This is just and observation but..... I don't think we can create our circumstance by speaking, but we certainly can influence them. It's funny how the bible says...where your treasure is...there your heart will be also. Notice how it doesn't say where your heart is, there your treasure will be. This is indicative that our heart follows what we consider to be treasure. What becomes our treasure starts with what we think about it.
Basicly what she is saying is we are in control when she says we can "prophecy our furture". It's believing we can order God around. I knew a woman that was into Joel Osteen's teachings and she flat told me one day that God would give her anything she wanted! It's like my quote from Isaiah 30, they want to be told "smooth" things, the carnal mind wants what it wants.

You have misconstrued the biblical truth of what she was teaching. Taking little out-of-context snippets out of full teachings from ANYONE is a bad and suspect practice. This is what even the enemies of God do with His word!

Ya...I see your point. It can come across as prosperity doctrine. I think in a way she is right. We are commanded in scripture to think about the good....because good thinking precedes a good countenance....and a good countenance precedes successful endeavor. Would;t you agree?

Come on folks. A twenty three thousand dollar toilet tells it all. That stinks!

I have just never understood why so many people are against Joyce Meyer. Most seem to be men and if they were honest about it I'd say many times men do not like a woman to be in the pulpit. Plus she is not a feminine woman so that is probably another strike against her.

I've never heard her say anything that blatantly goes against the Word.

That's a LIE you have chosen to believe, and you do yourself harm by perpetuating it.

The last I read of that particular witch hunt... 8 years ago.... Joyce had sent Chuck a package containing all the information they asked for..... as far as I know, they dropped it like a hot potato.

This is directed at no one in particular but why is that the people who claim no sin are the worst people murderers?

It's gassy flamers who love to smear this excrement around because they have a fixation on toilets.

I don't watch her and I don't agree with women pastors. But I don't think she is a false teacher and that is why I am sticking up for her.

I agree with everything except the women pastor part. My pastor would probably chastise me for saying that but lady's need pastors too. Don't you think?

Are we talking about pastors who are in authority of a Church or someone who is a minister or evangelist? If a woman claims to be a Pastor, as in authority over men then she should have an all woman church lol. If a woman is teaching other people but not in any sort of authority within a church then I believe they are in accordance with scripture.

And do you know how much she gives to people? The more God gives us the more we should give to others. Should she just be a poor minister and have nothing to give to others? Why do people feel ministers should live in poverty? I know a ton of pastors who have left the ministry because they were tired of living in poverty.

Why is it so scary for some to think that God is going to bless His people with prosperity? I'm not saying a 2 million dollar home is the answer but we don't have to live like some of you think we should.
I think this is over the top, I seriously doubt she really needs this kind of lifestyle but I guess to be effective in the Word Faith movement it goes a long way to prove your point about "positive confession" to your followers. Probably wouldn't look good if she was living in middle class suburbia. Reminds me of the Bakker era.

“Since 1999, the ministry has spent at least $4 million on five homes for Meyer and her four children near Interstate 270 and Gravois Road, St. Louis County records show. Meyer’s house, the largest of the five, is a 10,000-square-foot Cape Cod style estate home with a guest house and a garage that can be independently heated and cooled and can hold up to eight cars. The three-acre property has a large fountain, a gazebo, a private putting green, a pool and a poolhouse where the ministry recently added a $10,000 bathroom. The ministry pays for utilities, maintenance and landscaping costs at all five homes. It also pays for renovations… Even the property taxes, $15, 629 this year, are paid by the ministry.”[79]

Is Joyce Meyer Word of Faith?

``If you stay in your faith, you are going to get paid,'' Meyer told an audience in Detroit in September. ``I'm living now in my reward.''

https://web.archive.org/web/2006111...emeyer.nsf/0/18C14871599F61AC86256DDD0081B42B?

She says: "I'm living now in my reward.''?

And I thought we were rewarded when we stood at the Judgement Seat of Christ. Who knew?

A history of Joyce and Dave is an interesting read. For decades, they struggled, hardly even having money to pay for gas in their old van at times. Holding Bible studies on the floor of their living room.

I don't doubt (considering the kind of "redneck" that she is), she may have bought some pretty foolish things in her life, as she began to make some money from her tapes and books. I guess a lot of people with poor beginnings tend to do that. But a $23,000 toilet? Use your head...... It was probably a bathroom overhaul. (Which, being a GC, I can tell you is not out of line.)

It was my understanding that mrs Meyer is under the authority of her husband. Maybe I'm wrong but somewhere along the line I heard that or read it or dreamed it. Lol

There is a nice and proper balance between poverty and a two million dollar home.

But don't take my word for it.

[h=3]Jesus Counsels the Rich Young Ruler[/h][SUP]16 [/SUP]Now behold, one came and said to Him, “Good[SUP][e][/SUP] Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?”
[SUP]17 [/SUP]So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good?[SUP][f][/SUP] No one is good but One, that is, God.[SUP][g][/SUP] But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”
[SUP]18 [/SUP]He said to Him, “Which ones?”
Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder,’ ‘You shall not commit adultery,’ ‘You shall not steal,’ ‘You shall not bear false witness,’ [SUP]19 [/SUP]‘Honor your father and your mother,’[SUP][h][/SUP] and, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ ”[SUP][i][/SUP]
[SUP]20 [/SUP]The young man said to Him, “All these things I have kept from my youth.[SUP][j][/SUP] What do I still lack?”
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
[SUP]22 [/SUP]But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

I used to think that her teachings were basically sound until I herd her try to 'teach' her audience how to speak in tongues. I don't believe the Holy Spirit works that way! In fact, I am sufficiently sure that the Holy Spirit does not work that way; that I believe the attempt to pervert His role disqualifies her to teach.
