You truly don't know what you're railing against. Yes, every born again believer has the indwelling Holy Spirit, but not all have experienced His baptism, and His overflowing abundance, or His anointing.

I do not have an angry, defensive spirit. I stand against people like you for the sake of Jesus Christ and for the sake of those who just might be influenced by your malice toward well-known, God-blessed and God-appointed workers in the Body of Christ. Sometimes they may make a mistake in their teaching. Does that mean you have to stone them and label them false? Many of the posts in this thread that include links are simply out-of context and out-of date links that mean nothing today, as the teachers in question have moved on, but of course, people with an agenda to tear down, rather than build up will continue to harp away at some ancient error that has already been corrected and shored up by the Spirit's doing. But the weak among us cannot see that. They wail and cajole and mock out of their spiritual babyishness.

Grow up.

Well, unlike you, I have grown up. I grew up because I trusted the Bible, and the Holy Spirit to lead me. Not supposed preachers who suddenly change their basic doctrines when called out by the church at large for their heresies.

One of the links from CARM on Joyce Meyer, which I took the time to read, did quote some older sources. But the researcher said he sent a letter to her organization asking to confirm what she said in her published books, and they never answered back. CARM is a huge internet site, with over a million and a half hits monthly. Odd that Joyce Meyers wouldn't have wanted to correct her doctrine, which she herself had to correct, when she found out how wrong she was about the lies she was teaching!

As for this supposed "Baptism of the Holy Spirit" I'm still waiting on Scripture to support it.

And waiting, and waiting......

Hey! Me too! My teacher is Holy Spirit. However, you still appear to need a growth spurt. Rightly dividing God's word, and truly being receptive to truth from the Lord builds strong bones of faith!

Well, you can do what I and millions of others have done. Search the thing out in the word. Acts shows us in living colour about the countless believers who experienced the powerful baptism of the Holy Spirit. If you are open to Him in your life, then you will do that.

I would appreciate if you would answer the following questions offering your biblical support for these ideas.

What is the baptism of the Holy Spirit and how do we know when people have experience it?

If someone has not experienced this "baptism," how do they get it?

What is the "overflowing abundance" of the Holy Spirit, and how do we know if someone has it?

If someone lacks the "overflowing abundance" of the Holy Spirit, then how do they get it?

What is the "anointing" of the Holy Spirit, and how do we know when someone has it?

If someone lacks the "anointing" of the Holy Spirit, how do they get it?

Are the "baptism," "overflowing abundance," and "anointing" of the Holy Spirit three separate ideas, or three expressions of the same idea. (For example, is it possible to be "baptized" in the Holy Spirit, but lack the "overflowing abundance" of the Holy Spirit)?

Chica, I just noticed at the bottom of the screen you did a thread, Creflo Dollar wants a $65 milliom dollar jet! I would have posted to yours, had I known.

Anyway, I hope nobody gets injured, discussing the Holy Spirit here. For now, I'm more concerned over my earlier name it and claim it, would also like a submarine, to preach to the spirits of the drowned, and a pool for Jesus large enough to park it, a penthouse condo 'o glory on Waikiki Beach, oh, no time to go through the whole list, just,
GIMME MO STUFF!

When your accuser, the devil, comes along and says, “You have done this wrong and you have not done that right,” Jesus says, “Father, the devil is right, but My blood has paid for what the devil is accusing him of.”
Then the devil adds, “You have also not been reading the Bible or praying enough. And this morning, you told a lie.”

When Jesus rose from the grave, He rose as your Advocate, your lawyer. But unlike most earthly lawyers who take on cases because it serves their interests and wallets, He is a lawyer who is personally interested in your happiness and well-being. Unlike earthly lawyers who are not caught up in the feelings and sufferings of their clients, Jesus went through great sufferings for you and paid with His own life so that you can receive all the blessings of God.
As your Advocate today, Jesus ensures that what He died and suffered to give you, you get! In heaven today, He defends and represents you to ensure that the healing, wholeness, protection and other blessings that He died to give you are enforced in your life. Beloved, have confidence in and rest in the ability of your Advocate!

I would love to discuss this with you, but this thread has an evil atmosphere and I will not offer my pearls when there are so many swine about.

Perhaps I can offer you something through a PM.

Well, you can do what I and millions of others have done. Search the thing out in the word. Acts shows us in living colour about the countless believers who experienced the powerful baptism of the Holy Spirit. If you are open to Him in your life, then you will do that.

Well, you see, I've read the Bible from cover to cover over 50 times. In English, French and Spanish. And about 10 translations in English. And parts of the Old Testament in Hebrew, and most of the New Testament in Greek. And studied and studied.

And I have never found a reference to "The Baptism of the Holy Spirit."

Obviously, you never have either. It would be so easy to post the verses, if they existed. But they don't.

So my question to you, have you ever read the Bible cover to cover? Or just these Bible studies and teachings of false, supposedly "annointed" teachers, who change their basic doctrines when confronted by the truth?

The problem with you Nancy, is you really don't know the Bible, and you idolize these false teachers. I would challenge you to stay away from their teachings for a couple of years, read the actual Bible, and see the amazing things about God that you discover.

I know the Holy Spirit will guide and teach you. Unless you are too old and set in your ways to believe the Bible, instead of these deceptive teachers, who lie, change doctrines with every new wind, and fleece their followers of their money.

As a christian, i follow The Word of God the Bible. Any theology i have comes from the Bible being read and exegeted in context. If i hold any theology that does not come from the Bible, i throw it out because it is not God's word, it is not truth.

Due to this, it give you an opportunity Nancy. You have made claims about the Bible that i have found to be false and scripture seems to show is false. You have the opportunity to show how and why scripture agrees with what you have claimed by giving us sound exegesis of biblical passages.

By exegeting out of context or simply not supporting your claims with biblical backing, you show your claims to be false.

Angela, poetmary, and I are offering you a chance to show how the Bible supports your theology.

Hmm, did I forget to do an exposé on Derek Prince?? Well, it will have to wait, I need to go have a life, outside this forum. Promise to remind me if I forget.

I think God might be giving me a ministry of showing the truth of God's Word, as opposed to all these people who are just sheep following liars, and thieves.

You set the tone in this mockery of a thread. It's a foul place for such a discussion. If you are truly wanting honest discussion, you need to open a new thread for it, and prove yourself worthy of proper discussion.

Feel free to email me your responses and scriptural support for these questions.

However, please do NOT email me a link to some outside source.

I'm not asking these questions because I need to be "taught" some doctrine. I'm asking because I would like to understand your perspective and how you biblically support these ideas you espouse.

Nancy, you have a chance to show the biblical veracity of your claims and you are not going to take it up? As i said before, supporting it with out of context biblical text or not supporting it biblically at all shows the claims to be false.

Well I was going to pass on this one but decided not to. Many people talk about TV Ministers liek they are the devil themselves and how they steal money to furnish their lifestyles. I wonder how many have been to their churches and sat in their ministries, how many know what they do in the communities and around the world in their ministries, how many get all their news from youtube on their ministries?
As for them haveing so much and not giving to the poor, how many give to the poor out of every paycheck, take food from their homes and feed the homeless, give clothes the naked, pay for someones medication who is not a family member or just go visit a widow to giver her company.
See we can do a lot of finger pointing and call someome false and fake but are we real with our lifestyles? Something to think about before we go blabbing off about someone else just because they have a lot more than we do.
BTW Jesus chose disciples to go with him that owned homes, boats, and businesses.
Auh, and you know what else boys and girls:

Kenneth Copeland's "18-thousand square foot home valued at $6.3 million" and his "private jets" are just some of the reasons that Kenneth Copeland Ministries (KCM) was included in Senator Grassley’s investigation. [27]

However, it soon became very clear that Copeland's Eagle Mountain International Church (EMIC), and three of the other organizations under investigation, did not intend to cooperate in any way with the Committee. On July 7, 2008 Times Online reported that

“Televangelist Kenneth Copeland refuses to render unto taxman”

“It is not yours, it is God's, and you are not going to get it.” So saith Kenneth Copeland, the television evangelist, when asked to submit his ministry's private financial records to Washington” [28]

In fact some used "strong tactics to prevent former employees from speaking about the organizations, even to Committee staff".

Several former employees of EMIC/KCM indicated that EMIC/KCM used intimidation in an attempt to keep informants from speaking to the Committee. Former employees were sincerely afraid to provide statements for fear of being sued since they signed confidentiality agreements. Employees were contacted by EMIC/KCM attorneys after the initiation of the Committee investigation and reminded that they signed a confidentiality agreement agreeing not to disclose any information concerning EMIC/KCM. [29]

One former employee said, "The Copelands employ guerrilla tactics to keep their employees silent. We are flat out told and threatened that if we talk, God will blight our finances, strike our families down, and pretty much afflict us with everything evil and unholy. Rather, God will allow Satan to do those things to us because we have stepped out from under His umbrella of protection, by "touching God's anointed Prophet". Further, employees are encouraged to shun and treat badly anyone who dares speak out.” [29]

Speaking of the four organizations that did not cooperate, providing either incomplete responses or none at all, an internal memo says the investigators
"...obtained information about these churches from public sources and third party informants. Informants were either current or former officers, directors, and key employees, current or former members, or watch dog groups. Overviews of each of the four are attached. [30]

On January 6th, 2011, Senator Grassley issued a press release that summarized his offices findings to date regarding the Senate Finance Committee’s (SFC) investigation of six televangelists. A 28 page report included the following findings. Apparently God's money, as Copeland puts it, includes a sizable share for the Copelands… [All Emphasis Added

The spirit of mockery?

Nancy it isnt bait at all, it is actually a chance for you to give an argument for your claims. So far the biblical evidence posted entirely contradicts you. You now have a chance to give an argument for your side. If you choose not to take it, you show you dont have an argument and therefor show your views not to be biblically sound.

So it is very simple. Post the biblical evidence for your claims.
