Why are you imagining a stage?
In scripture, people did fall in the presence of Holy Spirit power. Sometimes the feet just cannot manage to hold a person up when Holy Spirit is in front of you.
This is not a practice, or a doctrine, as some people like to call it. It is simply a move of the Spirit on individuals.
Please do not be in 'ignorance' and immediately 'nullify' what is true, about the 'unjust' happening also in the 'meetings'. We do see and have 'witnessed' and have heard, this term 'mentioned' in the church and especially takes place in 'deliverance ministries', where when the man of GOD 'swings' his arm to the right and left, many people 'fall' to the ground, whether performed on stage or off stage, and this is said to be of being 'Slain in the SPIRIT'.
We know what this 'believer' has 'posted', from what one has 'witnessed' and seeks 'justification' according to Grace and Truth of the New Covenant/Testament and we are unworthy servants at service about one's innocent question.

You say "in Scripture" please post the verses/passages with references to where people fall in the presence of the Holy Spirit because their feet cannot hold the person up. Thanks!
I'm not 'imagining' a stage, every video clip I've seen where people are 'being slain in the spirit' there is a stage present or they act like it's a stage performance.
Gladly! It is all to do with involuntary prostration before the presence of the Lord.

Wel,l churches have a dais, for the most part, do they not? You may in your criticism choose to look down on what the Lord does among His people and consider it entertainment, but that is how the world sees things. We are not of the world. You have a choice.
Acts 5:9....This is the true meaning of slain in the Spirit...Now if there are people on here that claim this ACTION tell me this, how does a dead man talk?
Nancy, I have witnessed this in person, not from a video. Maybe I don't understand what I saw. All I know is it didn't look right, or feel right. It seemed as though the audience was in awe of this preacher. It appeared to me that the people he touched, went unconcious
It might look strange, and the flesh wants to criticize it because the natural mind cannot understand spiritual things. You can CHOOSE to remain open anf teachable before the Lord. Just ask Him about it! Believe me, no one is rendered unconscious.

The presence of GOD and the power is moving through the 'gifted man of GOD' in the meeting places, and people 'fall' to the ground is 'true' as we have 'witnessed'.
In the account of the HOLY BIBLE, we have learned during the presence of GOD and when HE spoke, people 'fall' to the ground, as though they were dead or paralysed. Such account of a believer who 'experienced' and 'explains' such, even today, can be considered and is to be 'true' and also of 'truth'.
When JESUS answered three times, 'I AM', to those who came to arrest HIM and asked about HIM, they 'fell back' also three times at HIS answer.
But 'interpreting' and making a 'doctrine' that came from 'weak men' justifying one is being 'Slain in the SPIRIT' can be considered as 'false'. i believe this 'term' came about 'deceivingly' and commonly used by 'weak' believers, just because 'witnessing' the 'man of GOD' in the meeting places, where he 'swings his arms like a sword' on people in front of him.
Apart from this, i believe the 'deliverance' from 'demon' or 'evil spirit' oppression in such meeting places, can be considered as 'true'. Sadly this has become an 'attraction' for many believers and strongly tend to attend or be in one regularly. And also many come back for 're-deliverance' again and again.
GOD's HOLY SPIRIT 'gifts' may have or being used in 'vain' and this results to 'lawlessness' of the church. Also 'exposing' this and such events, we cannot not 'generalize' all of them are 'one', because there are 'spirit and truth' operational ones out there for the Kingdom of GOD, with CHRIST and the HOLY SPIRIT according to the HOLY BIBLE.

FALLING DOWN BACKWARDS
Genesis 49:16-17
"Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel.

1st Samuel 4:18
"And it came to pass, when he made mention of the ark of God, that he fell from off the seat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck brake, and he died: for he was an old man, and heavy. And he had judged Israel forty years."

The Lord is speaking here of rebellious

They had come to arrest Jesus.

Jesus fell forward in prayer.

i believe in what i have learned from the HOLY SPIRIT, that being 'Slain in the Spirit', which is not exactly Biblical, contradicts Biblical 'Sword of the SPIRIT', 'The Word of GOD', that 'ministers' and 'convicts' people.
May be this is truly the right 'interpretation' and use of the word of being 'Slain in the SPIRIT' that when one is 'convicted' by the 'Word of GOD'. This is in 'reference' to, as written in 1 Corinthians 14;24.25, what the gift of 'prophesy' does to a person or people.
And the 'Sword of the SPIRIT' which is 'The Word of GOD', written in Ephesians 6;17. Together the 'function' of the 'Word of GOD', which is like 'a double edged sword', written in Hebrews 4;12,13.
As it is also written;
"All Honor, All Praise and All Glory be to our GOD forever and ever. Amen."

The proper reading of John 18:6 is "they went backwards" meaning they drew back or stepped back, not "they fell", and there is no indication whatsoever that they went backwards "3" times.
This is just the opposite of what I have seen happen to people that are supposedly "slain in the spirit", since they immediately without stepping backwards fall backwards to the floor.
pipto: to descend from an erect to a prostrate position; to fall down, to be prostrated, fall prostrate; of those overcome by terror or astonishment or grief or under the attack of an evil spirit or of falling dead suddenly; the dismemberment of a corpse by decay; to prostrate one's self; used of suppliants and persons rendering homage or worship to one; to fall out, fall from i.e. shall perish or be lost; to fall down, fall into ruin: of buildings, walls etc.
Do the above scriptures actually pertain to being "slain in the Spirit"? If being "slain in the Spirit" is truly a manifestation of the Spirit - then why isn't it listed with the nine manifestations of the Spirit in 1 Cor. 12:7 and following? God doesn't want us to be ignorant about spiritual matters . . . sometimes "spiritual experiences" and "sincerity" are seen as more important that the written word of God as the complete authority and discerner of the things that pertain to life and godliness. There is always purpose and profit in anything our heavenly Father does.
Strange things can happen to people when they get hyped up. Like voodoo. Best to stay away from stuff like this since it can infect anyone that puts themselves in the middle of situation.
