Let's just take this past week, alone...... How much good do you suppose JMM has done around the world in those 7 days, compared to what the likes of someone like you has done?

Well, me neither. That's one of the many reasons I don't go around trying to sling mud at people who do far more of what Jesus told us to do than the few hundred bucks I might throw in the plate on a good Sunday.

Acts 5 has their remedy, but having ears they cannot hear and eyes they cannot see:

You follow joyce meyer? Well according to her Christ died so that i can be confident and know who i am so i can be the best me possible. According to her im not a sinner and neither is she. Wait i take that back, according to her i am a sinner but she isnt, because i accept that i am sinful and she doesnt.
Is this really who you want to learn about god from? Notice i didnt say she is teaching the bible, because she isnt, and i used a lowercase g on god, because her god is a false one, a narcissistic one that she created to suit herself.

Wow, I had no idea I would start such a firestorm!
The way I interpreted the first sentence of the post I quoted way back on page one of this thread struck me as very odd. It seemed to me that Meyer was saying that we will get mercy in the same proportion as we give mercy. Like we can't get mercy unless we give mercy. That to me is very backward. After all, it was God FIRST who was merciful to me. And I would never be able to show mercy myself if not for His Holy Spirit indwelling me. And, finally, I don't show mercy TO others so that I will receive mercy FROM others. Being merciful is an act of love -- the kind of love that comes from God alone. And it is not to be used as some kind of bargaining chip in order for me to receive mercy from others.
So that is my elaboration on her quote. Sorry this thread got so out of hand. I feel particularly sorry for Angela who I respect a great deal and has been treated very poorly IMHO.

you should know something about this subject: when you post a thread like this, it is going to get out of hand. The televangelist subject in general will get out of hand. I'm learning that the hard way, and am letting it go as it will. So, don't be sorry for creating a thread. You had no idea that it would get this bad.
I think you may misunderstand the whole concept. It is not a bargaining chip, it is a heart to show mercy that God will recognize.
Not many people are willing to actually read the Scriptures for what is said there, but this is what the "Sheep and Goats" is all about........ how we treated other people. God, in effect, said, "You either showed mercy to others, or you didn't, and that will determine if I recognize you as being of My Spirit, or not."
Another way He put it is that we would show love, one for the other.

I met Dave and Joyce a few years ago and got to know them very well. Nothing you say can hold a candle stick to the character both of them have that you lack so desperately.
