Still surprised not one has chimed in here. I wish they would. Aren't "real" christians supposed to be brave enough to go into "enemy" territory?
I am too.

My guess is they want to show that they can hold their ground, stand proud, and not resort to our childish ways.

My response?
I'm rubber......they're glue......:p

Not sure how much bravery is required, unless you're talking without an air sickness bag.

If you look at many of their threads you have...the enabler....and the other two...the theologian and the one who knows God's "real" name.

Small point. You suggested Jesus did not engage with the pharisees, they were just trying to find fault with his teaching.
I was suggesting understanding peoples ideas and positions is part of how we love and reach out to them.

You seemed to be saying not engaging was Jesus's way because they were the enemy. I am suggesting we need to actually take them so seriously we know their arguments, and have seen why we are different, and where the differences are.

There is a danger of course, you could change in the process, but then who is the Lord we follow.
Did Jesus ever love or reach out to the Pharisees? (The dudes in the temple were'n just Pharisees.) I keep picturing him calling them painted graves and snakes. (Whitewashed sepulchers and serpents.) And then having a rage hit in the temple where the money changers gathered. Doesn't seem very loving or an outreach attempt.

Considering this whole thread is about modern day pharisees, it seems relevant.

Five minute dely is always good

Oh my! Homospirituals and blonds coming out of the woodwork! Time to start rethinking Catholicism. Is this ChristianChat, or purgatory?

Q. What do twenty blondes standing ear to ear make?
A. A wind tunnel.

Thought I'd get that in, before your Matriarch descends with cookies.

I have a little question, I asked you where you get there are two creation stories. Please answer my question.
Easy enough, although I disagree. The first one is the "Let us make" chapter, where God creates the whole universe.

The second one starts with the generation of Adam, which is the story of Adam and Eve. It seems like two separate accounts of creation, unless you understand how they separated stories back then and why.

That's EXACTLY what "The gates of Hell shall not prevail" means. Brave Christians will "snatch souls from the fire", by going right into enemy territory, and rescuing them from Hell..... and the very gates of Hell will not stop them from doing it.

Maybe put a bunch of Bible verses down like a trail.....and hopefully it will lead them to the truth?
All of a sudden my Blond mind went back to two lane highways and the Barbasol signs on the road one after another with sayings...Only now I am seeing a trail of Bible verse signs.....

Repent.....Self Righteous.......Hypocrites.......The End........ Is Near...........Barbasol........For getting out .......of a .......close shave........

Sorry you are way too young to remember any of those.....lol

That was. I got a picture of group therapy at the asylum, reaching some consensus on those voices.

My typing's getting funky, and brain, too. (Okay. As to the latter, keep it to yourself.) If you run into anybody perfect, before I come back, I'll just take it for granted I was left behind!

I always get this picture of them sitting around a table in the cafeteria at the asylum in their open back robes eating canned green beans with plastic spoons while the jeopardy theme song plays in the background on the console tv while another sits in the corner flicking his boogers on the window looking out in the courtyard as the guy with long beard sits in his wheelchair with slobber running down his face.

That's so lame. Just answering off the top of your head all the time doesn't really help people to see what the the truth is according to the Bible.
/ / / / / / / / / <---- these were my nerves.
/ <------this is what you're doing to my nerves.

Try for a little more graceful, or I'm going to try my ignore list again.

Straight from the Word of God and you answer that. I have to finally say willy, I'm putting you on ignore.
And there went my last nerve.

Likewise, you just made it to my ignore. I disagree with Willie half the time, but I hope I'm not that rude about it.

I worked in a mental hospital for 6 years when I first started out....... that sounds like a picture you drew from memory. LOL
