I understand that some women can be aggressive and I'm certainly not saying it can't happen.
However, the next time I go on a date and the guy blatantly hints at or just suggests sex, I know where to send him after saying, "And to think. Some Christian ladies and I just had a discussion with a really good Christian guy who says men don't just ask for sex anymore. He's traditional. He doesn't think that kind of stuff happens anymore. However, you can be the one who proves him wrong! Here, give him a call and tell proposition him exactly the way you just did to me."

I agree with you that many have used the truth of God to abuse others and take advantage...we see this spirit of error at work all around us and even on this forum as it relates to every good truth and plan of God. It seems that the balance of this issue has gone way past trying to stop the abuse of biblical authority into a rebellious type attitude towards men and Gods family order. Thanks for your kind words and in truth, I know what I believe and have tried to present on this thread comes from a real love for God and is not motivated by the pride of the flesh(ego of a man). It appears that you opened a can of worms with your comment on "traditional" I think people have different gifts, if a guy makes all the decisions, even when it is not his gift, that could lead to disaster. For example; a women could have the gift of making better financial choices and budgeting decisions, yet if I man takes that away from her even if he has no idea how to budget, then he has failed his family into being bankrupt. (and vise versa) We all have gifts that is why marriage is a partnership. (I had to take over the finances in my marriage, for my X-husband constantly made poor financial discussion, after he left he went bankrupt again)

Hi Mitspa, I would most certainly welcome a spiritual leader in my home. It is difficult when the faith is not shared. Honestly if a man treated a woman the way the bible describes that he should, she would want to please him.

Yes, but even a godly man will not be an expert in everything. It can be very useful to be humble enough to defer to the expertise of someone else in certain areas (a couple of women mentioned finances).

The blessing of the Lord maketh rich and adds no sorrow...I have and believe the blessing of the Lord, not sure I would ever be willing to replace that with worldly wisdom, but if someone had greater revelation of Gods blessings. it would be silly not to honor that...right?

To answer the OP: No, it is not offensive for a man to desire a "traditional" biblical woman for a wife and my wife would agree with me.
Is either one of us perfect in our biblical roles? Absolutely not.
I have a long way to go in perfecting that whole loving her as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her part. Do I lord over her and dictate her every decision to her? No, since that would not follow Christ's lead.
Christ's example was that of a servant leader and those men who try to misuse scripture to support their totalitarianism does the concept of biblical marriage a great disservice.
There is nothing wrong with you fantasizing about the types of women you believed lived in the past--- meaning it's probably normal--- women do it too--- but just realize that no woman will fit your ideal because even Christian women are human and aren't perfect---
