You know...those people who isolate themselves from the body of Christ and claim some spiritual superiority over everyone else. How do we lead them back to the body of Christ?

We let the world turn a few times and watch how God allows trouble in their lives and then we can rush in to bring them back to the reality that we need each other. God doesn't call people to become Lone Rangers.

Is there some kind of support group we can start at our churches for these poor wretched souls? We could call it "celebrate recovery from your incestuois relationship with your self righteous self importance recovery group".

Such people (if I am thinking about the same kind of people you are) have what I call an "independent spirit". They end up being pretty weird in their thinking and theology. They need deliverance.

Yup. I've seen it with a few people up close and personal. They often are not mentally well.

I believe they need Love on a continual basis without people backbiting them because I do believe the people in question have been hurt so bad it is a defense mechanism that doesn't allow them to show vulnerability and to show the love right back to us. I actually feel so bad for them because they don't realize how much God really does love them and it doesn't help the people that are Christian gossip about them and maybe to them and so the love of Christ doesn't come through as a light and ends up being a turnoff of the gospel. We are to be examples of Christ. Because one the commandments we must keep is Love Your Neighbor and in order to love God we need to keep his commandments.

Maybe put a bunch of Bible verses down like a trail.....and hopefully it will lead them to the truth?

I'm talking about it in the open and they can join in the conversation if they want...or they can sneer from the sidelines.

Thats a good question. One thing that strikes me tho and I know it is true in my own life is that if I am protesting something too much or fighting against circumstance to much it tells me that my soul is stirred up and I am not resting in Jesus.

And yes..... I am aware of the irony here.

Just like everyone the enemy is at work twisting scripture to get his job done. Of course prayer is what needs to happen, but who actually means it when you say, I'm praying for you? It starts with the heartfelt one that will swallow his (my) own pride and just pray God's power over situations.
