that is exclusive to those who are well. This is wrong and it is unloving. Representing Jesus the way that you have on this forum grieves His heart.

Who was Mary Madeleine to you? Houses were involved. Prostitution had a death penalty.

Never said that you can't be around sinners so as to evangelize them. For how else can one reach the lost? What I am saying is that the believer does not get mixed up in their sin and or hang out with sinners while they do their lustful activities.

The Jews could not execute anyone they seen fit. They had to answer to the Romans at that time when it came to matters of justice. Sometimes they overstepped their boundaries but they were supposed to adhere to Roman law.

However, the key difference here is that Jesus did not allow or approve of sinners continuing in their sin as a part of being a disciple. Believers repent and or forsake their sin.

Well duh. You gonna go to the strip club and talk about Jesus with your lost friends? Of course not. That doesn't make any sense. You invite them to experience your world....not the other way around. And a follower of Jesus is a fun person to be around. Not all heavy with scripture this and verse that and these are my gifts and blah blah blah blah. If you wanna be a credible emissary of the gospel your actions have to reflect that joy and peace that only Jesus can bring. It can't be forced on people. They have to walk thru the door of their own accord. The door you offer I would slam in your face if I knew nothing about Jesus.

Oh. I forgot...when Peter lied and said he didn't know Jesus he wasn't his disciple anymore. Nor did Jesus restore him on the beach with a meal. If Jesus hadn't returned to restore peter...he would have spent the remainder of his days as a fisherman.

You're right. It is impossible... in us. It is possible and will happen with Christ in us. Don't trust Christ, then yes, you're condemned.

But, how do you trust someone without checking them out? Try asking God to give you the ability to love someone you hate.

Does that work? Read this thread again for what JFS said about turning that hate she had for her attackers into love. She didn't do that all by her lonesome. She's not any different than any of us. She did that through Christ who strengthens her and she will continue to do that in him because she trusted him and he proved himself trustworthy to her.

You've been shown, on this very thread, several instances of people who have love for people they -- in a world kind of way -- ought to hate.

Yeah...funny you mention that...I never really noticed God moving in me until you brought it up...like I knew I could love people but I never really understood it...now I do. Thanks and thank YOU God. I know it's dumb not to understand something so simple but it really just kinda was like "oh this is so natural" That's kinda cool how God can do stuff and make it sooo effortless on His part. :-) That's just really cool! THANKS!!

The first half of this isn't working at all for me. Sounds like you're saying Jesus gave up on the Law he gave Man, because, well, the Romans took over and he just didn't expect that.

Second half isn't fitting well either, since we all know what happened down the road of this story. Peter denied Jesus three times, and Judas? Well, he, apparently, didn't repent very well. It wasn't like this all came as a surprise to Jesus. He knew what he was getting into at the get-go. He knew who would betray him (all of them at one point or another), and still chose them. AND, he didn't tell Mary M., "Yo, sorry. Can't hang around you because of your day job."

Once Saved Always Saved, which imo, is nonsense and is often used as a license to sin with immunity.

Sometimes loving your enemy requires slapping them upside the head :)
Just as God corrects those he loves (Proverbs 3:12, Hebrews 12:6).

but the only way to drive out hurt is with kindness.

No, Jesus was slowly making changes to phase out the Old Law. He was making changes in the Law so as to prepare everyone for the New Testament (with his death).

Jesus said,
"Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also." (Matthew 5:38-39).

In the Old, the animal sacrifices were required according to the Law, but in the New, Jesus is our sacrifice. Peter was told in a vision to eat unclean animals by God. Peter at first refused because he knew it was contrary to OT Law.

The Scriptures even say there is a "change in the law."

As for Peter and Judas: Well, Peter was later restored for his denial of Christ. Peter had repented of his sin in denying him. Peter did not stay in a rebellious state of denying Christ with the Lord allowing Him to be his disciple.

As for Judas: Well, he was initially saved but then lost at some point in his following of Jesus. No doubt because of his own greed. Jesus doesn't choose evil people to be his disciples. Sorry, that just never happened. That would make the Lord bad and such a thing is not possible.

For what somebody does in the future is different than what they do now. God judges a person in the "present" in real time.

As for Mary: Nowhere is it ever said she continued to be a prostitute while she followed Jesus. That is a false assumption on your part.

Well, most Christians know that Jesus and his apostles quoted Scripture a lot. They also know that Christ and his followers also had dedicated their lives to God. Does the Scripture say to love the world and the things in it? Or does it say not to love those things?

Nowhere am I forcing people to believe anything. I am merely quoting God's Word to people as I am commanded to do according to Scripture.

Peter wept bitterly for his rejection of the Lord. This was his repentance. After Jesus was risen, the angel said.... call the disciples AND Peter. So you see. Peter needed to be restored by the Lord as a disciple again because of what he did. He asked Peter if he loved him several times. Peter's reply was that he did love him. Jesus then made the point that if he loved him, he would feed his sheep. For faith leads to action. For action is a part of a true saving faith; For works and holiness in a believer's life proves that God lives within them.

Hmmm. Jesus doesn't choose evil people to be his disciples. Do you want to correct this comment or shall I do it for you?

We are in a spiritual battle. It is a battle to love. A battle to love God with all your heart, mind, and soul. A battle to love all people (Including your enemies), letting the light of Christ shine in your life. But if there be bad fruit in your life, then you must examine yourself whether Christ is in you or not (See 2 Corinthians 13:5). Jesus and His apostles set the example of living right and holy. They loved even when they were hated. They did good even when it was hard. For by your fruits you shall know them. That fruit is love. The biggest one of them all. For without love we are nothing. For God is love.

Jesus saw those who did not know Him as lost sheep. Among the brethren we are not to have enemies.

So I must view my enemies as lost sheep and I will trust the LORD to protect me.

Judas didn't believe Jesus,

Peter did.

Can one who does not believe be saved?????????
